Petrina had two brothers, both deceased. Thaddeus Ista Aldrik was killed while serving as a Special Forces operative on the Ellish fronts when he ate from a poisoned food supply. He was given a heroes funeral and many young boys pray for his soul should they wish to become stealthy and cunning. His nickname was Thad and he was clearly Petrina's favorite brother.
Petrina's other brother was Erythes Ista Aldrik (Rissik) who later married Inaya (of the royal family). Erythes had big plans for his life but never really followed through on any of them outside of his marriage to the princess (and later Clan Leader). They had one child, Thaddia. Erythes was always a difficult man and he made the mistake of treating his wife without the respect due to the daughter of a God.
He was found dead in Elik's temple, strangled by vines. Petrina mourned his death but had been reportedly heard commenting that it saved her the trouble of having to kill him herself.
Marriage
Petrina has been married twice and both of her marriages are legendary failures. The first was to Judanarius (at the time with no surname) of the Griffon Clan during his reign as Clan Leader. She oversaw the clan during the first of the Air Raids by the Shamibelians. Their marriage was shortlived as he lost control of the Clan some time afterwards due to her choices during a minor civil war and they were quietly divorced.
Her second was to Taleo (then)Teranzik at the time he was Regent of the Bear Clan. Their marriage was equally short-lived which ended in Petrina being convicted of Treason against the Clan and her pleading a Life-Debt to him.
Her most infamous non-marriage was her longtime betrothal to Sabinus Rissik, onetime heir to the Chimeran medallion. Several days before their wedding he was married to Yasha Iberik by means of a Festival marriage prize.
Rumors have linked Petrina romantically to both Docci (formally of Ista Barun) and Jalil Firgalik, both of whom she is publically 'friendly' with otherwise.
Children
Petrina has no children from either of her marriages.
Accomplishments & Successes
Petrina's greatest accomplishment is life is mostly her work on the Fire-Bombs, reverse engineered from the Shamibelians. Her knowledge of toxins and chemistry have been linked to more scandalous events but she is openly proud of her abilities in conjecture to the concoction.
She is also one of the more famed healers of the Republic and a fairly talented painter.
Scandals & Failures
War. Treason. Poison. Madness. Death. Somehow Petrina has emerged through scandal after scandal smelling like the roses she often sports as a sygil. Her most notorious moment was when she was convicted of treason against the Bear Clan by her then husband Taleo Ista Aldrik. She was sentenced to death and spared only by pledging him a life-debt.
For reasons never truly explained to the public's satisfaction, she was kept under protective custody by her cousin Fidelia for almost a full year. It was as if she vanished off the face of Aerval for a while.
Several people she was in close contact with in the Chimera Clan were later executed for treason but there were no ties between the plot to put a Rissik back in control of the Clan and Petrina.
Some have hinted that she played a key role in the execution of Kameelya Firgalik but others downplay her involvement as simply a healer whom Jalil Firgalik trusted with his life and his secrets.
Enemies
Petrina's longest running rivalry was with Yasha Iberik. While never acting directly on her deep dislike for the woman who stole her fiance, Petrina took every chance to politely slander her rival and make disparaging remarks.
She also has a strong enmity with Taria Oshta due to her romantic and political involvement with the woman's husbands (both ex and current).

Habits
It is a rare occasion indeed when Petrina is without a set of hairpins. Even rarer is when she smiles. She permits herself tiny half-smiles as society dictates but it is not often when someone catches her truly happy and expressing it. She has a habit of wrinkling her nose in dismay or disgust rather than verbalizing her displeasure.
She wears her long hair in a tight bun held at the nape of her neck more often than not and often pats it and the pinprick points of her hairpins. On anyone else it would be called primping.
Likes
Petrina's sygil is a black bear wearing a collar of thorned roses. It is often hidden in her artwork as her crafting mark.
Her favorite colors are blue and green, and she favors well worked golden jewelry over platinum.
She tends towards natural pattern or geometric borders on her garments as opposed to animals or insects. She will only wear silk or wool - no matter what fashion dictates as woman of birth should not be seen in cotton or linen.
She collects hairpins of different materials and qualities though she does have a few favorite pairs she wears more often than not.
