War Season Teaser

The Firan army is seriously depleted. The previous push on Ellish as well as the Eagle situation has created a tight spot for the Firans. They could choose to push forward but it would certainly be a death sentence for the Firan people. Ellish has not been tamed yet. The various factions maintain their identities and desires. The Shamibelian Resistance remains strong in the face of the opportunistic raids made during the first Lurashar attacks. The Firans must maintain their grip on the future if they intend to recover their military. In a world where free people roam like savages and there are Shamis at every turn, welcome to Operation: Regeneration.

War Tinyplot Worksheet

For the purpose of war season, a reduced custom tinyplot worksheet has been created. Unless your mission is secret in regards to character information, it should be put on the wiki where it can be easily accessed and referenced. The worksheet can be found here: War Tinyplot Worksheet. The instructions for properly submitting a tinyplot are available at the top of the same page.

War Season Planning

  • June 16, 2009 @ 9:00 PM: A meeting will occur with the Diplomat Inn to discuss Ellish with the following invited attendees:

Rumor has it General Guvell Junik may show up. Everyone is invited to come watch the talks.

The meeting of the Ellish big two, Griffon Loyalists and the FFI, concluded yesterday. From people's memories, it was a rough meeting and it certainly will be interesting to see what occurs there. Citizens who attended note that there is a very rough cease fire between the two groups in Ellish. The FFI has very forcefully dedicated themselves to the task of ridding Shamibelians and helping the Republic. The Griffon Loyalists have also agreed to try to fight Shamibelians but only if the FFI do not wander in their territory. Also, it is up in the air whether or not Republic green will be safe in their territories. As far as meetings that include Evander and Firgus, this one could not have gone better.

Hiccups

Just before war season, Lord Rodiste N'Gato announced and married Lady Yassamin Ista Barun. This has led to his suspension from current duty but will certainly affect war season. For more information on this, see Adan and Yassamin Scandals‎.

GM Emits

It is just about two months to the big summer push in Ellish. The Firans have suffered large casualties both in freeing the city and with the recent scuffle over democracy. They cannot afford many more losses and maintain the city. The Republic is startled when the quiet preparations for war are shattered by an announcement from Lord Rodiste N'Gato that he has been informed that Lord Adan is dead. Rumors abound that he produced his marriage prize and gave it to Lady Yassamin. According to Rodiste, she chose to marry back to the N'Gatos!

Rumblings have begun in the military that there are infantry men and women who will not follow Lord Rodiste into battle. This has to put a kink in plans for the upcoming Ellish tours. The people wonder what new talent will step up to fill this gap? Will they be able to maintain Ellish?

On the Eve of war, Lord Rodiste is suspended from duty and replaced with Lord Cortik Junik and Dame Captain Sarina Whitefeather. The people are amiable with the abilities of both Lord Cortik and Dame Captain Sarina. Still, the reason Lord Rodiste was such a good Infantryman was he did spontaneous things just like this during battle and took risks. The Lord Rodiste they know would never just hide when war is on the line!

The people are convinced that the new infantry commanders will do fine. However, it's a 500,000 SP up front and another 500,000 SP later when they don't mess up. No pressure or anything. The people only expect that you will be the best infantry commanders ever!

Current Climate

Civilians

Former Shamibelian slaves who have not found themselves in any of the below categories, the civilians are widely distrustful of the Firan "liberators". Many grew up knowing nothing but slavery, it is their way of life, and it will take a great deal of earned trust in order to make headway into this group. Some scattered into the wilderness after the liberation and are living in hiding from both Shamibelian raids, which are frequent, and the Firans themselves. Unknowing who to turn to, they live in fear, but they have not, like the former slaves, taken up arms.

