Firan Ranks in the Republic Military, what they mean, and the expectations behind them.
Firan Ranks
- Ranivor: Highest rank, Commander and Chief of the Firan Military.
- Clan Leader: Oversight Function; manage military for local purposes.
- High General/High Admiral: Highest non-political ranking. Dual loyalty to Clan Leaders and the Ranivor.
- General/Admiral: In charge of divisions of 1,000 men each.
- Commander: In charge of tactical and logistics for units of 100.
- Captain: In charge of tactical and logistics for Centurions.
- Centurion: In charge of training and logistics for squads of 10 AND/OR a Noble.
- Sentry/Sailor: Low men or women on the totem pole, average soldier.
Republic vs Clan Rank
It is against game policy for a person to have a different rank in their Clan Military than they do in the Republic Military. Just as each (U.S.) state's National Guard answers to the leadership of their individual states during peacetime but can be mobilized to federal duty status by the President of the United States, each clan military answers to the leadership of their individual clan but are still part of the Republic military.
Occasionally a soldier will have a temporary difference in ranks. This only happens when they are a clan military officer who has enlisted seasonally.
