Legal System

The Firan legal system is a precarious balance between Clan Leader, Republic, guard, judge, lawyer and criminal. At the head of the Firan government sits the Ranivor. For many years, this role has been filled by a Viceroy who remains the representative of the Republic. It is surrounded by an eight clan legislature with one chieftain from each clan as a representative. The Clan Council oversees only the very serious crimes and it is up to each clan leader to dispense justice within their clan. Sometimes, crimes come under the realm of the Religious Council as well. One can see that with all these power bases it's possible for several of these groups to be at odd during any one time.
It is not possible to summarize every nuance of the legal system in one wiki page. Hopefully the information here will help give a good overview of what is available.
