Awardees

Dame General Alexa Wolfhawke

"The Republic Medal of Honor," Aeryk begins, taking up the thread of award progression as he moves back toward the amphorae, while facing the amphitheatre as a whole, is awarded to those who served with outstanding gallantry. We have several to award tonight. The first," and Aeryk holds up a medal that flashes brightly gold, "is for Dame General Alexa. Through extreme dedication, sound leadership and the ability to organise logistics for the entire Republic Military at an unprecedented level, Dame General Alexa was able to not only ensure that requesitions were carried out in a blindingly fast rate, but also that supply lines never were cut off in the precarious position the Republic Military was at stretched in Enemy held territory. Through her ingenuity at logistical management, Dame General Alexa was one of those who led to the success of the Ellish Campaigns of 42 AU. Dame General, come forward."

Alexa blinks a few times and gets up, moving to the front to receive her medal. "It has always been a pleasure and great honor to serve with the finest soldiers in the Republic." *Firan*

Aeryk inclines a formal bow to Alexa as he gives her her medal, palm up. "It has been our honor to serve with you, Dame General." *Firan*

Lord Captain Adan

Dame Captain Sarina Whitefeather

"The second and third Medal of Honors shall be awarded together," Aeryk begins again, projecting his voice as he reads. " Certainly without the actions of the next two soldiers, we might not have taken the fort at all. Risking almost certain death, and probable death even if their mission was successful, Lord Captain Adan and Dame Captian Sarina snuck into the fort and so delivered the Red Bloom jars to the enemy. This was a long-planned mission, one that we knew could turn the tide for us, as our victory has shown. Adan managed to get back out of the fort, Sarina remained inside and continued to risk her life in order to disrupt the Goats defences. Adan and Sarina are hereby awarded the Medal of Honour."

Lady Centurion Melani Elikista

"Our next recipient is one that was beloved by the entire Republic. Lady Centurion Melani Elikista was not supposed to fight on the front lines. No, she was supposed to serve as a staff officer, and an intelligence officer." Adan has no commendation scroll to read for this one, so he improvs. "But war teaches us that there is no such thing as a 'staff officer' and Lady Melani refused to be one. When all able arms were needed at the lines, she snuck to the front and would not take 'no' for an answer. For her courage and sacrifice, Lady Centurion Melani Elikista is awarded the Republic Medal of Honor posthumously."

Lord Captain Marsalos Iberik

"Our next recipient for the Republic Medal of Honor is a man who not only fought in every battle and many missions, but had to act in the place of his commanding officer when she was injured. We honor Lord Captain Marsalos for his capability to think on his feet and go beyond and above his duty as Commander Tagda's XO." Aeryk clears his throat. "Come forward, Lord Captain."

Marsalos is in the middle of drinking, dammit. He coughs on the wine and puts it down, clearing his throat before he stands up. Well, then. He steps down from his bench and turns around briefly to give the rest of the soldiers in the amphitheatre a meaningful fistpump, then continues on to Adan and Aeryk.

Lord General Zafir Junik

Adan does have a commendation scroll to read for this award, and so he does, after giving a smile and a nod to Marsalos. "Not one to lead from the rear, Lord General Zafir took every opportunity to lead from the front. In multiple engagements across the entire campaign, while the General drove his unit to attack, he voluntarily ran from behind cover to protect fallen soldiers who were mercilessly being butchered or about to die at the hands of the Enemy. Ignoring both pain in his injuries and shouts to seek cover or place himself in the rear, the valiant rescuer of Firans and the vanquishing Destroyer of the Enemy continued his efforts to simultaneously lead strategically on a tactical level multiple units. Through his legendary tactics and abilities, the Lord General provided an outstanding and lasting impression to his fellow soldiers." He glances up. "We are proud to honor Lord General Zafir with the Republic Medal of Honor."

Prince General Savaren Elianik

"Prince Savaren Elianik is the recipient of our next Medal of Honor. No one can doubt," Aeryk states, "his valor or courage. He charged through swarms of Shamibelians and took out multiple Shamibelian warlords. In leading his unit, he saved not only his unit but also multiple other Firan attack units in allowing them to advance from an inferior position against a stronghold enemy position. Although he lost his sword while on the front line, he immediately took and seized an opportunity and disregarding all thoughts of personal safety, rushed forward, engaging the enemy with his fists in true Elianik fashion. He was overwhelmed, but his courage saved many lived. Prince Savaran. We honor you."

Sentry Elif Aedilik

"Our next recipient was one of the first casualties of war, but his sacrifice is not forgotten. Sentry Elif bravely joined a group of archers on a hill near Judano's Climb that flanked the Shamibelians and rained death down upon him. When the Shamibelians detached forces to assault the hill, he remained behind, giving himself so his fellow archers might retreat safely. For Sentry Elif's sacrifice, he is awarded the Republic Medal of Honor," announces Adan. "Dame Balinda, might you come forward and receive it in his memory?"

Centurion Sharin Rissik

"Our next recipient--" Aeryk laughs. It's a low, rather dry laugh, "I am surprised he is still alive. Centurion Sharin rode into every Air Force engagement first. He flew, in some cases, when none other could, risking death for himself and his mount Garissa multiple times. I remember seeing that grand eagle nearly ripped to shreds over the walls of Fort Zayes to allow an Air Force scouting mission an essential diversion, without wish we would have failed and perhaps died. To Centurion Sharin, we honor your courage and your sacrifices. And thank the gods you lived."

Lord Nydiam IstaNydiam

"Our next recipient," says Adan. "Was quite the colorful character. From stolen ferries to clan leaderships, Lord Nydiam IstaNydiam was a larger-than-life figure. It is only fitting that his death, too, was larger-than-life. The Tower of Obala rained down lightning on the soldiers of the Republic, striking many to the ground. It was only Lord Nydiam, who, by directing the lighting through him finally ended it. His sacrifice saved many lives and turned the battle for the Republic. We remember him with the Medal of Honor."
