Starting Location: Tavern

Traits: Looks down on Firans, tattles on other slaves.

Clan/Race: Bonduin

Official Statement

My name's Keeli Samiroon, and I'm a slave of Malentez's. Not a Firan slave, mind you -- I may have lived here with them for a while, but I'm a Bonduin, and worth any three of them. Things are really pretty good here for a girl like me, and while I've an eye to moving up, there's nothing I'd've gained by trying to hurt Governor Hralib, and especially not in such a brutal way. If you ask me, you should be looking at some of the Ticanee: have you seen what they can do to a person with a fish? If any of the slaves did this, it was probably one of them: maybe the messenger girl, Feathyr. She probably cut off his finger to eat in some barbaric ritual.

Background

Keeli was born a slave in Ellish, but escaped to spend most of her life among Firans in Anarinuell. She was a soldier and a free woman, and it was a nice life, but when she was captured by Caree and brought back as a slave, it wasn't as much a shock for her as it was for some. She was able to get settled back into the life of a Shamibelian slave well, and has proven her loyalty through obedience and a willingness to report on Firan slaves when they stray.

Relationships

  • Malentez -- Keeli's master. Keeli is always obedient to him and careful around him. She's no idiot!
  • Zaridos -- Keeli's Firan General in the Predator Division before they were defeated. Now he is one of Malentez' slaves, just like her, and an equal. Actually, he's less than her, because he's Firan, and a gladiator slave. They die quickly.
  • Sarina -- Keeli's subordinate officer in the Predator Division before they were defeated, and a Ticanee.
  • Brizo -- Father Brizo raised Keeli in the orphanage and he is the closest thing to a father that she's ever had.
  • Savanna -- Malentez' other slave girl. Keeli doesn't like her much. Savanna has a valuable skill as an armorer, and Keeli is a bit jealous. Also, she doesn't at all trust the girl's loyalty.
  • Czar -- Another one of Malentez' slaves, and Keeli's brother-in-law. He's also Bonduin, and she feels a double bond to him for that.
  • Caree -- Caree is the slaver who captured Keeli and delivered her to the Shamibelians to be enslaved. Keeli has a real bone to pick with her.

Goals

  1. Father Brizo looks like he's been injured. Find out if he's alright.
  2. If someone hurt Father Brizo, find out who, and make them pay
  3. Get Tatomir to make you an overseer with keys to some of the city gates
  4. Tattle on other slaves for minor infractions to convince the Shamibelians that you're loyal to them

Keeli Round One

Round One Reveal

While a Shamibelian man can lose his home, his property, and even his life, Obala teaches that he can never lose his slaves involuntarily. They belong to him, in a life debt, in a pact with Obala. The connection is sacred. If a warrior like Scithvor thought that Governor Hralib was going to take his slave, Fara, away from him in order to free her, wouldn't he have a right to kill him?

On the other hand, as a woman, Keeli can understand the way the slave girl Fara must feel. She had emotions for this Governor Hralib, and yet, they led to her disgrace and turned her mother against her. She ended up being denied land and becoming a slave, all because she cared for him. Can one blame her for wanting Hralib dead?

Keeli lived many years amongst the Firans, and knows that the Ticanee are a very angry people. They are barbaric. They put aquatic animals into the anuses of their enemies. They bite out body parts of their prey and eat them. They are vicious and cannot be trusted. One has to wonder if Feathyr ate Hralib's finger as part of her savage ritual.

A warrior like Bivin is a proud man, who wants to stand on his own two feet, and cannot have liked the way Governor Hralib bullied him when he lived with his mother. Bad relationships are often the way between father and step-son, and if Bivin thought that Hralib was treating his mother poorly, wouldn't he be honor bound to take revenge?

Ruffialo was one of Hralib's rivals. He has the strength to kill him, and the motivation. He wants to be the next Governor of Anarinuell, and perhaps killing Hralib was his way of proving he is up to the task.

Anorna is a jealous little slave of Ruffialo's, who does nothing but suck up to her master. If she thought her master wanted Hralib dead, she'd have made it so.

