Legendary Log
From FiranMUX
Savanna steps inside, looking about, arriving, unlike many nobles, with not a single bodyguard. Perhaps she prefers being without.
The older man is bustling about the shop, rapping a small tap on the counter as he moves about. There are swatches of many colors of silk on the counter. When Amiana speaks, Garmon looks up, opening his arms with a small bow, "Well, hello there My Lady!" He gives her a nod an a handsome smile, "How may I help you?"
Savanna smiles brightly, "Are you Mer Garmon? I am Lady Savanna, and we exchanged messages. I was going through my wardrobe, and every single thing I have is either white or green, which I do love, or pink, which I do not, and black, it seems, is the popular color these days. Plus," she confides, "I think I might be blessed, and black hides so many imperfections!"
Garmon tilts his head and says, "Well, most of the women that have come in here have been blessed, I have been doing a lovely design for the blessed women." He smiles and says, "But generally that was to accommodate the belly, but you don't seem to have one as of yet." He chuckles and adds, "I am sure though that black is the most beautiful color.." He moves to pick up the black swatches and reaches over to place it near her cheek, "Yes, it does indeed do wonders for her complexion!"
Savanna grins, "No, no belly as yet, but that will come eventually, I suppose. And of course, being blessed is a wonderful excuse for new-clothes buying, is it not?" She studies the different shades of black (who knew there were more than one?) "Oh, does it? My husband bought me a wonderful sapphire necklace, is it possible to have a touch of blue--just a touch, it isn't my favorite color, put in? He gets so hurt when I don't wear his gifts."
Garmon thinks on this and says, "Well, yes. I can do that." He plays with the different swatches, placing them against her cheek and catching the perfect shade of sapphire blue. "Well, I think that would be very nice. Yes indeed!" He reaches behind him to place the silk pieces on the counter again, "Well, Lady Savanna, I wonder, what -is- your favorite color?"
"Green," is the prompt answer, "it's so peaceful, pretty, and there are so many different shades of it. You can be cheery or somber or elegant or fun." Yes, Savanna is an Eagle, and it shows. "Oh, that is pretty, isn't it."
Garmon thinks on this and tilts his head, "Well, then.." He whistles while he works and starts to match the sapphire and the black hues together. He gives the woman a grin and says, "Well, would you like to match the sapphire and green?" He starts to match different shades of green with sapphire against that black swatch. "I would say that you go with sparkling green, perhaps..this one," He holds up a deeper emerald color and then pulls up the lighter jade color, "With some swirls of this.." He muses, before he pulls a larger piece of black silk and starts to drape it about her shoulders, "Forgive me, I need to know how much to cut.' His green eyes sparkle at her with great passion.
Savanna admits, "That would allow me the choice of which jewelry to wear as well, but they do not clash? Too many colors all at once--I don't know. What do you think?" After all, it might work!
Garmon shakes his head, "Oh, absolutely not My Lady." He nods his head with a guesture of dismiss, "These colors are most beautiful together anyway." He smiles and says, "I think you would look lovely in some alternative colors, and these two colors do indeed work very nicely together. This is so that you can wear your husband's gift, but then, have your own color palette as well." He chuckles, "Compromise! See?"
Savanna chuckles, "Well, I suppose that it is indeed a compromise. I will let you work your magic then, because the outfit I saw on Lady Xamori was stunning."
Garmon chuckles and shakes his head, "Well, Lady Savanna, if you saw somethinf of mine on the Lady Xamori, you can be assured that the outfit was made with the upmost of quality. Now..let's get your measurements." He reaches behind him for a rope with measured knots on it and guestures for her to raise her arms, "I want to make sure this is an outfit tailored to you. So that it will fit you with perfection." He wraps the rope lightly around her waist with a nod, he writes the measurements on a papyrus.
Savanna obediently lifts her arms, puppet to be measured--but how else will the finished outfit be made to fit?--"Oh, wonderful. You've been tailoring for awhile, haven't you? How did you choose the profession?"
Garmon chuckles and says, "I have been tailoring since I was old enough to hold a needle and thread." His eyes light with passion as he speaks. He moves to wrap the rope around her chest, though his hands are carefully kept at a distance from anything improper. He nods towards the measurements and continues his talking, as if conversation and measuring should go together always, "To be honest, I didn't really choose the profession, it chose me. That's when you know you will love what you do." He smiles lightly and says, "My mother taught me to sew and I just seemed to have a Kamnestra blessed talent for it in my fingers."
Savanna nods understandingly, "Yes, I can see exactly how that would come about then. My mother does armoring, but it isn't considered an appropriate profession for a noble--even though the two very best in the city? Are noble. Ironic, is it not? So I am to learn other things, more suitable."
Garmon finishes up the last of his measurement, having listened to her, though he is measuring the length of her shoulders, around her legs and then, the length of her feet for slippers. "I must say that I am most definitely happy to do the work I do. I get to meet such FABULOUS people like yourself, My Lady and then of course, I get to make beautiful clothing." he nods and says, "Okay, I think I have all the measurments that I will be needing for your outfit. Now, would you like me to add anything else to the design?"
Savanna considers, "I don't know. I favor ivy, so perhaps something with that, but it isn't necessary. I'll leave it in your capable hands."
Garmon nods his head and says, "Well, then I will definitely see what I can do for you. I will have this to you in no time." He smiles and says, "I do appreciate you coming by, I would ask you to excuse me, I have to go check on my newest daughter, she is still trying to settle in." He gives her a genuine clap of his hands and says, "I will have you looking FABULOUS in no time!"
Savanna nods, "Of course. Congratulations, and I shall leave you to your work." A bright smile, somewhat anticipatory. New clothes!
