Resources

From FiranMUX

Jump to: navigation, search

This page is a list of various resources for people interested in playing on Firan. The resources vary from historical ones appropriate to the world of Aerval - where Firan is set - to resources for good MUSH clients, to information about the code we use on our game.

Firan Survival Guide

This guide, written by one of our dedicated players (Alastor), is vital reading for new and old players! If you are lost, check here first. A large series of tutorials includes tips for just about everyone, from soldiers to crafters.

Library

The world of Aerval is a rich one. Much of the architecture and clothing is based on Greco-Roman lines, and the library resources provide many useful links for those interested in learning how a stola or palla looks, or just what that food you had at the Glassworks or the Diplomat Inn the other day was, or what the art and architecture of Firan likely looks like.

MUD Clients

While it's possible to play on Firan with only a raw telnet client, the experience is generally a lot more enjoyable with a specialized client for connecting to MUDs, MUSHes, and similar games. This page is a short list of a few clients like that which our staff and players use.

Mailing Lists

We have several mailing lists for Firan. Most are for staff use (such as player log submissions), but there is a mailing list for Firan players. Information on the lists and how to subscribe to them is available from this resource page.

Game Stats

Some simple statistics about our game, such as how many active players and characters we have, as well as what our server code is and what our home server runs.

Traceroute

Instructions for running a network trace from your computer to legendary.org so that you can determine if there is net lag or routing problems between you and Firan.

Banners

A directory of candidate advertisement banners created by our staff and players.

Free Code

Firan's code is not generally available any more, but contact Adam or Stephanie for special permission to use it.
