LORD PERTINAX DIDORON

Raised in Unotran, Lord Perinax Didoron was known for a solid and dutiful soldier and guard both in the city. Just ten years old when the Great War began, he was taken as a slave and sent to Emran, he was freed within a year. Not much was known about Lord Pertinax when he came to Anarinuell from Unotran, save he was an avid military man and an ambitious nobleman. A natural leader with an ironic wit and a keen sense of sarcasm that he generally kept in check when needed, his ability to coolly assess and overcome obstacles between him and what he wanted saw him rise above most men to secure a high position in his Clan's military. It is said he had hoped to help restore the reputation of the Didoron name, however his role within the family might be seen by some as ironic given that.

Perhaps it was his famed determination (or maybe it was the Didoron curse) that brought Pertinax to the attention of Republic citizens when his father Lord Orikos had died at his own son's hand in July of 23 A.U. Pertinax had gone to speak with his father at the jail, and from there the details are somewhat hazy. What is certain is that in the end Orikos was dead at his son's hand and it was declared to be self defense. Nearly a year later, Lord Pertinax chose Lady Junia Ista Aldrik as his Marriage Prize and they were wed in June of 24 A.U. During the turmoil within the Bear Clan, Pertinax and his wife returned to the Cockatrice Clan when Junia was cast out of the Bears. He rose to power soon enough as Clan Leader Nydiam named him the Clan's High General at the end of 27 A.U. and then Clan Proxy in early 28 A.U.

However, the spectre of the family curse seemed to rear its ugly head once more when, in 29 A.U., Lord Pertinax summoned the Bonduin Drikkist Etowo Ranivik to the family estate. What happened next, or why, is unclear. What was known was that the Bonduin was dead, killed by Pertinax's guards. Though the Lord claimed the Drikkist had attacked him and he was merely protecting himself, memory of how Orikos had died and other rumors seemed to drive the nobleman into social obscurity. He was found unconscious in his house during the Cockatrice clan riots, suspected of having been poisoned by his own wife. He expired a little while later in the temple where he had served as a priest to Unot. He is survived by his daughter Laurelia by Junia and Yvette by Aldrissa.
