Background
Description
A man with soft brown eyes, Ranuk has brown eyes, short straight brown hair and fair skin. Ranuk appears to weigh about 160 pounds and stands about 5'6" tall. His fair complexion is marred with an array of nicks and scars, the reminder of past wounds failing to detract from the wiry, handsome man's appearance. He walks with the heavy weight of a man who has been through troubles far beyond his years: his proud posture and measured stride that of a military man's. The enthusiasm of his youth is still quite evident in his active and energetic nature; however, experience has subdued his recklessness somewhat. In spite of this, mischief lurks within his deep brown eyes and rare, but charismatic smile.

Parents
Although Ranuk may not have always been the best of sons, Raheem has ALWAYS been there for him. He trusts his father above anyone else, particularly after the whole disowned-and-divorced mess, as he stood by his side and was his most avid defender. Communication with his father these days is brief -- and dangerous, as Sedarius has instructed the Firabis not to talk to Ranuk. Ever.
Ranuk's mother, Aneena, abandoned him and divorced his father when he was just an infant. He doesn't enjoy a particularly close relationship with her -- they've met, but that's about it. She lives in the Old City, these days.

He also supposes he could consider Treydan, Delmartan, Iphios and Yaron his step-siblings. However, because they're Uryella's sons and Ranuk cannot even speak to Uryella, relations are somewhat strained.
Marriage

Ryanna and Ranuk were bethrothed due to an arranged marriage that their parents set up, but they fell in love around the same time regardless. Ranuk loved her as much as a Gold Dragon man -could- love, anyway. Ryanna was a very dutiful wife, with loyal ties to her family and clan. This posed a bit of a problem, when Ranuk became upset about the Head of House titled being given to Sedarius simply because Sedarius held more land privately than the family owned in unison (Ranuk had earlier been promised the HoH title). When voicing his frustrations about Sedarius becoming HoH, Ryanna turned on him by taking his words and changing them, and told Sedarius that Ranuk showed disrespect to the noble who had made the decision to make Sedarius HoH. This turned everything upside down as they were divorced and Ranuk was disowned by the family because of her, and yet she still lives as a Firabi. He thinks that a part of him still loves her, when in the right mood, but much of the love has been replaced by hate; she stole his life, his children, and his love by her betrayal and her lies. He is not allowed to see her, and he fears what would happen if he did. When she gave birth to his second child and it was stillborn, all he got was a messenger. All of this makes Ranuk /very/ angry.
Despite his explosive divorce, Ranuk has a firm desire to remarry and have more children.

Ranuk loves his only child with all of his heart. The moment she was born, he fell in love, even if she is a girl. She lives with Ryanna, and the Firabis, and thus rarely sees her father. His grandmother, Riosa, brings her to visit now and then -- but he can feel his daughter slipping away, he can feel her becoming a stranger.

Ranuk was disowned from the Firabi family and divorced from his wife Ryanna in 39 A.U. by then-Lord Proxy Tyrsun Firgalik. He was found guilty of slandering a member of the Gold Dragon royal family -- though what he was supposed to have said was never made public.
Enemies
- Sedarius Firabi
Sedarius is Ranuk's younger cousin by a couple of years. When they were younger, Sedarius and Ranuk were very close friends and spent a lot of time camping out and staying overnight together. As they grew up, they headed down different paths -- while Ranuk chose the life of a soldier, Sedarius chose the life of a priest. Sedarius and Ranuk have not spoken since 39 A.U., when Ranuk was disowned from the Firabi family. Then Proxy Ojitar Firgalik chose Sedarius to be the better man for heading the Firabi family, and Ranuk was livid because he believed that he should be the Head of House given it was promised to him earlier by Ojitar himself. One thing led to another, and in the end, Sedarius got what he had likely wanted all along. Ranuk was disowned and Sedarius' position within the family was secure.
