Log: Operation Urban Renewal Mission 5

Commander Tagda has issued a challenge to the Shamibelians in their camp, and it is met by the tightening of hands on spears, the sliding song of drawn swords, and the rumble of laughter in the depth of the priest's chest. Namizik says, with the dancing fire casting flickered shadows across the crags of his orange-skinned face, "We shall see." With the failure of negotiations, the Shamibelians are ready to fight. "Keep hold of those prizes, men! These Firans wish to show us how they die!"
Marsalos hears the command from Tagda and his shoulders stiffen. His jaw is tense with displeasure, one hand curling. He turns his head and calls to the large Bonduin nearby. "Gaddineez! Grab their weapons and get them over there! We need them in this!"

In the back, on each captive Firan, there are two guards. They stand ready -- not to fight, but to harm the hostages. "Don't come closer, Firan 'soldiers'," one mocks. "We'll cut their puny ears off!" To demonstrate, one of the guards reaches for Zutrik's hair and yanks it back, sword to the temple, geeeeeeeeently slicing along the side of his ear. It is not a threat to take lightly! Two guards on Gemma, on Rodiste, and each has a sword. Each is prepared to use it.

Ligront and Omgarack draw their swords, holding them ready to face what the Firans throw at them. They do not throw themselves at the Firans.

Gaddineez tightens his grip on his spear, he has bound up his broken wrist tightly. Gaddineez turns his eerie black gaze towards Marsalos, offering a nod to the lord, he shifts his grip on his spear and moves to grab up the weapons before he turns to charge towards the enemy, his left hand gripping his spear, ready to plow through the enemy, spearpoint first, ready to poke and prod and bully his way through and around as many of the shamibelians he can to toss the weapons to those behind the lines. Gaddineez moves with quick feet, moving to duck and dive around strikes to his person. "GET YOUR WEAPONS!" He bellows *Firan*

Rodiste narrows his eyes at Namizik, glancing over his shoulder at the other Shamibelian who is standing there with a sword. He is still captive and then glances to Gemma, "This is it." and then glances to Zutrik and snorts, "Stay behind me, brother..." and with that Lord Rodiste drops his shoulder and kicks a leg back, using his smaller size to his advantage as he attempts to escape!! *Firan*
Marsalos raises his sword, headed for the Shamibelians who come forward against the smaller team of Firans.
COMBAT: Namizik tries to engage Gondarus, but fails.
As Namizik aims his attack on him, Gondarus decides to do a dance, evading two goats with four steps. Despite the aggression, he takes no action without hearing from Marsalos, whilst his eyes are trained on the captives in peril. When Marsalos begins to engage, he joins directly.

Gondarus is looking a little raggled.
Gemma snarls as she is held back by the goats. After being offered up for the sword by Tagda, Gemma was no longer the quite, blank-stared savage she had been. Mashing her teeth together, she began to struggle as best she could. Any words from Rodiste were ignored, and she began to rock violently back and forth, pulling forward against the guards that were holding her back. The hit to the chest stalled her only briefly, but she immediately began throwing herself forward once again, desperately attempting to free herself.

Gemma's captors snort and hold onto her easily. They even shake her a little. "Puny Firan!"

The priest himself wades forth towards the fray, his eyes dark and hard as he considers the Firans he may attack. As Gaddineez surges forward, the Shamibelian's scowl deepens and he raises his hand as he strides toward the Bonduin, his skin a-glow and orange in the firelight. Whatever muttered words he speaks, they are for Obala.

Zutrik hears his brother, and more importantly....SEES his brother. He grins then, ignoring the sword against his helmet along his face. He suddenly moves to /jump/ up and back into the Shamibelian holding his head, trying to drive the bigger Shamibelian off his feet, or kick him on the way back down, either or.

Her attempts at escape useless, Gemma continues to buck forward anyway, trying at least to throw the captors off-guard. Raising her foot, she swings it backwards, aiming for a knee or some other fleshy portion of a goat leg.

Gondarus manages to encircle the priest, a broad sword tilted unpleasantly toward his neck as he engages.

Emma rushes towards the priest after taking an arrow to her arm, failing at any useful engagement. She sneers, sidesteps, then attempts to make another go.

