Official Statement

My name is Osirus the gladiator, slave of Lainath Samiroon. I used to be a Hydran nobleman. And that is why I can say without question that you should be looking at the Eagle slaves in your midsts. They have always been the most corrupt, the most treacherous, and the most murderous of all my people. Take Renik, for example. He gets positively besotted or drunk on wine and his special "energy" flatbread before he enters the ring and he becomes murderous. He could have killed Hralib with his own two hands.

Background

In my old life I had everything. My family, it could be said held more power than the Hydra royal family. My brothers and father were heros. Now everything has changed and all of that is gone and those who seemed like enemies before are brothers and the real enemies...well they own us. My life isn't that bad now, being a gladiator has its perks, but like most slaves I know I'd rather have things as they were before. It's my duty as a Hdyra Warrior to watch over the women of my family, but at times this can be a heavy burden.

Relationships

• Savanna -- Osirus' lover. In the past Osirus would never have looked twice at Savanna. She has the N'Gato blood in her, that is true, but she was raised by that woman (Lasanna). She hated all N'Gatos and was an Eagle. But there are not as many of the old feelings now. He sees her secretly when they can get time alone together, though he knows that were things to return to how they were before he'd be forced to cast her aside just as his Uncle Pavan once cast her mother aside.
• Yvette -- Osirus' sister-in-law, over whom he is protective since Razesh died, and they became slaves. Yvette is a strong woman, Osirus knows she has secrets but doesn't want to press her for them for fear of what they might be. She has close ties with many of the remaining Elianiks.
• Puria -- Osirus' other sister-in-law. Firistan's widow. He knows she is angry with him for his actions with regards to Savanna, but she is a woman and he doesn't have to do what she says. With Puria the old Warrior Code still stands. He protects her as best he can, just like Yvette. It bothers him that his brother's once pious wife is now a brothel slave there for any goat to use.
• Lainath -- Osirus' master--not a bad one to have, all things told. He's only violent when provoked, or taunted about his Firan blood.
• Lucas, Akiva and Ladonna -- These are Lainath's other slaves, and Osirus lives with them. He knows they give Lainath lots of trouble and often have to be whipped and stocked. Especially Akiva.
• Czar -- Osirus burns with a hatred for this half-Bonduin man. He has seen the pleasure Czar takes in whipping men like himself and Rodiste.

Goals

1. Avoid being blamed for Hralib or Throgana's murder
2. Help solve Hralib and Throgana's murder--Osirus cannot abide innocent Firans being put to death for something they did not do
3. Avoid being killed during tonight's gladiator contest--best to screw with his opponents' headspace before the match.
4. Get back your lucky knife before anyone knows it's gone missing
5. Persuade Lainath that if you win tonight's Gladiator match, you should have your freedom
6. Get some alone time with Savanna -- after all, tonight in the match, you could die

Timeline

• 10:00PM Fidelia is sacrificed to kick off the Night of Obala's Pride
• 11:00PM Osirus sees Orsatos sneak off from the "party"
• 11:15PM Osirus sees Empyrean sneak off from the "party"
• 11:30PM Osirus has to fight Throgana for the entertainment of the Shamibelians--luckily, it was not a match to the death
• 12:00AM Osirus returns to Lainath's tents to go to sleep.
• 01:00AM Osirus catches a glimpse of Akiva grabbing up her stuff before running off again, which surprises him, because she was supposedly in the stocks for the night.
• 01:30AM Osirus recieves a mysterious message
• 06:00AM Tatomir finds Hralib's dead body under the Great Marble Arch on Pevifa's Plantation (Formerly the Temple District)
• 08:00AM Brizo finds Throgana's dead body in the Slave Temple (Formerly the Embassy Building)

Osirus Round One

Round One Reveal

Osirus knows that before his bouts in the ring, Renik always ate a special "energy" flatbread, and it would make him fight like a martial artist. He could have killed Hralib with his own two hands.

Everyone knows Czar is some damned Bonduin, and they know all about exotic poisons and how to kill people with them.

Everyone knows that Czar is one of the most trusted slaves in Anarinuell, and has permits that entitle him to go anywhere without question.

