Overview

Ladonna can be a pleasant girl, happy to talk about almost anything to anyone who will listen, but she can also be chilly and stand-offish. Generally, she works hard to earn respect from those she admires and trusts, though she often finds herself with her foot in her mouth by good-natured accident. Sometimes she can be rather slow, finding it hard to understand jokes -- her sense of humor is notoriously "off" -- and she never did bother to figure out how to sit still while figuring out complicated puzzles. This means she can move from one extreme mood to the next rather drastically, finding herself frustrated with how slow things sometimes move or how everyone seems to tease her. As an actress, her training has mandated that she be able to swing from emotion to emotion freely -- and swing freely she often does. Ladonna is unsure of how to act around children, so oftentimes she fumbles there.

Hauntingly beautiful, she seems to hold a hint of tragedy even when her face lights up with a vivacious smile. She is a delicate beauty, with high cheekbones and a thin nose. A fair complexion radically contrasts with her wide, dark, vivid blue eyes, eyes striking in color, clarity, and expressiveness. The perfect arch of her eyebrows and the sweep of her long sable lashes shade what genuine emotion her gaze may bestow. Glossy black hair glistens, paling her face and illuminating that fragile appeal. She has a dancer's frame, rigid posture and whispered curves which do not ripen into overt lushness. Her voice is a mellow song that climbs up and down scales with expert proficiency. Every movement seems to be aimed at expression; every moue, every twitch, so that what would perhaps be silence is instead alive with soft, breaking significance.

Ranks & Offices

  • Chimeran Minister of Entertainment

Family Life

Parents

Ladonna hardly remembers her mother because she was so young when Yasmina died. It didn't help that Alyosha would not permit the children to discuss their mother, or her profession. All Ladonna remembers is a few images, a pretty woman with honey-colored hair and bright blue eyes, laughing. As Ladonna has aged, she has found that remembering Yasmina is like grasping at straws; and from the stories she hears, the straws aren't worth grasping. Ladonna has all but written Yasmina off entirely.

  • Unknown father

Siblings

(All were of the Rabiashik family until it was disbanded in 42 A.U.

Rabianos, Ladonna's oldest sibling, is sometimes controlling, but Ladonna looks up to him, and tries hard to make him happy. He gives her jobs to do, and often tells her it is their duty to pay back the Iberiks & Rabiashiks for taking them in. Rabianos hates the way Paulina primped and flirted with the Iberiks when she lived there, and even now that Paulina lives at the White Dove Rising, working as a whore, he tells Ladonna to keep away from her. He's the closest thing she has to a father, and when he's in a good mood, dotes on her and buys her cakes and other treats. Rabianos has long been in the Old City and Ladonna was forbidden to see him for many years after his attempts to lure her there became more aggressive and less subtle. He hates that she married a waller, but of all the Rabiashik children, Rabianos seems to forgive Ladonna more than he forgives some of the others. He'll make his irritation known... but he'll also still talk to her. They haven't spoken in a while -- she hasn't messaged him since he brought problems of the OC to her husband's door.

Kamar is in many ways a smaller version of Rabianos. He even moved into the Old City at Rabianos' insistence. He doesn't like the jobs Rabi gives her, though, and sometimes her brothers argue about whether some task or another is too dangerous for her. This usually results in Ladonna grabbing the message or item and sneaking out as they wrestle for the answer. So long as she returns safely, there's no harm done, and Kamar never stays angry at her for long. She wishes he'd realize that she's not a baby anymore, and hopes that by completing the tasks Rabi gives her, she'll prove her worth. If only he wouldn't laugh at her clumsiness! Kamar is in and out of Ladonna's life nearly as much as Rabianos. He must keep exceedingly busy in the Old City, doing whatever he and Rabianos do, because Ladonna rarely sees him. He was shocked to hear that Ladonna had married and came out to the villa just after Saelus was born in 40 A.U. He seemd to like the baby, which was not very interesting at all to Ladonna.

