Overview

Lady Lucretia IstaNydiam is without a doubt summed up in one word "infamous". While nobody might forget one of the Firgalik women, certainly, her rise to fame was heralded by her sudden marriage to Prince Sadin. Anarinuell was suddenly faced with the loudest, most sparkly and and squealing Princess to date. It was a marriage wrought with trials and tribulations and scandals that had Princess Lucretia banished and thought to have been gone from their world forever. It was not to be so. Against what is likely his better judgment, Prince Sadin ruled that Lucretia could return to the city and thus then Clan Leader Jalil offered her a place in his household as a Firgalik. That might have been against his better judgment as well. Lady Lucretia turned the Firgalik household upside down with her carefree attitude and her talent for behaving exactly as the littlest Firgalik sister should. In later years, her loyal bodyguard Atreides could attribute many of his grey hairs to this woman. In the coming years, the Firgalik mansion experienced so many delightful moments including the hallway being filled with quickly melting snow, a fort in the atrium created out of everything that wasn't bolted down in the house and Lucretia dancing in the fountain. Lord Proxy Argus seemed to spend as much time straightening out messes Lucretia made as he did on every other part of running the clan.

The second twist of fate that would define interactions between clans for years to come would be when Lucretia wed Lord Nydiam. At the time, he had recently just recently gone through a great ordeal in the Eagle Clan that ended with him threatening to host a lottery to kill babies. She handed him a flower and informed him she thought his interior policy could use a little work. They would end up married for only a short time. Prince Sadin held a trump card to end all trump cards...a wedding necklace and just when all seemed settled he presented it proving he was still married to Lucretia. From Princess, to outcast, to Lady to Princess...the Firgalik woman joined the fray in the Palace once more. It was here that one of the darkest times of her life shadowed over Lucretia. There she faced a Shamibelian war right on their doorstep and Prince Sadin fleeing off into the sunset once more. It was also in the Palace she witnessed the death of her dear cousin Lord Argus and would see her dear friend Lady Olena executed weeks later.

Lady Lucretia was never one to go down with the ship and as such she found her next life in Clan Leader Judanarius. The idea of a Gold Dragon Firgalik marrying a Griffon Clan Leader was probably absurd, nevertheless, after a time of courtship they were wed. The Griffons didn't love Lucretia but they didn't hate her...yet. No the dividing point of her time there was with the birth of their child Zayus. The birth of a new son through the Griffon Clan into a riot leaving Lucretia to escape on the back of a griffon into the night with her children. After that, she took a few months off from being married to make Jalil fairly miserable. Lucky for him, the now Cockatrice Clan Leader Nydiam and Lady Lucretia would cross paths again this time at the wedding of Lord Dedalion and Lady Lilana. That's when they spontaneously decided to get married bringing Lucretia to the Cockatrice Clan for the first time and where she has been ever since.

In recent times, since Lord Nydiam's death, Lucretia went off to Caldera only to return wed to Prince Sadin. It has caused a huge scandal that is now undergoing the Trial of the Century.

Ranks & Offices

Family Life

Parents

  • Mother: Lady Zeena Firgalik - Lucretia would speak of her mother as the most graceful, beautiful and noble woman that there ever was. A long while ago, Lady Zeena has disappeared (escaped if you ask some people). Oddly enough, Lucretia does not appear all that worried about her.

  • Father: Lucretia doesn't really care - who cares. He pillages, rapes and lights things on fire.

Siblings

  • Lady Leyla: Lucretia used to view her sister as the strong one. Lucretia was always the little one and Leyla the strong one but when she looks back on the years and knows now that Leyla ran off to marry Sadin...Lucretia has to admit she might have been the strongest of them all. There was a time, however, when Lucretia was sure that Leyla would knock anybody out who messed with her. She misses those days now that everyone is gone away. In their youth, Lucretia remembers tagging along next to Leyla. She was very smart - too smart for a Gold Dragon woman sometimes. Leyla had an endless feud with the Oshta Taria and Lucretia can recall her first few days in Anarinuell when she saw the two of them get into a cat fight with pulled hair and all. Many times, Lucretia is not prone to deep feelings so it would be hard to say what is going through her mind in regards to her sister. It was for Scirlut that Leyla left Anarinuell to go to Prince Sadin's side. It was then that they claimed to be married. Lucretia was pained every day of her life until she went to Caldera City. There the reminders of the marriage where all around her - but it was there that she discovered that she and Prince Sadin had been married all this time. Since then, Lucretia has not spoke of her sister and the words that passed in the great city.

