Overview

The Firan Olympics are a long-standing series of events between the clans, each of which vies for the title of Winner for the year. With that win comes a handful of prizes. The event started back in 19 A.U. by Ravinor Elianos Firgalik. The Olympics are held once a year real life.

Various games take place pitting mortal versus mortal in friendly competition. Each event scores points for the competitors' clan based on how well each person competes in the events. Below is an in-depth look into the various parts behind everything.

Events

Various events take place during the competitions; some involve a sole participant and some involve three members from the clan to compete. Each clan usually holds tryouts, normally a few months prior to the Olympics. Based on performance and times available, people are assigned events. Backups are also taken for each event since various real-life issues can cause a player to miss the times assigned!

Single Participant Events

The top, the best member of each clan will compete in various events dedicated to sole participants.

Long Jump

The long jump event takes place at the sand pit. A bar of wood is placed down and each person runs at it, jumping high into the air and landing in the pit of sand. Measurements of distance from wood to heal of footprints are kept track of but if a judge notices you passing the bar of wood before jumping, that jump's measurement is null and void. Each person's longest jump, that is valid, is then kept track of. In the event of a tie, the judge may call for another jump from each competitor or go off the second longest jump from the person's previous three.

Javelin Toss

The javelin tossing event takes place along the open field. People stand at one end, withdrawing javelins from the barrel and tossing them down field to see whom can toss the farthest. Each participant will toss three javelins and scoring is determined by the farthest toss. There is an area to either side of the field, marked as an 'out of bounds' area. If a javelin that is tossed lands within this zone, the scoring for that toss is null and voided. Farthest, in bounds, toss will be recorded and scored from. In the case of a tie, your second farthest may be used or another round of tossing the javelins may occur.

Hammer Game

The hammer game takes place within an open area. This is to ensure that the disks that are hit, do not in fact, on their way down, impact with any of the crowd or fellow competitors. During the event, a person will take the hammer and slam it directly into a disc, trying to see who can sail their own the highest. In the event of a tie, the second highest whack can be counted also to ensure a competitor in either place.

Tug o' War

Placed across a pit of slimy mud, rests the rope upon which the competitors will be pulling. The tug o' war is basically that, a war of whom can tug the hardest or the longest, in match offs of equal strength competitors. On the mark of the judge, each person will pull and pull, trying to yank their opponent in the pit of mud. The person, whom in the end, pulls the most people into the mud is deemed the victor.

Boxing

In the boxing event, people are paired off and setup to fight in merely their tunics. No armor is allowed to be worn and this includes boots. The contestants then fight it out in a simple punching contest to see whom is the strongest. The event is ran in an elimination fashion and people can yield if they feel they are too hurt to continue. After each pairing, the contestants will receive complimentary healing from the healers hired to work the event. The strongest man in the end, the one who took all the beatings but dished out the worst, is then announced as the victor.

Sword Fighting

A slight difference from the boxing event, this event allows participants to wear their own armor and bring their own swords. People are then paired off to fight until one concedes(yields) or falls over from the pain. Between each match, until a victor is found, the various healers hired to work this event will patch up everybody as best they can before the start of each round.

At the end, each person has fired five arrows into the target and their scores are added up. In the event of a tie, those participants who tied will continue firing arrows until it is clear who won.

Tennis

Contestants are paired off and sent to either side of a net while competing. Each have a racket in hand and a ball for each court. The ball is then hit back and forth, starting from the serve, until one person can not hit it back. This gives them a point and when one reaches three points, they win the match. The server alternates between each point until a winner is declared.

As a note, there is no code implemented for this game and everything is done with @checks. The serve is an @check of coordination + muscle at 6. The return, or volley, there after is an @check of coordination + (one of these three) reflex, agility or muscle. With that return @check, you can not use the same stat to @check twice in a row. This means, you can not use coordination + muscle twice in a row, you must change it up. The difficulty of each volley is determined by the number of successes of the last person.

Example would be.

Player one: @check coordination + muscle at 6 and gets 3 success
Player two: @check coordination + reflex at (6+3) 9 and gets 2 success
Player one: @check coordination + agility at (6+2) 8 and gets 1 success
Player two: @check coordination + muscle at (6+1) 7 and gets no success
Point Player one.