Paulina is Ladonna's oldest sister, and was drawn to the lifestyle the Iberiks led as a moth to a flame. Paulina flirted, cajoled, and flattered as many treats and presents as she could out of the Iberiks while living there. She loved the delicious foods, sumptuous clothes, and beautiful decorations, and when it was time for her CoS, there was only one vocation that could give her a taste of that life. Ladonna isn't quite sure what it is her sister does at the White Dove Rising, but when she visits, Paulina shares tasty cakes and other treats with her, and sometimes lets Ladonna try on her soft silk clothes and sparkly jewelry. Paulina left the Dove after a raid and went to work at the Midnight Hour. She must've worked very, very hard because Paulina scraped together the remainder of Alyosha's two million steni fine and paid it off quickly! Wow! Ladonna tried to see her older sister whenever she could, but Paulina grew terribly busy and was arrested when the Club girls were brought in on charges of child abuse. Now, Pauli's a Dove again and had to pay another two million steni fine. Ladonna hasn't seen her since the scandal.. hopefully she's alright! And taking care of Ternesa.

Ternesa was the light to Ladonna's dark, at least in Alyosha's mind. Ternesa seems to do everything right the first time, from curtseying without losing her balance, to serving a tray loaded with dainty cakes and teas without sloshing it on the guests. Ladonna tries to not be jealous, but it's very difficult when Alyosha is always praising Ternesa right in front of the rest of them, she's even hinted that Ternesa might be placed in a royal household, if she minds her p's and q's. They grew close, very close, for a time... but that didn't last. Who knows what happened. Ternesa took a rather dramatic fall from grace, as the Rabiashik children tend to do in courses. She married an Old City man in the haffie Beyzo's house and had a handful of kids. Then, Ternesa started doing some stupid stuff. Sleeping in Lord Anzo Iberik's room. Eating poison while she was pregnant. Burning down a building in the Chimera district was the last straw and Clan Leader Torianos Elikista threw her out of the district, forced her to divorce Nestrini, and took the kid that was Chimeran. Ternesa gave birth to a third child unwed and Ladonna has avoided her. For good cause, too. In 42 A.U., Ternesa brought the Rabiashik house to shame -- she was sent to the White Dove and the family was dissolved. Clan Leader Ania was opaque in her reasoning for the disbanding. For a while, Ternesa's children lived at the Harror villa, but after a while, they went back to the Eagles. Ladonna can't bring herself to care enough to fight for them.

Zellonos is Ladonna's older brother and this is a fact of which she is often reminded. He tirelessly instructs the girl on right and wrong and preaches about nobles and how good the Iberik's are to have taken in their family. He means well of course, he cares for his younger sister very much and makes it obvious he doesn't wish to see her go down Paulina's path, toward the White Dove. Zellonos is a kind but strict older brother, and Ladonna knows she can always count on him if she really does need anything. He moved out to the Old City, but he came back into the walls and is working as a lawyer. He married Karlana Karik, an old friend of Paulina's from when they were children. Ladonna didn't like her very much then and now worries that Karlana will do everything she can to steal Zellonos away.

Marriage

  • Solan Harror. Solan and Ladonna met in 37 or 38 AU, just after she had lost her house. The man was very kind to her and over time, Ladonna began to look up to Solan. He looked out for her and kept her safe several times during times of turmoil. He would offer advice on who to speak to, when, and what to say to avoid problems. Ladonna trusted the Mer Harror. So, when her sister went missing during the coup-round up in 39 AU and Ladonna asked him where he thought Ternesa was, Solan suggested jail. Ladonna did not -quite- believe him, but the risk was too great. Judging by the rest of the judgements, she reasoned that if Ternesa WAS involved, she would be assumed guilty, too. Solan told Ladonna she needed to marry, quickly, in order to save herself ...so that was precisely what Ladonna did. On a summer's night in 39 AU, Ladonna became Mes Harror of the Chimera clan. He wanted a child, a son, and Ladonna managed to give him that after a little over a year of marriage. Ladonna insists that she cares for Solan, despite the age difference, perhaps even loves him. Sometimes, however, she can be terribly cruel; that may simply be the Rabiashik mean streak coming through, though. Lately, Solan's health has been deteriorating. Though the age difference has taken its toll on their personal interactions, having it shoved in her face has rendered Ladonna more tender; she fears Solan's health taking a turn.

