My name is Puria Vettle, slave of Forlanis, and I strive to be worthy. I am a very sad woman, who grieves her children. And it might be true that I would like to blame your leaders for the deaths of my sons, but even if I did, how would I, just a woman, have subdued a strong warrior like Governor Hralib? But I can point to a woman who is strong enough to do just that--a woman who wields a hammer like a beast. Just two days ago, Hralib was talking about buying Savanna for her armoring skills, and now he turns up dead, and the splendid armor she wrought for him is missing. Explain that!
Background
The only surviving child of two prominent noble Firgaliks executed for treason by then Clan Leader Jalil, Puria rose above this to become a well-respected noblewoman, and the wife of a proxy in the Hydra clan. Since the fall of the city, she has become nothing but a brothel-slave. While she has tried her best to maintain her proper, monotheist ways on the outside, who knows to what lengths she will go to get revenge on those who have wronged her?
Relationships
- Forlanis -- Puria's master.
- Rodiste and Osirus -- Puria's brother-in-laws. She's embarrassed for them to know she's a brothel slave.
- Yvette -- Puria's sister-in-law, and good friend. Slavery has made them bond.
- Jalil -- The man who killed Puria's parents, allowed Zafir and Galadra to let her little sister, Olecia, die when a griffon hit the Junik mansion, and then ordered the execution of Puria's beloved cousin, Neo, and Audentus, who courted Puria and was refused permission by Jalil.
- Katriana -- Puria's cousin by marriage. Having raised Katriana's oldest child as her own, Puria is devastated by his death, and has become even closer friends with Katriana now that they're both owned by Forlanis.
Goals
- Find a way to "prove" that Jalil killed Hralib.
- If you can't do that, "prove" that Emma killed Hralib. Jalil should lose his child.
- If you can't do that, frustrate all efforts to find the real killer so that Jalil and the rest of Hralib's slaves get executed at the end of the night. Poor Rodiste. . . but then, everybody has to die sometime.
- Talk Osirus out of shaming his family by conducting an affair with a neo-noble Eagle Clan member like Savanna Iberik. The baby Zutiv would cry!
- Try and protect Yvette, lest she take the blame for Hralib's murder.

Slaves talk, and Puria heard that Hashi had a terrible fight with his father, Governor Hralib, last night. In Puria's experience, when death is involved, it's always a member of the family that did it. Look at her own parents and how they died!
In the Hydra Clan, if a man keeps courting your daughter after you've said no, it would be perfectly legitimate to kill him. Thus, Puria was always surprised that Governor Hralib did not kill Lainath for continuing to woo his step-daughter even though he'd said no. But perhaps Lainath wasn't so squeamish and decided to get the old man out of the way. Puria has trouble believing that Lainath has an alibi for his whereabouts last night.
On the other hand, Lainath probably would have ripped Hralib apart not left him to die in the cold or used a woman's weapon like poison.
Round One Conceal
When the Shamibelians overran Anarinuell, Puria tried to hide her sons in a rug, all rolled up. When she realized it was hopeless, she smothered them to death rather than let them become slaves. Look at the way Hralib died? Isn't that poetic justice? Truly, Zutiv's hand is in this!
Everyone knows Yvette's famous "trick" in bed, involves using ropes. The knots used to tie Hralib into that rug look eerily similar to the ones that Yvette knows how to tie.

Round Two Reveal
Emma was one of the last people to see Throgana alive, wasn't she? Puria heard that Emma got Throgana ready for the Night of Obala's Pride. Who knows what secrets the two of them exchanged.
Emma is still in contact with her father, Jalil, even though Hralib forbid it. Throgana found out and was going to tell, and get Emma in trouble. No doubt, Emma and Jalil would have wanted to shut her up.
Everyone knows that the Shamibelians were burning all the scrolls in the Great Library to make way for Nobifa to convert that building into her mansion, and that it was littered with piles of ash.
Everyone knows that Aylina's husband, Udettos, tried to kill Hralib during the invasion of Anarinuell, and that Hralib killed him, choking him to death with his golden wedding necklace.
Rodiste resisted being a good slave for a long time, but recently he has been so trustworthy he was even given the honor of guarding the catacombs for Hralib.
Everyone knows that Aylina was serving some of her best spicy dishes on the Night of Obala's pride. She could have poisoned anyone she wanted to.
Everyone knows that Savaren considered it a personal affront that Hralib let his slave girl Throgana walk around wearing the Ranivor's medallion as jewelry. He'd have killed her to get it. But really, does he deserve the medallion after he failed to stop the Shamibelian Army from conquering Anarinuell?
Savanna's covered in ashes. Isn't that suspicious?
Everyone knows that Jalil has said, on numerous occasions, that he'd rather be dead than a slave. Maybe killing Governor Hralib and letting the Shamibelians execute him is his way of committing suicide.

- Puria just doesn't trust that Osirus will break things off with Savanna. He needs to be taught a lesson. Puria should try to kill Savanna in a symbolic way.
- It's only right that Osirus marry his brother's widow and make an honest woman out of Puria. Get Osirus to agree to marry you.
- Get Forlanis to arrange the marriage between you and Osirus.
- If the Shamibelians won't allow the marriage, have it done in secret by a Shamibelian priest.
- Blackmail Osirus with every bit of dirt you can find on him if he is reluctant.