Third Division

The Firans ran into General Guvell Junik as one of the first men to handle Ellish at the start of the original Ellish tours. It was very clear to everyone involved that he had experienced a lot of horrors in his job there at the front. His reformation has come at the price of being traumatized completely by the terrifying battles he saw while he was there. Unfortunately, he remains a very good resource to the military as he is loyal to the Republic and he saw a lot in his years there. What he lacks in military tactics he gains in brute force which kept the North Gate under control under the second division could arrive with additional resources. The current man in charge at the North Gate and the third division is Commander Tanasi Menophik. He lacks General Guvell's forceful personality but is much more crafty than the old man. Rumors are that his compulsion for remaining in Ellish seem to be his belief that his mother Ziella and his brother Vellik are in the city. There are even more rumors of his sexual conquests, although, not a person will verify this if asked.

FFI

The Firan Forces of the Interior have had several months without their leadership in the city. If Governor Firgus, General Kira and Lt. Governor Junotan return there is likely to be much rejoicing among their people. For all the hardship, they have managed to carve out a society among all the problems that they are very content with. This also makes them difficult to move from Ellish now that they call it home. In their absence, the leader of the FFI is rumored to be Commander Kaliko Jaffus. The Third Division reports that he has not been active in making contact but that the crucifixions appear to have stopped. Unfortunately, the third division can also report that a quiet FFI is a dangerous FFI and they are not certain what they have been up to in the interim.

Former Slaves

Many of the former slaves in Ellish really have no faction to which they are loyal. They just want to be left alone. Many want to recreate the life they had without their masters and some may even want to be the masters. They are a complex society and one that has not been addressed as much as the others in the city. The numbers are reported to be significant enough that they will greatly affect Ellish's future. After all, they are very clearly the least likely to accept Firan culture being shoved upon them.

Shamibelian Resistance

The Shamibelian Resistance remains strong in Ellish and continues to be a significant roadblock for the Firans. They have been re-energized by the air raids that occurred around the Eagle Democracy scandal. In fact, the gate is now lined with effigies of Lady Srenni some of which have the heads hanging off or bloody spears through them meant to mock the Firan warrior. No faction has been free from their raids which have grown - rumor is that they have been buffed with reinforcements that dropped in during the air raids.

Ticanee

The Ticanee have not had significant interaction with anyone in the past missions. In fact, the Ticanee would say this is just like the Firans to overlook them. Recently, however, Lord Mateo Oshta was able to use some sway to get their assistance during the air raids. The Ticanee in Ellish are used to a view of the Ticanee that is nearly one hundred years old by now and as such are waiting for the Ticanee King to arrive.

The Gangs

The Gangers are still in full swing. They have a loose relationship with the Republic but they are still out to make a profit. In fact, they sell to everyone who has something to give so they are full of information if bribed hard enough. What is known by the Firans is they will need to bring something with them that is appealing to the Gang Leaders Curshon and Thalos Eesani if they expect to get something from them. Stenis are meaningless in Ellish so it better be cool.

Griffon Loyalists

The Griffon Loyalists have been both disheartened and strengthened by the attack on Lady Srenni. In Evander's absence he's been rumoured to have left a young man, Commander Macer Marcello in charge with a duo for advice, Captain Dolabellan Istariniad and Captain Calida. No one's quite sure what they're up to at the moment, though, since for the most part Loyalist territory is sealed off. Prior to the Eagle Democracy attacks, the Griffon Loyalists would never be willing to subscribe to this Republic nonsense. In light of the attacks and the Republic and Griffon's vulnerability, an opening between the groups has been made. It remains to be seen whether either side will cash in on it.

The Sarojin

The Sarojin do not live in Ellish. Firan contact with the Sarojin has been limited to a single trade caravan which brought Gazel and Naveen along with a bunch of colorful silks and jewels, and then departed the next day. They have gleaned from the former slaves in Ellish that the Sarojin used to show up once or twice in Ellish and open up a spectacular market there -- almost festival-like. Aside from this market they supplied the Shamibelian vitaras with precious craft goods. So, there is some understanding that the Sarojin may have been aligned with the Shamibelians, at least neutrally so in a profitable way. But, they were also happy to trade with the Firans.

Other Factions

Ellish is rumored to have as of yet untapped members of the Vrelander and Bonduin nations. No significant contact has been made with these people.
