Overview
He used to call Lurashar home and did for a long while as he was a well-aged 24 years old when he arrived in Anarinuell. He's equally good with his fists, a sword and in the wrestling ring, that is to say: quite good. He's a passable armorer and makes some decent money crafting bronze armor for people but it's apparent that his main area of study is weaponry and their use.
Other than that, he's not a particularly hard-working man and tends to spend a lot of time working with his hounds. On the off chance that something does strike his interest, he tends to pursue it with lethal intent and the ability to wrangle his large pack of hounds was one such pursuit. Most people notice his height and musculature first as he towers above most Firaners. Shortly thereafter, they see the puckish, feral grin that he usually flashes as a preamble to some mischief just before he ducks out of the room.
Family Life
Most of his family is unknown to the people of Anarinuell as he grew up in Lurashar and tends to not spread about the story of his past.
Raef is married to Mes Geloe Firona, a member of the Cockatrice clan. When they finally were married, they asserted their marriage and had a quiet event for themselves and only Geloe's father, Madix, was present besides the two of them. Marrying by assertion wasn't something that they ever gave much thought to, it just fit for them, but then Geloe got pregnant and people started looking at her cross-eyed. To avoid the Dove, they formalized their marriage in the Zinnian temple and if it weren't for lions, they probably would have raised a much bigger stink about the whole thing.
As of this moment, they have one kid on the way. Raef's always wanted a family of his own, possibly related to why he left Lurashar. As the newest member of the Firona family, he's taken quite well to Madix and Geloe's sister, Niobe.
Accomplishments
- None that most people would really consider accomplishments. Beatings and muggings just aren't spoken about in polite society.
Allies
- Pontius and Madix seem to be allies of his.
- Argin is his sponsor, that counts right?
- Shade gives him food as well but then she gives a lot of people food.
- He has some mysterious connection to Gaddineez and most people aren't sure exactly what it is.
- His wife, Geloe, is a supporter of his too. Except when he does stupid things.
Enemies
- The big ganger keeps his enemies closer than his friends and nothing is known about who might be on Raef's hit list. He has one though, oh yes he does.
Scandals
- Saving Pontius from the Hydrans.
- The Hydrans tried to haul Pontius off to be inquisitioned early on in his arrival to the Old City and Raef was one of the few Old City denizens to brawl the Hydrans to keep them from taking him.
- Crime, crime, crime.
- Far too many items to mention and he wouldn't tell the likes of you anyway. You think he's stupid?
- Mercenary or Gangster?
- The fact that Raef runs with some shadier company in the Old City, is not an unknown fact but the depths of his involvement in Anarinuell's criminal underbelly is unknown. Some say that he runs one of the gangs, others say that he just does what he's told to do by someone higher up. An even smaller number of people have gone so far as to claim that Raef has some sort of connection to the infamous thug 'Strife' and that he himself is known as 'Nails' in the darker alleys of the Old City. Others swear that he's 'Moth' and while there doesn't seem to be much agreement, people are fairly certain that he's involved somehow.