  • Lord Ozer (d): Ozer was always the warrior in Lucretia's mind. He seemed to be a keen fighter and when he died she held on to one of his swords. This sword was gifted to Lord Atreides and was one of the weapons he took on the mission to kill Balthan that in turn killed the man. It is now back in Lucretia's possession waiting for it's next owner. While she doesn't speak on it often, in her more open times, Lucretia will admit that perhaps Ozer's death was no accident on the field. Perhaps, he was sent there to die having grown too big for his britches. Other times, she would not dare speak such words! Ozer's sword was passed on to Argin Elianik when he negotiated the rescue of his mother from the Shamibelians during the war in which they recaptured Ellish.

  • Lord Quentino (d): Quentino was Lucretia's tricky brother; he had a smart mind and she's pretty sure this is what got him killed. Gold Dragon men are supposed to just beat on things and she feels they are safer that way. He saw the clan leader of the Gold Dragons, Jalil, as a bane and as such threw in his lot to get rid of what he thought to be the person bringing the clan down. While he was able to run for a while, eventually, he was caught and executed. Lucretia did not have any time to say goodbye and this happened a bit before she came to Anarinuell.

  • Lady Arcadia (d): If Lucretia was the innocently zany sister, Arcadia was the zaniest sister ever. She was prone to strange oddities that made Lucretia look like a silly little girl in comparison. Still, she had some fashion sense and Lucretia really cared for her. Some people like to tell Lucretia that Arcadia died in a fire but Lucretia likes to pretend that didn't happen. If you pretend it didn't, then you don't have to acknowledge how bad you feel! In a way, it was probably too many unique personalities in one room as Lucretia had very little time to spend with her sister.

Marriage

Lucretia and Sadin
Lucretia and Sadin
  • Sadin: There was much scandal to be had about the first marriage of the Prince and Lucretia. Prince Sadin had gone to Caldera city where he was greeted by a mob of women who had seen his face on the currency and wanted very much to attract his attention. It was Lucretia, though, that he chose and it was Lucretia that he brought home as his wife. At first, Sadin could be considered to be nervous about his choice but over time her insistence to love him and her adoring nature won him over. One fateful day, Sadin went to the White Dove to participate in the auction of Lady Bounty, a new whore. What he found was what he thought was his own wife there. Due to the scandal, Lucretia was banished to Caldera City where she remained alone for a short time.

  • Nydiam: Lucretia met Nydiam shortly after his dark downfall in the Eagle Clan and his lottery to kill a baby every year. She told him that was a pretty bad idea and then gave him a flower. They ran off to the Oracle together and had to be summoned back on a griffon for Judanarius' trial for killing Eve. Both Argus and Zeysani were unsure about the pair but their love proved strong enough to have them wed. The marriage was fairly short when it was found that Prince Sadin had the wedding necklace from the previous marriage.

  • Sadin: The Religious Council ruled that Sadin and Lucretia were married, as such, Sadin arrived at the Firgalik Mansion to reclaim her. Torn between her love for Nydiam and Prince Sadin, Lucretia had another choice to make. Before she had been banished, Lucretia had become pregnant with a child, a son. Lucretia knew that her only chance to make Lucas into a acknowledged child was to make the best of this troublesome situation. As such, she bargained with Sadin that she would go with him without a fight if he immediately acknowledge Lucas as his own. After an argument, Sadin agreed and Lucretia returned to his side as his wife. Their marriage lasted through the Shamibelian Air Raids of 24 A.U. when Sadin was Acting Ranivor and Lucretia stood at his side as Acting Queen.

