Players and Staff

People
There is no greater compliment than from players so enthusiastic as to spontaneously and openly praise the game. Here are in the words of a player:
- Once again, I'm compelled to say that I have found this game enormously enjoyable.
- The reason I am writing this note is to praise the Staff here. From the helpers on help channel all the way up to the head honchos. I have never been anywhere that keeps such good track of events, such constant updating of files, such innovative and resourceful application of toys for us players.. and all the little stuff we never even realize.
- Good work, all of you, you can be proud of your accomplishments, they -are- appreciated.

Players
All the players of Firan contribute. Even those with no formal "title" greet our guests, answer questions on the Help channel and provide a wonderful RP environment for everyone.
The player activity on the game is truly astounding and continues to grow! In August of 2002, we went up to a record of 212 characters logged in! Check out other game statistics! Or, don't take our word for it: Check out Brent's MUstats Login Tracker (here's Firan's entry on the tracker).

Some of our beloved friends have passed on, and we maintain a Friends Remembered page as a memorial.
Faction Heads
Faction Heads, also known as FacHeads or FHs, help the new players in their clan/faction get involved and into RP. This is an elected position from all those in their clan/faction. They keep the wizards and those in their clan/faction abreast of all the happenings in it!
So far this position has significantly helped the game. It shows that our focus really is on our players first and foremost. For more information about faction heads, log on to Firan and type 'news faction heads'.
They also put out newsletters periodically to help keep their clan informed. Click here to see the newsletters.
Player Helpers
Player Helpers (sometimes PHers) are special appointed players on our game greet guests and see to it that they find a character, orient new players, and serve as the first-tier of staff support.
They are the main resource for newbies to the game. When a new player logs into a character, player helpers should literally go to the new player's location (if they can), help show them how to use essential commands that they may need like @sheet, lock, and the channels. They should also use their characters to immediately pull newbies into roleplaying.
Player helpers really do an excellent job with their role along with the faction heads and help the wizards concentrate on @requests, @jobs, running plots, answering @911s, answering questions on the help channel, assisting players with character understanding upon request, and many other things.
They are, essentially, the first tier of staff. Players should seek out PHers first and use them as a resource.
Wizards
The main staff are called Wizards for long-standing traditional reasons. There are no actual spellcasting wizards in the Firan game.
The staff is hardworking and friendly. Here are some hard numbers to back up the impression that the players have.
@Requests are a way that allows players to put in a request to the staff. Anything that players want done for your character should be requested in this way. The staff continuously check the requests queue for new jobs, and complete them as soon as possible.
The global @job system is a database for work that needs to be done or fixed. It is a filed catalog of all jobs that are added and who is currently working on it, if anyone.
See the Game Stats page to see how much work we get done and how long it takes us to complete player requests.
