DAME LATTA NESHAREN

Latta Nesharen was raised a Griffon in a Gold Dragon city -- in Anarinuell, where her family settled after the Great War. As a child she was told stories about the way life was before, back then, when there were many cities and many people to occupy them, but would never live to see such a day herself. She died fighting for her clan, though, and for that dream -- but one of many dreams she cherished.

Latta believed in heroism -- in right and wrong and truth and honor. She became a pilot in pursuit of these ideals and, as a warrior with limitless dedication and possibility, devoted herself to her clan and republic. Clan Leader Judanarius recognized this potential when she was yet a young adult and awarded her the title of 'sharani', that she may grow up to serve the Griffon clan and its heirs. Though mocked as a baby -- unseasoned and poorly-suited to her high rank -- she was driven to prove herself a hero and a leader, and did so unfailingly.

Dame Latta endeavoured to be many things in life: a mother, a soldier, a priestess, and a wife. At the end of all things, not only was she a sharani, but also a general in charge of the Republic air force -- a leader at long last, respected and proud. She died fighting for Scirlut, for the past (and past wounds) and an age she never had the privilege to know, but that she'd always wanted to see again. When she fell in combat, a grand flight of doves surrounded her; they covered her body, and gave her peace. It's said that a great wind swept through Scirlut that day, for Uf was angry and sad and had lost a loyal, giving priestess.

Latta was put to rest in Anarinuell, and was there mourned as well. She is survived by her father, Nicodemus, her siblings, Vinicius and Yokus, and her children, Lakur, Udana, Charis, Dmitir, and Talin.
