Overview
Kalissa was born the eldest child of Themissa and Kalchus Jaldrish in Arinzi during the Hydran Exodus. Her family moved back into Anarinuell with the rest of her clan and even though her memories of her birth city are fleeting, Kalissa is often heard to speak warmly of the place. Her mother worked as a servant and cook in the Istabelik Mansion, while her father, originally made a poison taster as punishment for heresy, had moved up the ranks to become the Head of the Royal Guard. From a very young age Kalissa was groomed by her mother, Mes Sarette and Lady Senika Istabelik to take up her role as Lady Selia Istabelik's maid.
A pious young woman, Kalissa can be found daily at the Hydran True Temple (if not more than once a day) and is know for her donations of clothes and dolls to both the Gold Dragon and Hydran orphanages. Kalissa is beginning to become well know as an excellent hairstylist. She studied under the city's best, Mes Priapa Davocelli and has since become a popular choice of stylist to a number of the noble lady's in the city. Her clients include: Ladies Senika and Selia Istabelik; Ladies Hattie, Zanna and Gemia N'gadanik; Lady Idra Junik; Lady Jaline Firgalik; Lady Teriana Iberik and Princess Katriana Elianik.

Mother
Mes Themissa Jaldrish
Everyone says that Kalissa's mother is the quintessential Hydran woman: obedient, useful, and docile. Kalissa would never disagree with this, but there are so many other things that her mother is, that she loves! She's really smart, and people like her because she's so good at making friends. Kalissa likes to think that she takes after her mother quite a bit, and even mimics the way her mother does things--a frustration for Themissa at times, but often with amusing results. Their relationship is very close as mother and daughter except for a major argument they had over Lady Senika's request that Kalissa move into the Istabelik Mansion to better serve Lady Selia. That blew over soon enough though with the birth of Kalissa's first child bringing the family back together.

Captain Kalchus Jaldrish
Kalissa was definately a daddy's girl as a child, that is until Zutriana came into their lives and wrapped daddy around her little finger. Kalissa's teenage years were a little rocky (for a Hydran girl), with her and Kalchus ending up in numerous 'disagreements' which always resulting in Kalissa on the receiving end of a tamir stick. After Kalissa moved out and the pair had a bit of cooling off time their relationship grew close again, now with Kalissa also working in the Istabelik Mansion. In the past few months though, the relationship has begun to show a great deal of strain ever since the Istabelik heirs kidnapping incident.
Siblings
Tydean Jaldrish
Tydean is Kalissa's little brother by only two years. It's funny, because as the boy he was supposed to be the protector, and certainly he's big enough to be one. However, being the older of the two it always seemed like Kalissa is the one looking after her brother. She didn't mind, because despite the occasional sibling squabble they get along really well. When Zutriana arrived in the family Tydean stepped up as her protector which gave Kalissa time to focus on other things.
Mes Zutriana Jaldrish
Kalissa met Zutriana when they were both still children and Zutriana was an orphan. The pair had a tea party together and Kalissa decided that her family would adopt Zutriana. It didn't take much work on Kalchus before Zutriana became her sister. She really does love her little sister to bits though sometimes she asks the most difficult questions that Kalissa would much rather ignore. Both Zutriana and Kalissa are incredibly devout even if they sometimes have different views on Zutivian theology, the pair can often be seen in the temple praying together.
Bela Jaldrish
Bela was born after Kalissa had already married and left the house, but she was there to see the baby born. The first she had ever seen, holding her mothers hand the whole time. Kalissa has started to go over to her former home more often just to see the little one whom she adores and Bela has often fallen asleep in her oldest sister's arms as Kalissa sang to her. Bela and Kalissa's own daughters get along very well.
Marriage
Kalissa was married in the same year as her ceremony of souls, 37AU to Brother Belikos Jessamyn. The marriage was somewhat unusual in that Brother Belikos had been offered the hand of any common Hydran girl by His Honor Amenik for Belikos' service on the front. They had known each other in passing as children, with their mothers, Keleena and Themissa, being friends. The two live separately with Belikos staying in the Priest's Cells of the True Temple. The couple have produced two lovely and devout little girls but have yet to have a son which seems to be putting a great deal of strain on Kalissa.

