Official Statement

My name is Ladonna Samiroon, slave of Lainath, and I strive to be worthy. It's ridiculous to suggest that I had anything to do with Governor Hralib's death. He was one of my best customers! As you know, I'm a dancer and a singer, and an entertainer. I go everywhere, and I see everything. So I've heard a thing or two. It seems to me that the person who killed Throgana must also be the same person who murdered Hralib, and there's only one person here who hated Throgana--that's Katriana. She blamed Throgana for her children's death and wanted revenge.

Background

It isn't the first time Ladonna's known pain and shame. It didn't keep her down then, and it isn't keeping her down now. What's a few bumps and bruises or even the occasional whipping? As long as she doesn't get outright killed, she'll be able to keep doing what she has to do...

Goals

1. Avoid being caught for murder by pinning it on someone else
2. Perform a satirical poem or song about each of the Shamibelian masters.
3. Seduce Orsatos for information
4. Pass coded messages, in songs, between rebel leaders.
5. Be the perfect slave girl for Master Lainath, so that he never suspects a thing
6. Find a way to let Saelus know you're his mother and you love him
7. Find a way to get Saelus away from Katriana and have him smuggled out of Occupied Anarinuell

Ladonna Round One

Round One Reveal

Ladonna knows that Gilin stole Tatomir's Ring of Hate. Whenever she wore it, it made her enraged and murderous. Murderous enough to kill Hralib, for sure.

Katriana was thrilled to be sold to Forlanis, and eager to get away from Hralib and Throgana, whom she hated. If Forlanis told her to kill them, it would be Katriana's pleasure to do so.

Katriana is a crazy bitch. She is trying to convince Ladonna's son, Saelus, that she is really his mother. She's gone round the bend since her children died, and she's certainly capable of murder. She's really unfit to be caring for a child, quite frankly.

Round One Conceal

Ladonna is the Mata Hari of the resistance movement, and carries messages between the Firans in coded songs. It's a dangerous job, but someone has to do it.

Ladonna knows that the resistance is led by the princes (Lucas, Savaren, and Zaridos) as well as Torianos and Jalil.

The rebellion intended to kill Hralib to sew confusion just before the Firans launched a counter-invasion against Anarinuell.

Hralib felt as if Ladonna had an unaturally strong attachment to her son, Saelus, and that she'd make a better slave if the boy were sold off to someone else. So, he suggested to Lainath that he sell the boy to Forlanis. Ladonna has always hated Hralib for it.

Katriana has never stopped grieving for the sons she lost, that Hralib killed because they were sick. Once Forlanis bought Saelus, and made Katriana take care of him, she has it in her mind that the boy is really her son. Ladonna cannot bear to see her supplanted in her son's life by this strange woman.

Father Brizo is also involved in the rebellion. He has been sneaking children out of Anarinuell in wine barrels. Unfortunately, last night, the Shamibelians caught on. After Brizo left his latest wine barrels with a slave at the border, to dispense to the Shamibelian army, he received a message from his contact saying that "Two dead rats were found in your barrels--Hralib may no longer trust your vintage."

Gilin gave Ladonna a ring she stole from Tatomir, because she said it made her violent and unstable. Ladonna promised to find out what it was. Ladonna took the ring to the person she was sure to be an expert on every useless bit of trivia known to mankind--Orsatos.

On the Night of Obala's Pride, Ladonna set out to poison a man.

She laid in wait for him outside the Great Library (which Hralib was clearing out to make into a mansion for his second wife Nobifa).

When she saw him, she seduced him. Then, when he was relaxed, she held a poisoned cloth over his mouth, and waited until he fell dead. When he did, she took his things.

Round Two Reveal

Ladonna is not having an affair with Savaren. Why does everybody think that?!

Lainath told Ladonna that Tazira is secretly of quarterbreed blood, because her mother was raped by a young Shamibelian raider.

Nobifa was having an affair with Malentez Samiroon. Could Hralib have found out about it, and been on the verge of killing her for the insult to his honor?