  • Judanarius: Lucretia met Judanarius socially following her divorce from Prince Sadin. While she never loved him fully, she found some safety and security following the many Shamibelian Air Raids within the Corinala Estate. She thought he was an interesting man and he had a penchant for law from which she learned a lot. Lucretia became pregnant with Lord Zayus and the Griffon Clan rioted at the idea of a Gold Dragon and Firgalik heir to the throne. In the dark of the night, Lucretia jumped on a griffon taking as many children as she could with her to safety. The marriage ended in a divorce.

  • Nydiam: After all those many marriages, Lucretia returned to the Firgalik Family. It was at the wedding of Lord Dedalion and Lady Lilana that Nydiam and Lucretia ended up at the same seat watching the ceremony. Suddenly, their love for each other was immediately rekindled and they announced their intent to marry and were wed there on the spot. It seemed as though this would be the final marriage for Lucretia and she settled down into the IstaNydiam Palace. During their marriage, Nydiam went through an incredible ordeal that left him much more physically aged than he would have normally been. Even then, as he stepped aside to let his daughter Diamia rule, she thought he was one of the bravest men she had ever met. Lucretia had been through such an ordeal herself at the hands of the Shamibelians that she could barely handle it when he died while fighting at the walls of Ellish.

Children

  • Tia: Lady Tia Firgalik is the first child of Lucretia and Sadin. Her birth was marked by the banishment of Lucretia to Caldera and as such for the first two years of her life she did not know her mother. Because of Sadin's inability to be an attentive father, some of this time was spent in the Istabannos home under the watchful eye of Lady Bashona. When Lucretia returned to the city, she fought long and hard to get time with her daughter and to keep her where she could still see her. However, Lucretia constantly roamed and much of Tia's life into adulthood and marriage were spent without the comfort of her own mother. One thing her mother did do, however, was negotiate her marriage to now Clan Leader Ojitar. It had been Lucretia's dream to see at least one of her children be vital to the Gold Dragon throne and she got her wish with that marriage. Unfortunately, Tia became afflicted with the mind sickness and went off to rest and recover. But, Tia is a Firgalik woman and Lucretia has no doubts that she will recover better than ever.

  • Lucas: Prince Lucas Elianik was born in secret while Lucretia was banished away from the city. When she returned to the city, he was smuggled in as the son of the Firgalik family nanny Sylvi. His identity would remain a secret to everyone except a few in the Firgalik Household including Lord Argus. When Sadin came back to reclaim Lucretia as his bride, she insisted that he acknowledge his son and make him a Prince. It's hard to deny Lucas is Sadin's son as he looks so very much like him. One of the banes of Lucas' life was that his mother constantly shunned him because he looked so much like his father.

  • Argin: Prince Argin Elianik was born under duress during a round of Griffon Raids. Lucretia bore him alone with the help of Princess Inaya as the midwife. Sadin had run off, again, to some far off place to escape the chains of marriage and life. To the annoyance of others, she named him after her cousin Argus. Despite the fact that Argin was known to be a bit of a handful in childhood, Lucretia maintains that he is a good and sweet little boy. She has fond memories of him sending love letters to then Princess Ania and running around at the Didoron mansion with a cup of wine screaming 'Look at me I'm the Clan Leader!'. Due to her travels, Lucretia was gone much of Argin's life as he grew up. When she returned, he was very much a man. It was Argin who rescued her from the Shamibelians and also attended when she went on a trip to Caldera City. Some might call him ruthless, but, Lucretia won't hear it.

  • Zayus: Lord Zayus Firgalik's life started out with riots when he was born to Lucretia. He is the Griffon son of a Gold Dragon clan and as such works very hard at fitting in. When Judanarius disavowed his son, it was Jalil who took him in as a Firgalik. As such, Zayus is extremely loyal to the Firgalik family and the Clan Leader. In truth, he thinks that all these pagans are tearing his mother away from the true faith and making her sinful. Lucretia, though, is oblivious to this and loves him and thinks he is a wonderful Gold Dragon.

