Mothers and Daughters
From FiranMUX
Taria made a speech titled 'Mothers and Daughters' on Firan time: 12:53:55 PM on Sat Sep 12, in the year 36 A.U. in Anarinuell: Ticanee District -- Tribal Meeting Grounds:
I have only this moment returned from my trip to Vahloria where I was tending to duties for my people. A very hapless messenger, from my daughter, came to me, and spoke words which must be untrue. I called him a liar, and threatened to take off his head. He ran for his life, but my guards captured him, and are holding his filthy tongue with sharp pinchers.
But so must everyone else run from me if he spoke true.
For if he spoke true, Unot stole from me the only mother I have left in this world. My Dame Urtenia. But he is a God. Even a Clan Leader may not fault or argue with a God. She must take solace in what is still rightfully hers.
The right to announce the loss. The right to declare a period of mourning. The simple solace of being able to bury herself in the duties of leadership so as to erase the mind-bending pain, or put it off for just a moment.
But if that messenger spoke true, and I am sure he must not have, my own daughter, who perhaps thinks to wear my medallion before her time, has stolen those things from me too.
I challenge someone to come tell me this messenger lies, so I can rip out his wretched tongue and make him eat it--lest I disown my daughter and know the full measure of my grief.
There were 75 people present, including Feathyr, Zhara, and Taria.
