Overview

POTTER

Potters create a multitude of everyday and unique items for the Firan people. Amphoras, cups, vases, bottles, pitchers, etc. While it is possible to sell these items to the market, and indeed, we encourage craftspeople to sell their creative wares for the everyday Firan to purchase, their best source of income is going to be in gaining commissions from nobles to create ceramic ware for them.

Potters are usually commoners, who either work out of their home or have a studio, if they are lucky enough to have a sponsor that would lend them enough money for one.

Equipment

A potter requires clay, fire and potter's tools in order to throw (make) their pieces. Firewood can be purchased from the market or collected from the public landfall. Clay can also be purchased from the market, or mined from the earth. A carpenter can make a set of potter's tools or, they can be purchased as well. It's preferable to have a permanent place in which to create pottery, as the tools are very heavy!

  • Hold regular "pottery wheels." Essentially a sewing circle where you meet with other potters and discuss the trade, teach or learn new techniques, and plan out future projects.