  • Cecilia: Lady Cecilia was the only child born of Lord Nydiam and Lady Lucretia. She is unique among all of Lucretia's children as she inherited some of Nydiam's more interesting habits such as his dark brooding and his desire to steal ships. Lucretia had never been especially close to Cecilia leaving the girl to spend her childhood on her own. Recently, Lucretia took Cecilia on a trip with her to Caldera City and the two have suddenly grown close. Lucretia thinks Cecilia has grown into a fine young woman and is trying her best to push more social life on her. Depending on who you ask, she is Sadin or Nydiam's daughter. And unless forced, Lucretia just lets Sadin tell everyone what he wants. Cecilia is also the executioner for the Cockatrice Clan. Lucretia finds this to be a perfectly acceptable occupation.

  • Arthas: Prince Arthas was conceived in Caldera when Lucretia went to see Sadin. Lucretia went into labor with him in the middle of the Trial of the Century and had to excuse herself to give birth. Sadin believes the child's name is Elyas but he is wrong. The child is likely to have a very large complex over this. Despite the fact that nobody is sure who is married to who at this time, both Sadin and Lucretia recognize him as royalty.

Accomplishments

Never Gonna Keep Me Down

Lucretia is hard to get rid of. In all her years, she constantly returns flitting from scandal to scandal and jumping ship when things get rough. Despite being banished, she managed to return to the city and rebuild her reputation to the point where she became Acting Queen. Five to six marriages (depending on who you ask) and she's still going.

I Got It; You Don't

Lucretia has been clan royalty in the Gold Dragon, Chimera, Cockatrice and Griffon Clans. She has been proxy of the Gold Dragon, Cockatrice and Griffons clans as well as Acting Queen in the Chimera Clan. Two of her husbands were Clan Leaders and one is a Prince. It seems that Lucretia has no drought of famous faces or names to hang around her.

It's a Girl!

When the Kraken came to Anarinuell, Lucretia was sure it was a girl. She was so sure that she started calling her Olivia and everyone thought she was very strange. However, Lucretia's oddities won out when everyone discovered that the Kraken was indeed a girl enamored with then Clan Leader Nydiam.

Trial of the Century

You call it scandal - Lucretia calls it accomplishment. Finally, after twenty five years, her marriage to Prince Sadin is resolved before the Religious Council. Or not, but, it matters not because Lucretia has insinuated it leaves her a Princess still and married to her prince. More information can be found at Trial of the Century.

War Canoe

Lucretia's sent her son Prince Lucas Elianik to get a Writ of Replevin against the Oshta, Taria, for taking her daughter away. She then went to the Oshta Mansion to deliver it, except, only Lady Cecilia was in. Lady Cecilia was appalled at the writ but Lucretia was too upset to care. She demanded that the Ticanee give her a canoe and she would drop all charges against them. Finally, Lady Taleena showed up and had Naval Captain Sabria bring her very own canoe that looks like:

This is a traditional Ticanee canoe made out of hide and wood and threshed in such a way that water does not seep in. At least, it would have been traditional if it were not for the bright pink with the prow shaped to form a set of long wooden bunny ears. The stern of this canoe has a wooden carved 'puffball' tail that is painted white. This canoe also features bunny-themed oars, pink shields with angry bunny eyes, and a large pennant that appears to have a bunny dressed in an Admiral's hat waving a tiny bunny-sized sword.

Pirates of the Firanbbean

Lucretia took her family on a trip to the beach. She was attended to by Cecilia, Banian, Argin, Fiora, and Atreidian. While there, they discovered that a ship from the Hydra Clan navy had been sunk there. It is then that they met Gallus Mageeran, the sole survivor of the wreck. He introduced them to the pirates on the island and together the group foiled the pirates and stole their ship. Lucretia even stabbed a pirate in the liver! It was a good time for all.

