LORD QUINTALLUS ISTA BARUN

Born in Caldera City in the year of unification of the Republic, Lord Quintallus Ista Barun was the son of Lord Erato Ista Barun, vice mayor of Caldera City. Instead of following his father's footsteps in Caldera City, applying himself to politics there, he served in the Firan military for five war seasons as dutiful soldier, before making his decision to come to Anarinuell, to serve the Republic as Minister of Economics, for he had great skill with mathematics. It was then-Prince Vahlgellan himself, who bid him come to the capital city. Known as responsible and dutiful, the first shadows of doubt over his person were cast on him in the summer of 23 A.U., when the Chimera Proxy Sabinus Rissik arrested Lords Adrastus, Battus and Quintallus Ista Barun for treason against the Chimera Throne. While Lord Adrastus was executed for treason, Lord Quintallus was named unwitting accomplice to Lord Adrastus' plot and sentenced to serve in the Chimera military. A year later, many eyebrows were raised when Lord Quintallus from one day to the next was suddenly mute, unable to speak. Many were murmuring that it must have been divine punishment, while others simply stated that Lady Aldrissa Ista Barun could make the best man go mute.

Like his cousin Lord Adrastus, Quintallus would find his death at the hand of an executioner, sentenced to hanging by Lord Proxy Taleo Ista Aldrik. It was for treason against the Bear Clan, the clan the Ista Baruns had only joined in early 25 A.U. Lord Quintallus is survived by his widow Lady Nevra and his daughter, Lady Vaquira, though the marriage was rumored to be an unhappy one, and it is public knowledge that he assaulted his wife with a sword. Still, others say that he was manipulated by Lady Nevra, for his death suited her. The truth might never be known.
