LORD PHILANDER ISTA ALDRIK

Born in the year 1 A.U., this charismatic man led a dangerous lifestyle and many predicted his downfall long before it happened. He was born as the youngest son in the marriage of Mes Derganiva and the infamous Admiral Jaffus, the most well-known case of polygamy in Cockatrice history. Philander took great pride in his heritage and strived to follow in his father's footsteps, greatly respecting the man. He served in the Fourth Division, as pilot, renowned for his recklessness and bravery, which he excellently displayed during the Shamibelian Air Raid of 24 A.U. At the time he led a squad of 500 Bear and Republic pilots in the air, taking out 750 enemy units while only losing 150 of his own, without a scratch on himself. He was hailed as one of the heroes of the Air Raid.

Yet it was his life outside of military successes that drew the eye of the public. For in 22 A.U. he managed to win one of the Spring Festival pentathlons and chose the traditional marriage prize, claiming Lady Proxy Junia Ista Aldrik as his bride. The marriage gained him nobility, and he was known from then on Lord Philander Ista Aldrik of the Bear Clan. Of course, no one gave him any chance of surviving his choice, for no Ista Aldrik would accept being chosen as a prize, like an object. Indicted of embezzlement about mishandling Bear Clan Funds, he was divorced but allowed to keep his title and the family name, a clever success. In the end, it was his ex-wife who delivered his death anyway. In the shaky political climate of late 24 A.U., Philander spoke out against a judgment of Lady Proxy Junia's. He was sentenced for treason and executed in front of Unity Hall, on October 30 24 A.U. In life as in death, he would leave quite an impact, and his execution that broke the sacred peace of the Fall Festival caused angry mobs to riot on the streets of Anarinuell. Furthermore, the gods showed every sign of being angered by this act, withdrawing their favor from the Firan people.