Round One Conceal

Keeli was an officer in Zaridos' Predator Division, that got decimated during the war. The battle was a complete disaster. But it's not the Shamibelians she blames. Everyone knows that it seemed like Zaridos' battle plans got leaked to the Shamibelians.

Everyone knows that Keeli is fluent in Shamibelian, and that she used to be a slave before the invasion.

Keeli has been studying poisoning under Czar's tutelage. Bonduins have poison down to an art form. You can give a man a little and kill him slowly, or a lot, and draw it out. You can bring about suffocation, or you can make a man bleed from the eyes. Keeli finds it all very fascinating.

Keeli Round Two

Round Two Reveal

Rodiste has a slash mark on his face--could that have happened during a struggle with Hralib last night while he was committing murder?

Vitara Fissia lived on the edge of poverty because her husband Hashi, Hralib's son, never had enough talented slaves to work her lands, or fill her shops. Hashi stands to inherit all of his father's slaves when he dies, so might not his wife gotten tired of waiting for him to get slaves of his own, and killed Hralib so that they could inherit?

Throgana was Hralib's favorite slave, and his devotion to her often earned her the anger of his wives, especially Pevifa.

Pevifa was livid when Hralib not only married Nobifa but decided to take her to Anarinuell with them. She has always seen herself as the First Lady of Anarinuell, and to have her position usurped by Nobifa was something she never forgave in Hralib.

But how could a weak woman like Pevifa abduct, drown, and kill Governor Hralib? She must have had help. From a lover, perhaps? Or from a slave?

Everyone knows that Throgana took Emma under her wing as one of Hralib's new slaves, and that the two were very close. Why would Emma kill her friend?

Everyone knows that Emma was one of Hralib's favorite slaves, and that he often praised her for discarding her noble ways and actually learning a craft at which she could make herself useful. Why would Emma kill her master, when he was so good to her?

Round Two Conceal

Keeli knows that it was routine practice, when she served under Zaridos, for them to stray from the plan so that their division could get to the fighting first and take all the glory. Zaridos would typically send word to Prince Savaren late, so that his reinforcements never got there in time.

Keeli knows that her brother-in-law is obsessed with the Firan slave girl Savanna and that he'd do anything to be with her. ANYTHING. Keeli finds this obnoxious--Czar is part Bonduin. He should not seek out women beneath him, like Firans.

Father Brizo has been smuggling children out of Anarinuell. Keeli has known about it, and wanted desperately to help him, but didn't want to blow her cover. Now she fears that he's in trouble. She hopes it's not too late for her to get involved.

Caree did not actually capture Keeli and sell her into bondage. Keeli volunteered to go.

Keeli is a double-agent. She has been working with Caree and others like her back in the Free Firan cities, to make way for a counter-invasion. Ideally, she should be working with members of the Underground Resistance here in Anarinuell, but she doesn't trust her identity with any of them. Not Zaridos, not Savaren, not Lucas, not Ladonna, Torianos or Jalil.

Caree is the only one who knows her true identity, and Keeli will use Caree as a go-between. Keeli is one of the only people who know Caree is not really a slaver, but a freedom fighter.

Round Two Props

Round Two Additional Goals

  1. Stage a fight with Caree in front of the Firans to convince others that you're not working together.
  2. Make Savanna look like a weakling and an idiot in front of Czar.
  3. Try to get Savanna sold to someone else so that she'll be away from Czar.
  4. Try to figure out Brizo's plans to help him without revealing yourself for a double-agent.
  5. Get ahold of some of the gate keys to make it easier to pave the way for a Firan counter-invasion
  6. Decide which Firan leader can be trusted
  7. Get ahold of some Shamibelian firebombs

Keeli Round Three

Round Three Reveal

Round Three Conceal

Caree, Tazira and Keeli know that a Firan counter-invasion is imminent, but only if they can give the signal that they have assassinated the Shamibelian leaders and key collaborators. They will give the signal by firebombing a major landmark in Anarinuell. Firan pilots are scouting for the flames, and if they aren't bright enough, they won't know to attack.

Round Three Additional Goals

  1. Organize an uprising in which the Shamibelian overseers must be assassinated at the same time