Rodiste snorts, laughing or not, he just continues to do everything in his POWER to break free from the two Shamibelian guards. His shocking blue eyes are scanning the horizon of fighters, looking as he frantically attempts to slink free from their impossible grasps.

Emma finally gets in position to attack the priest, and she slices at his chest fiercely. With her FIERCE sword. At the sparks that fly, her eyes widen - but she tries not to let it distract her too much, amazing and frightening as it is.

Gemma growls in frustration as every attempt to break free fails. Finally, she attempts to twist her body to the right and drop down on one knee hoping the sudden turn and drop of her body will cause the Shamis to release her.
Gemma's Shamibelian watches her go down and rather lets her. His comrade on the other side quickly bends to gather her back up -- nothing doing.

Zutrik kicks, but it doesn't seem to do much good. He then figures if it's only his /hair/ that's being pulled on....why not try just dropping down to the ground? &ch&ccHe turns himself into dead weight, trying to physically throw himself on the ground. Hair can always be regrown, after all.

Luckily for Gaddineez, the priest's zappy lightning has yet to hit home. The flashes in the air crackle hotly amidst the dark and the firelight.

Gaddineez manages to keep away from the flashes of lightning, thank Ulashanai, but the arrows that are sent his way are stuck in his body and armor, blood trickling down the bonduin's frame as he ushers his way through, hurrying and trying to attack at teh same time. "GET FREE!" *Firan*

Obviously, Zutrik isn't going to be able to power out of the grasp he's under. However, he can be wriggly as well! So, taking a page from Rodiste's book, he begins to rapidly struggle and flail, trying to squirm out of the grasp he's being held by!

Gemma laments her fumble, growling through her teeth. Her body immediately stiffens as the sword is drawn across her, but she snarls and hisses at the goat. "I am NOT a Firan, Goat!" Struggle was all but impossible now, with the sword across her. *Ticanee*

The Shamibelian holding Rodiste snorts and shakes the man, drawing his sword over his body. "Stupid Firan," he snarls at him.

Gaddineez slams his spear with an audible sound into the priest's back. The blow looks like it was a horrid hit that the bonduin ravages the priest with, but it doesnt quite do the priest in. Gaddineez growls in annoyance, continuing to fight and defend with one arm while the other holds the weapons

Gaddineez slams his spear into the priests thigh and drops him to the ground before he then turns to the next nearest opponent, his eyes showing his anger. "FECKER" Gaddineez growls out before pressing into the fray, fight or die. *Firan*

"RODISTE!!! Didn't the priest have IT?!" Gemma suddenly exclaims upon seeing the priest fall, and pushes back against the Shami holding her with all her might.

Gaddineez slams his spear a couple of times into Ligront, though Gaddineez gets a hit to his calf in the process. Gaddineez shakes off the pain to continue through. "YOUR WEAPONS! COME GET THEM" He bellows to the captives *Firan*

The priest of Obala falls in a heap and a drape of blood-sodden robes, face down. He fell mid-roar, calling down a curse of some kind -- but what it was the world may never hear. If the sword is on him still, it is not immediately visible in the dark beneath his bulk.

Emma grits her teeth when the priest wakes back up. "Die, damn you!" she screams, slicing at him wildly. *Firan*

Emma is looking critically messed up.
"Gondarus!" Marsalos shouts as he sees the man go down. Gaddineez he sees out of the corner of his eye and he grits his teeth.
COMBAT: Zilkarth aims his short bow and hits Marsalos with his iron arrow. COMBAT: Marsalos takes a hit to the left forearm! Marsalos is looking like he is on his last limb. Marsalos collapses on the ground, becoming motionless.
Upon seeing the priest fall, Gemma very suddenly bucks backwards into the Shami holding her captive, and throws her head back, trying to headbutt the Goat.
Emma attempts to back away to step in front of Gondarus.
COMBAT: Emma is now defending Gondarus. Emma starts following Unconscious Gondarus.
Unconscious Gaddineez gets caught with a pretty decent blow to his shin and he drops down, the weapons he was trying to usher through the lines are dropped as he falls hard into the dirt, a grunt following his departure from the fight