Enemies

Ista Aldriks

From the get-go, it has not been a loving relationship between Lucretia and the Ista Aldrik family. Lucretia could not have known the fray she was getting into when she married Prince Sadin Elianik, but she ended up right in the middle of a twenty five year old quarrel with them. No love has been lost between Lucretia and Clan Leader Fidelia over the Prince. In more recent years, the bitterness had subsided a little as bigger problems came their way. In fact, Lucretia's son Prince Lucas married an Ista Aldrik in Akiva. With the recent, Trial of the Century it was revealed in a letter written by Faythe, a whore, that the Ista Aldriks had participated in a conspiracy to make it appear as though Lucretia had been in the Dove and defame her name.

Allies

  • Jalil: It is not always apparent and they have fought over the years in a fierce manner. However, when there's a pinch, Jalil seems to be there with that little detail or that extra hand that seems to keep Lucretia afloat. He was there inviting her back to his house when she returned from banishment. The man invited her disavowed son, Zayus, as a Firgalik. During the Trial of the Century, he gave Lucretia some information that cast doubt over the whole affair. She's fiercely loyal in that way where Jalil likely wishes she wasn't what with all the squealing and running around and causing trouble.

  • Fiora: Fiora is the Steward of the Firgalik Household and a very good friend of Lucretia's. She just seems to let Lucretia do whatever she wants whenever she wants and this makes for a great relationship. In return, Lucretia randomly provides Fiora with such fantastic things as more dogs to take care of or random wards to place in the nursery. Family dinners are not the same without Fiora; to Lucretia, she is part of their family and always will be. It's only a matter of time before she will hug Fiora and squeeze her and keep her for her very own.

  • Atreidian: Atreidian is the Master of the Hounds at the Firgalik Household. He's a good boy who is willing to take risks and Lucretia likes this. Also, he bears a form of Lord Atreides' name. This alone makes her endeared to the boy and willing to lend him a hand.

Scandals

When Dove's Cry

There is a lot of rumor and speculation over the incident at the White Dove in which it appeared that Prince Sadin's pregnant wife was found there naked and wearing a mask as the infamous Lady Bounty. Lady Lucretia was banished to Caldera City where she spent several years isolated from her family and her daughter Tia. Later on, Lord Argus Firgalik would bring forth a whore by the name of Faythe and claim that it was she who was in the White Dove and not Lucretia. Regardless of what people believe, it put a damper on a good many years. However, Lucretia seems to have recovered from it albeit with the sort of reputation that teenage boys giggle about.

Priestess of Zutiv

There was a time when Lord Jalil Firgalik would not pay attention to Lucretia at all. As such, she went to the polytheistic Temple of Zutiv and convinced a man by the name of Ixion to make her a priestess. This lasted all of a week when a passionate monotheistic by the name of Yarkon Aegrotik took Lucretia hostage in the polytheistic temple. Her then husband, Clan Leader Nydiam, showed up with his soldiers to deescalate the situation. He ordered them to throw spears; one of the weapons hit Lucretia square on and nearly killed her. Sometime later, Jalil and Lucretia would have a very public argument in the Forum where he would slap her across the face with a firm pimp hand. Having received the attention she desired, she quit the temple and went off to nurse her wounds and new fear of spears.

Trial of the Century

Okay, so, maybe for everyone else the Trial of the Century was a big scandal. After all, it put into question the parentage of several kids including Princess Nalene and Lord Adan Ista Barun. It also put into question the previous marriage to Lord Nydiam and infuriated the Cockatrice Clan. More information about this trial can be found at Trial of the Century.

Ghosts of Democracy

Since Eagle Democracy has risen to the forefront, Lucretia has been petrified of it. She doesn't understand what it is at all really, except, she has some sense it lets people make their own choices. As a good Gold Dragon woman, she isn't completely sure why anyone would want to do that. It's much easier to make everyone else responsible! At one point, Lucretia was so afraid that there was democracy in the courtyard that she climbed up into a tree and would not come down until her daughter Cecilia came up to get her. Both of them were rescued from the tree by Sir Alessandro Keniwik. Later on, Lucretia and Cecilia went on an adventure into the nearly empty Eagle District. They bashed doors down and sat on commoner couches, tried on commoner clothes and discovered to their horror that the ghosts of democracy make cradles rock on their own. It was so scary that they ran to the Diplomat Inn where the second division interrogated them about their adventure.

