MAGDILLA AEGROTIK

Priestess Magdilla Aegrotik was born on July 27 in the year 21 B.U. in the Griffon city of Scirlut. She was only ten years old when the Gold Dragons ransacked the city, and amidst the sea of horrors surrounding her she witnessed her own mother's meaningless execution ordered by some Gold Dragon officer. Maddened by grief, she cursed the officer in Uf's name before being taken away.

A few years later, this same officer adopted her after his wife and youngest child had died mysteriously. Already Magdilla had gained a reputation of being crazy and it didn't help that she joined Uf's Temple, in spite of being a Gold Dragon herself now, where her companion bird was a chicken named Eggy. 'Magdilla the Mad', she was called, but others saw her as Uf's Avatar, brought to Aerval to remind the people of Uf's words. It seemed that few laws could touch Magdilla who lived her life the way she, or Uf, felt best. She vehemently defended the rights of chickens and other birds, marrying Eggy to her rooster Egbert and calling for a ban on all poultry dishes and the 'abomination' that was eggs zutagadin.

In spite of never having been married, Magdilla publicly announced that she had given birth once but that the child was stillborn during her time away at the Oracle. Soon after her return, the True Temple Inquisition came after her and she had to flee to Uf's Temple. It was there that she lived out the remainder of her life until the Dragon part of the Chimera swooped down and killed her in 32 A.U. However, it is said that was not the end of the curse she'd put on the Aegrotik family, for its head of house went mad but months later and her nephew Pentheus, named after the man who'd slain her mother, was killed by a griffon animal the following year. Magdilla is survived only by her adopted family, the Aegrotiks.