Children

  • Saelus Harror. On April 2 of 40 A.U., Ladonna gave birth to her first child, a boy. She went into labor in the temple of Eesha and was carried by Bashar to the Temple of Soli where she gave birth in the birthing chambers. Ladonna did not have a name for the kid and, generally, she still calls him "baby" or "boy" or "it" if she's feeling particularly cruel. That said, she was particularly happy to have provided her husband with a son (which he wanted desperately) and thus believes her wifely duties to have ended. The servants began calling the baby 'S' which eventually gave way to 'Saelus'. Solan may or may not have told them the name of the child, Ladonna has no idea, but if that's what the rest of the house is calling it, she supposes that works for a name. Ladonna is a rather notoriously bad parent; she doesn't have any idea what she's doing and the whole thing is rather horrifying. However, she tends to run hot and cold with Saelus. Sometimes she'll feel so horribly guilty that she's paying him 0 attention, she won't let ANYONE -- not even Solan -- near the baby while she coddles and coos and smooches and pinches. This usually lasts five minutes, then she gives up again. Saelus has grown into an argumentative boy; he loves debate, he loves scholarly pursuits. He is very much Solan's son.

Accomplishments

  • The Play's the Thing!

Ladonna rather quickly became one of the celebrated actors of Anarinuell and has hosted many plays of varying style. She is also a prime candidate for entertaining jobs be they singing or dancing. She performed at Lucas and Akiva's royal wedding as well as Savaren and Teonia's -- and several other Royal events and so on. As time has gone on, and marriage occurred, Ladonna has withdrawn a little from such an overtly public life.

  • A son

Right off the bat, Ladonna gave birth to a son. Solan wanted a son. This, she presumes, means she will not have to get knocked up and go through that whole ordeal again. Job well done!

  • Chimera Clan Minister of Morale

Perhaps ridiculously, perhaps simply because of her fame as an entertainer, Ladonna was appointed as the Chimera Clan's minister of morale not long after Clan Leader Torianos took the medallion -- and not long after she was married into the clan (she began as an Eagle). Thus far, Ladonna has hosted a handful of events to make the clan's morale go up. Not down. Never down.

  • Festival Entertainment Coordinator & Entertainer

Ladonna has, for a few festivals running, been the Festival coordinator for Spring Festival and Fall Festival, working closely with Rasha Rissik and Xamori Teranzik.

  • Olympic Coordinator of 39 A.U.

Just before her marriage, Ladonna was the Coordinator of the Eagle clan's Olympic Games. She left the clan RIGHT before the events began, but she saw to it that everything was arranged and organized properly before she switched.

  • Beast Killer!!!

First Ladonna slayed a boar in the Oshta mansion, possibly saving at least a few maids and guards, in ONE MIGHTY BLOW! Then, a few weeks later, a turtle got loose in the Chimera Clan's orphanage. She knocked it out and captured the beast (suffering a few cuts at the hands of its snapping jaws), saving the children from almost certain slow and painful mauling.

  • Peace Adjudicator!!!

Ladonna has helped send a mob home using some innovative tactics -- but even more importantly, during the Fall Festival of 41 A.U., she helped cease a breach of peace at the hands of Lord Rodiste N'Gato and Mer Anarios. Anarios, an Eagle was on his way to wed a Hydran woman and the N'Gato proxy whipped the woman for disobeying orders. Before it spiraled out of control, Ladonna jumped up and cried out about festival peace. Rodiste stopped but it took some more adjudicating to get Anarios to lay low. But success! And so forth.

  • Fire SLAYER.

Just before war season in 42 A.U., a Festival tent in Sarkaren caught fire. Or was set on fire. Whatever. Ladonna dashed to the scene, gathered the sand and water to put it out, and... put it out! One of a few, she was the first on the scene and quick to jump in. HEROIC? maybe?! She was recognized publicly by Lord Donos Ista Aldrik for her assistance.

  • The War of 42 A.U.