Octavian the Cad

Lord Octavian Oshta certainly started it (at least in Lucretia's opinion). One day, her daughter Cecilia was a sweet and loving girl who broke fingers and the next she was enamored with this Ticanee boy! When Taria called her daughter out at a public party, a catfight ensued and Lucretia very nearly went to fist fighting with a Ticanee Clan Leader of all people. To punish her daughter, Lucretia tried to drown Cecilia in the public pool at the bathhouse. In doing so, she called forth a family tradition of discipline passed on through generations of Firgalik women. Ultimately, Lucretia lost the battle and Lord Octavian used his marriage prize to marry Cecilia. Princess Lucretia has vowed never to talk to Cecilia again. This has actually never worked. She talks to her all the time after Cecilia promised to kill her siblings if they ever were untrue to their mother.

Funeral Rights?

Some people claim that Princess Lucretia Elianik set the body of one Mer Inas on fire. Lucretia claims that this was the direct involvement of Zutiv who was helping Father Rasmus out since the man was from his family and caused so much trouble. Ultimately, the inquisition agreed that Lucretia was a pious woman and that her belief in Zutiv was firm.

Famous Speeches

Firgalik Shame

Lucretia stands near red-faced on the Judgment Green of the Cockatrice District, "Today, I am ashamed to once have called myself Firgalik. When once the Firgalik name stood for morality and goodness, it now stands for words which a proper lady cannot emit from her lips. And while, I will not blindly defend any of my sisters...I must blame Lady Emeelya Firgalik for completing the morale dive the Firgalik women have taken. For, I am beside myself that a woman of her stature in the Gold Dragon Clan did /not/ consult a man before selling and possibly dumping stenis worth of items that belonged to Lady Leyla Firgalik. Obviously, she did not consult a man because no man in the Gold Dragon Clan in his right mind would have let go of precious gems and expensive silk full well knowing their worth. No no, on top of it all...I blame the men. Where are the hard slaps when a woman doesn't listen? Whatever happened to leaving a woman to her room or to pray in the temple for hours...I just can't abide by it. I will not watch it deteriorate as such. I must step down from the Polytheistic Temple of Zutiv. I must return home to the values my Monotheistic Clan has instilled in me. I will see a maiden's modesty returned and the day a woman would kneel before her husband and beg him so that she could go out to see a show in the amphitheater or by a little bauble. I will see the Gold Dragon men step up and take the reigns of their clan once more so that such silly and social blunders will no longer be seen from women with such stature! Father Rasmus, prepare a good sermon and a service just for me. It's about time the city was reminded of what good, caring, obediant Firgalik women are like. This speech was made with the permission of my husband Lord Nydiam IstaNydiam." Lucretia takes a deep breath and turns to her husband...no perhaps she runs to him as though needing protection.

Mourning for Atreides

The death of Lord High General Atreides Keniwik affects us all. Starting today, the Cockatrice Clan shall be in mourning for a period of no less than three months. For myself, I shall wear the color of mourning far longer. This loss penetrates our very lives. Even when the mourning colors are shed, we will miss Lord Atreides in battle. We will miss him defending our home land and we will remember dearly the sacrifice he has made to assist our sons and daughters on the battlefield. We will be humbled in our daily activities knowing that a man gave his life for us and that so many give their lives for us every year. I beg of you to remember him as the soldiers go off to battle, as they train and celebrate their lives and sacrifice. While I only demand that the Cockatrice Clan mourn for three months, I will mourn much longer for you Lord Atreides Keniwik for I have never forgotten that the man who has protected our Republic, once spent his days protecting me.