Lainath wants to marry Tabitha Tibenya, Hralib's step-daughter.

Hralib forbid Lainath from marrying any of his step-daughters, because he is a quarterbreed, and Lainath is particularly violent against those who discriminate against him. Lainath is a good warrior too--Hralib beat him a few times during challenges, but Lainath was young and getting better all the time. He could have killed Hralib, especially if he took him unawares.

Ladonna knows that Osirus received a messenger in the wee hours of the morning and refused to say what it was about. Might it have been a message from a co-conspirator?

Zaridos feels guilty that he may have lost Anarinuell to the Shamibelians and would be eager to get revenge and redeem himself by killing Hralib.

Ladonna knows that Orsatos had Tatomir's Ring of Hate, and that it made any Firan who wore it violent and murderous.

Ladonna heard that Orsatos completely blacked out the Night of Obala's Pride. Might it be guilt for killing his master?

Ladonna doubts Jalil killed Hralib, because he cautioned against it. He knew about the Shamibelian law that if a master is murdered and the killer is not found, all of his slaves are considered conspirators and put to death. Jalil did not want to risk his daughter's life that way.

Ladonna went to the Great Library last night around 11:30PM. Orsatos should have been guarding the place for Hralib--but he wasn't doing his duty. Was he in on some kind of plan to kill his own master?

Round Two Conceal

Although the Rebellion planned to kill Hralib to create confusion, Ladonna hadn't heard a concrete plan yet as to when Hralib should die.

Akiva has been running a very lucrative underground permit forgery operation. If Hralib was about to uncover it, Akiva would have had to kill him to save her own life. Ladonna knows, because she has been delivering permits for Akiva.

Ladonna frequently delivers permits to slaves when she visits their masters to sing songs and entertain. But it's actually Akiva who is the permit forger.

When Ladonna came to ask Orsatos about Tatomir's Ring, he stole a few of her permits. They were forgeries, and Ladonna needed to get them back, in case he showed Hralib. Orsatos is such a traitorous Shami-loving bastard.

Worse, Ladonna's cipher was in those permits. If Orsatos cracked the code, he'd tell Hralib, and then the old goat would be on to the whole operation of the rebellion.

Ladonna went to Savaren to tell him that Orsatos stole her cipher and she was determined to get it back.

She knew she had to kill or be killed, so Ladonna went to Czar and told him a sob story about men trying to take advantage of her. She asked about some Bonduin poisons. He gave her a poison he said would kill instantly if she held it against a man's face. But Ladonna knows, the poison didn't work.

Ladonna knows that Brizo is smuggling children out of Anarinuell. She wants him to smuggle her son, Saelus, back to the Free Firan Cities. But first, she has to get the child away from Katriana.

Round Two Props

Round Two Additional Goals

1. Find a way to get weapons for the resistance without getting caught
2. Convince Savanna to make some new weapons for the Firan Resistance
3. Stockpile poisons to use when the uprising begins
4. Convince the other rebels that Orsatos is working against them and they should kill him.

Ladonna Round Three

Round Three Reveal

Jalil has been seeking a very strong concentration of poison, which, when ingested, causes a quick death.

Ladonna knows that Aldrin feared Emma would become a Shamibelian collaborator if she stayed with Hralib much longer and was convinced he needed to save her soul.

Ladonna heard that Hralib had a flask of poisoned fertility potion on his body when they found him, but she was singing at the party most of the night and she never saw him take a drink. She doubts that's what killed him.

Ladonna is a musician, and she tends to walk all over the place without being stopped. One night, when she was outside Anorna's tent, she heard her saying something about poisoning fertility potions and putting someone out of his misery.

Round Three Conceal

It was Orsatos that Ladonna tried to kill. She seduced him, then held the poison over his face. So why is he still alive?

Good news is, at least she got her permits and the cipher back.

Round Three Props

Round Three Additional Goals

1. Make sure that, whatever happens with the murders, it doesn't undermine the resistance. Whoever else has to be sacrificed. Maybe someone has to take one for the team.
2. The cipher could be compromised. Work on a new one.
