METIS AMEEROS

If one would describe the life of Metis Ameeros in just a few words, his devotion and loyalty to the Istabannos Family would never be left unmentioned. Born just at the time of the foundation of the Republic, in Ellish, this Cockatrice Clan citizen joined the military when he was still young, and valiantly fought against the Shamibelians, until he was nearly killed. After recovering from this grievous wound, he was offered a position as royal guard for the Istabannos family, protecting all members of the family, be it Bannos, Bashona, Banik or Ibania. In early 26 A.U. Lady Proxy Ibania Istabannos awarded Metis for his long years of loyal service to her family, naming him a Sharanir of the Cockatrice Clan.

It was in this same year that Lady Ibania named herself Cockatrice Clan Leader, thereby starting the chain of events that would lead to war and great loss for all Cockatrice citizens and shrouded the Istabannos Family in scandal, with many calling for her execution. Despite all this, Sir Metis' devotion to those he had vowed to protect never wavered, and he joined the Gold Dragon clan when Lady Ibania did. When this greatly upset the Bear Clan and they called for a duel, it was Sir Metis who was to represent the Gold Dragon clan, to determine if his lady would remain with the Gold Dragon clan or return to the Cockatrice Clan.

Sir Metis fought Lord Querash Shadina of the Bear family, and to the surprise of many won. The surprise changed to shocked outrage when he immediately afterwards stated that he had cheated to win, dishonoring himself greatly in the process. As result, Lady Ibania was returned to the Cockatrice Clan, as was Metis, to be stripped of his Sharanir title, fined 500,000 stenis and conscripted into the Republic Military by the new Cockatrice Clan Leader Nydiam.

Mer Metis went to the Ellish front in the war season of 27 A.U. and it was there that he was able to prove that there was honor and courage in him, when he fought the Shamibelians, defending Fort Zayes from the relentless attacks of the enemy. He died in Fort Zayes, on July 15 of 27 A.U.