Trachi Day

News has reached the IstaNydiam Palace of Lord Trachi Iberik's death and his resulting confession. It is a serious offense, of course, to impersonate a noble. *attempt to smother a snicker* However, one must admire the inherent joke that he has managed for all these years. My late husband Lord Nydiam always appreciated a joke and it has taken years for us to laugh fondly of the time he stole that ferry. Before we tear each other apart in this already solemn time, we should remember that quality of a good practical joke. Therefore, I urge us to name this day Trachi Day. On this day, everyone may play pranks on each other to remind us that we should not walk unguarded through the forum while carrying millions of the Republic stenis. My regards to those that claim him as family for his death.

On Prince Sadin

It has been relayed to me after having spent copious amounts of time doing inappropriate deeds with my sister, Leyla Firgalik, my former husband has stepped forward to endorse our son, Prince Argin Elianik. Indeed, Prince Argin Elianik is a great man. I raised him myself as you all recall without the assistance of his father. The late Lord Nydiam IstaNydiam not only gave his time to his own children but Prince Argin as well. We would all do his memory a disservice to pretend that Prince Sadin is anything but a poor excuse for a father. Of course my son is great, I would not expect anything else from a former Acting Queen of this Republic. The fact that Prince Sadin feels he needs to endorse a son of mine at all makes him a fool. They have earned everything they have on their own laurels. The only thing that you contributed to your son's life is that one very pleasing night in the Palace garden you old fool! Your speech proves only one thing old man...behind every great man is a great woman...his mother.

Who Will Protect Us

I have been rather quiet until now and I intend to be quiet again but I feel I should speak up for just a few if I may. I remember as a young girl the glory of the Gold Dragon man. And in my youth, I lived next to many who had fought valiantly and let me live a carefree life by making my decisions for me. It was a comfortable existence, one that Zutiv destined to be ours and in all my life I have done so. I have sat at tables because I was told to and held tea parties because I was supposed to and read judgments and rulings as they were handed to me. When I was tugged left and right, I went left and right. But in all things, I have worked for men because that is a Gold Dragon woman's job. And I have done so, even when I may have thought it was not in my best interest. Did I stray? Of course, and Jalil Firgalik, the clan leader at the time, drug me aside in public and slapped my face and reminded me of my place in this Republic. And now I ask, who will protect me? What Gold Dragon warriors will rise to my aid and be my voice? Who will protect us monotheistic women who have been taken by the hand and led these directions? Look at your mothers, your sisters and your wives and then think of them when I challenge you to rise to the task, to give me that face slap...to remind me of home again.

With All Due Respect

I am certain that you have heard the Religious Council's decision in regards to my family. As leaders of the temples, I realize their hands were tied in regards to making a decision. It is with due respect that I decline to accept it.

I would like to tell our children that we live in a world where everything is black and white and the answers are simple choices of good or bad. However, it would be a lie and it cannot be done. Choices were made - difficult choices.

My mother is a sister to the great Elianos. Some of that same blood that runs through his veins is also a part of my own. It is that which afforded me this wonderful life within the Gold Dragon Clan and it honors me that I can continue to support His Honor, Ojitar Firgalik. I remember Elianos from my first days in the palace and he was kind to me. He was a self-made man as well as one of fine birth. His sword flew swift in battle and his strength brought clans together. I am but a woman in this and I carry no sword and have no bloody wars to speak of. The men in my life have afforded me great opportunities: Minister, Proxy, Judge and ultimately Acting Queen of this Repulic.

This decision cannot erase my distinct and honored blood line or the public service I have performed on behalf of this Republic. It is not only through birth that I have been granted nobility but in my own civil service. As such, I assert that I am a Princess of this Republic married to Prince Sadin Elianik. A title that is earned through birth and through action.

My children are legacies to their parent's actions which held the Republic together during very difficult and frightening times when the sky seemed to be falling on our heads. It was Prince Sadin who oversaw those days and I was at his side. As a mother, I wept alongside other mothers who lost so much. My children bear our blood and that great legacy.

I would like to thank everyone who has been supportive during this time especially His Honor, Ojitar Firgalik, for allowing me to serve as a Gold Dragon again.
