OJAFI VETTLE

Shy, nervous, and fearful, Ojafi Vettle never fully adjusted to Firan life once freed from a lifetime of slavery despite her heartfelt efforts. She was taken captive by the Shamibelians at a young age with no memory of vrelander customs, language, or her family. She was renowned as a multi-talented crafter and armorer, the apprentice of the famed Lady Lasanna. Her love for her two haffie children made her the target of hostile mobs and forced her to move into the Old City for their own protection. During her few years of freedom she served in the 5th division of the Republic Military, and kept vigil over Lord High General Xegolus body when he fell at the front. Ojafi was generous and often made gifts of her products to everyone from clan proxies to paupers. It was very surprising then when she was found dead in the yard of her then missing sponsor Lord Dedalion Shadina, with the word spy carved into her forehead. It wasn't until months later that she was officially declared to be his killer. She was given a quiet funeral on Sat Jan 26, in the year 35 A.U. attended by very few. Some years later, it was found that Wendos had been Dedalion's murderer, executed for such by the Bear Clan -- Ojafi had been a spy for the guard, not the Shambelians. Those who knew her never doubted her innocence and were justified in their faith in the end.
