Oshta Family

The Oshta Family is led by Taria Oshta and is the Royal House of the Ticanee. Their colors are blue and white.
Born of the union between the Firan hero Velani and the Dolo Oshta, the lone tribal leader of the Ticanee to survive the Shamibelian invasions, the Oshta family has arisen to walk the fine line between integration into the Firan culture and keeping Ticanee tradition from dying out completely. The family's name arises from the Ticanee word 'Oshta', the Ticanee equivalent of a Clan Leader.
At the Dolo Oshta's death he had guided the survivors of his people to relative safety among the Firans but only had one child, Taria. His dying request for Torvahl to follow Ticanee tradition and marry his wife to become the next 'Oshta' produced her sibling Vahlon. Vahlon married Princess Inaya Elianik to become Prince Vahlon, but tragically died at war in 19 AU.
Following unusual decisions by Torvahl that threatened the stability of the fledgling Oshta house in the eyes of the people, Taria took his position as Oshta in a bloodless coup. Later on, Torvahl and Velani left on a ship to see the Vrelander lands with Elianos and the other surviving Seven Heroes and have not been seen since.
By necessity, since two Clan Leaders are not allowed to retain both a marriage and their thrones, Taria and her first husband Jalil were separated after Jalil's ascention to the Gold Dragon rulership. She then later married the Bear lord and long-standing Viceroy Taleo Teranzik, with whom she has had the heirs to the Oshta throne: their children Taleena, Mateo, Melani, Empyrean, Tanya, Octavian, Arianna, and Decimus. Excepting for an interval where Taleo was pressed into service as the Bear clan Proxy medallion-holder, they remain married to this day.
Taleena married Lord Lotuk Dawn and had one son before her husband died at war. Mateo wed Lady Corrina Firgalik who joined the Ticanee clan and Oshta family. Melani married Prince Torianos and became Princess Melani; she has remained a Ticanee. Empyrean has joined his father as a Teranzik and a Bear.