Unconscious Marsalos was turning to shout at...something. When an arrow tears his arm and throws him backwards onto the ground with a hard crash.
COMBAT: Claguck aims his short bow and hits Unconscious Gondarus with his iron arrow. COMBAT: Unconscious Gondarus takes a hit to the left bicep! Unconscious Gondarus is looking like he is going to be crippled for good.
Ligront and Omgarack keep plugging away, but when their opponants drop, they don't immediately leap in to slay as might have been expected.
COMBAT: Zilkarth aims his short bow at Emma! Emma is also engaged with Namizik and Mrabnas.Emma is also aimed at by Dhast.
COMBAT: Zilkarth stops aiming at Unconscious Marsalos.
COMBAT: Phlegmik gets into position to attack Rodiste.
Zutrik can't seem to get loose at all, and so he tries the next best thing. He turns, trying to bite at any exposed skin on either of his guards! Zutrik HUNGRY!

Emma is looking like the walking dead.
The priest struggles to regain his feet, bloody and fierce. He points an unerring finger at Emma, his eyes ablaze in the chaos of the battle. "Wait," he roars. (He doesn't actually shoot sparks at her and knock her unconscious. That was a trick of the light.) "You see that all of your companions are fallen, woman," he tells her. "I give you one chance to return to your leader with our terms. Carry our request for free worship of Obala, or join your fellows now. Choose!"
The guards in the back slap their charges around -- enough to hurt, but not enough to do real damage. They call out, "Want an ear?" in a taunting, cruel fashion to the Firans.
Gemma snarls as she is slapped around, snapping her teeth at any hand that gets close to her mouth, but not actually trying to bite anyone. That was pretty much pointless at this point.
Rodiste struggles and doesn't break free, "THATS FINE! BRING THE MESSAGE BACK TO COMMAND EMMA!" he bellows as LOUD AS HE CAN! *Firan*
Emma glances all around her at the fallen Firans, panting and sweaty from battle. Her pride is shaken, but her eyes blaze with defiance. She grips her sword, knuckles white, lips drawn taut. Her arm flexes, it looks as though she's going to put up a last stand, but all at once she just drops the sword back down to her side. "Fine," she crackles hoarsely. "I will... relay your message, if you show me that you are not going to harm them." She jabs a shaking finger at the unconscious Firans. *Firan*
The priest grins in a show of teeth which may or may not be reassuring. "They have our hospitality," he says, turning a hand outward over the fallen bodies. "Soldiers," he calls aloud, "secure our new guests."
Emma watches the guests as they are secured, then speaks once more to the priest. "What is the exact message? I wouldn't want anything to get," she pauses, clenching a fist, "lost in translation." *Firan*
Omgarack and Ligront let the spears keep the newly fallen captives in their sights while the pair of swordsmen work with deft skill at securing them with ropes, removing any weapons from their bodies that they find.
Gaddineez pops his eyes open and he moves to struggle
The priest gives her a dark look, measuring. He says, "We wish the freedom to worship Obala, to be welcome in the pantheon of your gods to pray and serve our God, to teach his ways. In exchange for this, we will return the sword, the prize you value so highly. As a sign of our good faith, you may take your dead with you." He points at Kadia's body, laid out before the fire. After a moment's pause, sweeping the littered ground with his gaze and glancing back at the other captives, he grunts, "And the woman," and points at Gemma. "Take them and go."
Gaddineez struggles against his bindings and growls towards the priest. "Ulashanai ---- ----- Obala, ----- is nothing compared to the power -- Ulashanai!" *Bonduin*
Gemma blinks as she is pointed at, her brows furrowing. She stares long and hard at Rodiste, perhaps looking, in some way, for approval in this.
Emma kneels down to pick up Kadia, hefting the small woman over her shoulder with some effort. She wordlessly stares at Gemma, waiting for the woman to join her. Apparently she is done talking to the priest.
Marsalos squints a bit, the world still a little fuzzy from the bash to the head he took earlier. He can feel his arms bound behind him, his leg shifting on the dirt as he watches Emma pick Kadia up. At least there's that.
Gemma nods firmly at Rodiste, though there was hesitance in her step. She gives one final glance to him before joining Emma.