Everyone knows that Hralib gave the Ranivor's medallion to his loyal slave Throgana, to wear as a pretty piece of jewelry. Wouldn't any one of the Elianik Princes like Lucas, Zaridos, or even Torianos kill to get it?

Osirus knows that Forlanis has been training Katriana as an assassin. What does a Shamibelian warrior need with an assassin, unless it's to kill other Shamibelians.

Round One Conceal

When Osirus was first captured, Hralib made him get on all fours like an animal, and eat grain from a bowl--against the Hydran Warrior Code. Osirus has hated him ever since.

Osirus has been telling the other slaves that the only way to get free is to cut the head from the body--murder Hralib, and maybe the Shamibelians will have to retreat from Anarinuell.

Last Night, Hralib told Lainath that Osirus had too much pride, and that he bet Throgana could beat him up. She proceeded to do just that, and Osirus swore revenge.

Osirus is having an illicit affair with another slave--Savanna.

Osirus is missing his lucky knife, the one he uses most frequently in the ring.

It is thought to be extremely prestigious in shamibelian culture to own a winning gladiator, and earns a master praise and accolades, along with social power. When a gladiator wins five matches in a row, one plot of land held in trust by the state is given to the gladiator's master to dispense to the woman of his choice (though it is generally frowned on if he does not give the land to his wife, his wife's daughters, his sisters, or his mother). Osirus has won four matches for Lainath, and wants to earn one more. If he does, it could mean his freedom.

Round Two Reveal

Osirus know that Hralib forbid Lainath from marrying any of his step-daughters, because he is a quarterbreed, and Lainath is particularly violent against those who discriminate against him.

Osirus knows that in the aftermath of losing Anarinuell to the goats, Ojitar instituted reforms that enlisted even Gold Dragon women into the military, and taught his own wife and sisters, like Emma and Tazira, how to kill.

Dyanna has been asking a lot of questions about how cold certain Firan buildings get, saying she needed to keep some things 'on ice' for her Shamibelian masters.

During the Night of Obala's Pride, Dyanna kept commenting on how "perfect" the weather was, even though it was freezing cold.

Lucas stole the keys to the stocks on the Night of Obala's Pride. Might he have freed his wife Akiva and together put a plan in motion to murder Hralib?

Akiva has been running a very lucrative underground permit forgery operation. If Hralib was about to uncover it, Akiva would have had to kill him to save her own life. She may say that she was in the stocks all night, but Osirus knows the truth. In the wee hours of the morning, her husband Lucas came to free her with keys that he'd stolen. She ran off and wasn't seen again until the morning, so she had ample time to kill Hralib. (Lainath caught them, and put Lucas' eye out, that's how Osirus knows.)

Lainath told Osirus that Lucas was wet and shivering when he let Akiva out of the stocks, and seems to be suffering from hypothermia even now.

Brizo has permits to roam outside the city walls to deliver wine and mead to the Shamibelian army, and that he uses this relative freedom to smuggle children out of the city.

Brizo once said he'd rather die, or kill, than let children fall into enemy hands.

Osirus saw Orsatos sneak off from the Night of Obala's Pride just before 11PM. He must have been up to no good. And he wasn't the only one. Osirus also saw Empyrean sneak off at 11:15PM.

Round Two Conceal

Osirus received a messenger in the wee hours of the morning, but it was about Yvette.

You see, Yvette was trying to smuggle her two children out of Anarinuell, but they were killed in the attempt and she became murderously unhinged.

Osirus knows that the earrings found in Hralib's pocket belonged to Yvette.

Yvette "borrowed" his lucky knife last night, for her own protection. He's worried that it ended up being used to cut off Hralib's finger or to kill Throgana.

Osirus knows that Yvette snuck off from the Night of Obala's Pride to go to the Temple District where Hralib's body was later found. He is pretty sure Yvette killed Hralib, and he wants to protect her.

When the Shamibelians overran Anarinuell, Puria tried to hide her sons in a rug, all rolled up. When she realized it was hopeless, she smothered them to death rather than let them become slaves. Look at the way Hralib died? It was as if someone was trying to send a message, the way he was rolled up in that rug.