Gemelika Jessamyn
Born Jun 3, 38 AU. Gemelika is Kalissa's eldest child. She was very dissapointed that it was a girl and also very scared that Belikos would be upset but she supposed it is fitting that seeing as she was an eldest child, her eldest should be a girl too. Gemelika was named after Lady Gemella Istabelik, who passed on only a few months before the girl-child was born. Gemelika has grown into a very vocal and Zutiv loving child. The first to wake in the morning if only to rush out and greet the rising sun. She loves to sing hymns at the top of her voice, especially if everyone else in the house is asleep.
Lisella Jessamyn
In the early hours of Mon April 3rd, 39 A.U. Kalissa woke up to find herself in labour. The result was little Lisella, whom Lady Selia named because Kalissa wasn't expecting another girl. Needless to say Kalissa was again dissapointed at not having a son, and she is quite worried at all the crying this one does after Gemelika was so happy. Lisella has grown up into a weepy little toddler, always on the edge of tears except when she is with her father or happily seated in the temple to tell Lord Zutiv about all her woes.

In 40AU, Kalissa acted as assistant food co-ordinator under Lady Savanna Iberik for the Spring Festival.

In 41AU, Kalissa was accepted on a probationary period as a teacher at the esteemed Academy.

None publically, Kalissa generally tries to get along with others and keep her head down around nobles despite a few misdeeds in her youth.
Allies
Lady Senika Istabelik
Lady Senika has watched out for and tutored Kalissa in the ways of serving nobility since before her ceremony of souls. Kalissa considers Senika to be a perfect role-model for any Hydran woman and strives to mimic her grace.
Lady Selia Istabelik
Lady Selia is Kalissa's life-long sponsor and the first lady she worked for. At first Kalissa was wary of this distant and sometimes rather sad noblewomen, but after a little while when Selia finally opened up to her maid, they have become fast allies. Selia is rather protective of Kalissa and in turn Kalissa is obedient to her and tries to do everything within her power to assist Selia.
Sarette
Sarette is the big sister that Kalissa never had. The two of them are nearly joined at the hip and work like a well oiled machine to keep the Istabelik Mansion in order. They are the best of friends and even wear a pair of matching necklaces with silver lockets.
Dicci Mageeran
Kalissa was introduced to Dicci through Lady Arika N'Gato who had taken Dicci on as her lady's maid. Lady Arika asked Kalissa to tutor Dicci in the arts of service and hairstyling and the two girls hit it off almost immediately becoming fast friends.
Scandals
Missing Heirs
In 40AU, only weeks after Kalissa was announced as Governess to the Royal Hydran heirs, the boys were mysteriously kidnapped from their rooms. Kalissa was arrested by Lord Rodiste N'Gato and taken to the Ecclesiastical Court. She was finally released and cleared of all suspicions by His Honour Amenik, but she had been beaten badly and always seems to have a wheeze to her breathing, coughing frequently.
Sins of the Father
In that same year Kalissa's father, Kalchus Jaldrish, came under suspicion and was eventually charged with failing to ensure the security of the Istabelik family and that he may have, in fact, conspired to compromise that security. During this investigation Kalissa was again brought into the Ecclesiastical Court and inquisitioned. She emerged from the court a week later, uninjured and was not implicated in her father's crime. However, since then Kalissa has not been seeing entering the Royal Hydran palace though Lady Selia and Sarette do come to visit her.
Kidnapped!
In 41AU, Kalissa went out to collect herbs and was kidnapped by a vile man from the Old City. She was eventually rescued mostly unharmed except for a fractured neck by the brave efforts of Centurion Ianootz, Centurion Teni, Sentry Rinzik and Sentry Dar. Since then Kalissa has not been seen without her bodyguards and other escorts if leaving the city walls.