Ladonna was involved in the Liberation of Ellish in 42 A.U. as a conscript -- but she still managed to throw herself into the fray and accomplish more than what other nonconscripted sentries do. At the very start of the war, her skills were put to the test -- she and a few others went on a scouting mission into the hills surrounding Ellish to provide the generals with a map of the area. The mission lost one, Kendra, but was a success. Ladonna returned with the first map, handed it to the First General, and was labeled a great help. A week or so later, she was given command of the Firan archers during one of the sieges and executed such command with a surprising intelligence. At the front, Lord Donos said in front of the entire camp that her actions had set her apart and he would speak to the Viceroy upon his return to the city. Not long after that incident, Lord Donos and Lord Marsalos entrusted her with the creation of a rain song and dance to ask Zin for his favor.

The rest of the war kept in close line with her prior actions. At the first battle for Fort Zayes, she was targetting by several archers and did not go down until Donos gave the order to push back. At the first battle at the walls for Ellish, she was the archers' second commander, ready to step in if theirs fell. She let loose her arrows swiftly and, despite being a hot button for one certain Shamibelian, managed to survive.

Scandals

  • Her mother

Yasmina having children -- and keeping children -- was, naturally, a little scandal. Of course, that does not compare to the rather large amount of rocky terrain Yasmina found herself in with the Teddi Dilarik Scandal, which would forever alter the course of the Rabiashik childrens' lives. They were fostered with the Iberik Family after Yasmina was killed and then taken in by their Aunt Alyosha (nee Dilarik) and Uncle Paulos, Yasmina's brother.

  • Childish mistakes

Ladonna was prone to misstepping every so often, overshooting her ambitions and misunderstanding her place. Many of the problems she has found herself in are because of an old confusion of who is who, what is what, and acceptability. With Yasmina as a mother, something which the entire city seemed to remember for whatever reason, a stigma plagued Ladonna and she did not realize it until after she had already managed to irk. Most of these mistakes have been smoothed over by now, though not without Ladonna ruffling a few feathers along the way.

Sadera was once a Harror, evidently a cousin of Solan's. A cousin Solan didn't tell Ladonna anything about until a few months after the wedding... when the entire Harror family was arrested for questioning about slaving. Ladonna never even met Sadera and she's terribly fuzzy on the details. Ultimately, the entire family was declared innocent, Sadera was cast out, and the Harrors just tried to forget about her. The Clan Council deemed her guilty and the Religious Council soul deathed her. Too close to severe problems in Ladonna's mind. Way too close.

Priapa Davocelli, a Cockatrice Clan hero, was discovered with no will. Ladonna and Clarissa Anivarin wrote up a document that left nearly everything Priapa owned to her children. Rikon made a judgement enacting the will before it was discovered forged. Upon discovery of the womens' deceit, Donos sent both women to the front for one month and then sentenced them to join the military until they did something heroic. The war season of 42 A.U. was deemed heroic and Ladonna was released from the binds of her sentence.

Miscellany

Likes

  • Cakes

Ladonna has a little sweet tooth for cakes -- especially if Rabianos is the one giving them to her! She doesn't generally keep them in the pantry, mostly because they go too quick.

  • Ferrets

They're cute, fuzzy, and completely worthless. Ladonna must have at least one.

  • Booze, Money, etc.

She started life an Eagle. She likes her wine, she likes her luxury.

Dislikes

  • Kids

How do you act around them?! Are they little grown-ups? Do you have to baby them? What do you DO?! Ladonna has no idea. No idea whatsoever and, dear god, she'd rather just avoid the entire situation. She is terrified of letting them do things that might be dangerous not because she fears what will happen to the kid, but because she's worried that that's WRONG WRONG WRONG and she'll be hauled off to jail. On the other hand, she really hates it when people baby them. What to do? Ignore them, that's what.

  • Jail

The guard. Jail. The guard. Jail. They all go hand in hand to Ladonna and she really isn't a very big fan of jail. She prefers to avoid it, if at all possible.

  • Dogs

A surefire way to get Ladonna to positively freak out is to bring a dog around. She hates them.
