OOC Guidelines for Civilians in Ellish
From FiranMUX
This War Season, civilians will have the opportunity to travel to the Front between 'active duty' weeks to engage in RP and TPs. This is a privilege and it is hoped everything will be smooth. The following are some suggestions to keep in mind if you are traveling to Ellish in this capacity.
- Common sense is expected of everyone.
- Safety is not guaranteed. Ellish is still a combat zone, and there is a risk of death or severe harm.
- IC orders and instructions from the military should be followed at all times. If a civilian is found in an unauthorized area, this may provoke a raid or retaliation from the NPC residents.
- Do not take objects from the ground that are not yours or that you have no IC permission to take without a GM present.
- War season is often a stressful time on both players and staff. Be courteous in dealing with your fellow players, even if IC events are dramatic. Remember there are real people on the other side of the keyboard.
- You can have a civilian and military alt at the front during civilian tours. You should take extra care to avoid alt conflict situations. Remember Ellish is a smaller area with a smaller RP pool, so it can be a challenge. You should not have more than one alt in Ellish while military tours are underway. Ask if you are not sure when these tours start and stop before you travel.
- While Tps may be running during the civilian weeks, do not anticipate them or rely on them. Being allowed to come to Ellish is your opportunity to RP with the military and any NPCs that are around and create and expand your own storylines.
- Try not to be a burden on Staff resources. @requests and @911s may be necessary (as they are everywhere!) but remember that the workload during war season is intense. Your busy staff will appreciate it if only essential matters are escalated.
- Civilians are confined to the civilian camps unless on a plot or authorized by someone in the military using @military/permit.
- .... have fun!
