Overview

According to the records of the Srennian temple, Sarina Whitefeather was born on September 7th, 21 A.U. in Anarinuell. However, this isn't certain, as Sarina first arrived in the temple as a toddler. A Ticanee swordswoman dropped the little girl off, telling Lady Xenobia that the girl's name was Sarina, that Sarina was her daughter and half Chimeran, and that she and was entrusting her to the Srennian Order to be placed with a suitable Ticanee family because neither she nor the girl's father could no longer care for her. Lady Xenobia kept the girl as her own ward for a while, and then Sarina was adopted by Murat Whitefeather and his wife, Polydonna Senista.

Childhood

Though Polydonna would happily tell people that Sarina was half-Chimeran, half-Ticanee -- as her mother had said when she left her with the temple -- Sarina herself seemed determined to disprove this by acting as steadfastly Ticanee as she could. She refused to ever wear Firan clothing, would make herself 'war paint' out of mud, and generally acted as openly Ticanee as she could, perhaps in defiance of her mother. She and her sister, Gemma, became almost competitive in how Ticanee they could be, though their littlest sister Nasia followed their mother in proclaiming herself to be rightfully a Griffon noblewoman.

When Murat was taken by Shamibelians as a slave and Polydonna went off to try and find proof of her Sennet lineage, Sarina ended up in the care of her aunt, Alexa Wolfhawke. Growing up in Alexa's care, Sarina was one of the oldest of the Wolfpack, and so constantly surrounded by other children. Perhaps as result of this, she began learning to quash the fiery temper she'd always had, and began developing some natural skills of leadership. By the time Murat was freed from slavery, she had begun to mature into a loyal Republican soldier in the making.

And so, perhaps it was natural that once she was older she would quickly join the Firan military.

Early Military Career

For the first few years, Sarina had mostly an undistinguished career in the military. But she returned to her sword training with a vengeance, ranking highly in the military competitions before the war season of 38 AU. She ended up a squad commander on the field, helping to keep her unit together and earning the notice of several of her upper-level officers. When she was captured near the end of the season, she was one of those who could not be traded for and was left behind. Yet some time after the Firan troops had returned home, six Shamibelian prisoners -- Lord Marsalos Iberik, Nazeera Rissik, Nicolos Ishartano, Sir Parosh Dilarik, Bashar Sarkarik and Sarina -- managed to break free during the virgin races. They stole two griffons, and arrived back in Firan-held territory tired, hungry and ill-used... but alive.

This was the first time Sarina's name came to general notice, but not the last.

She was kept on as a centurion during the initial military reorganization, shuffled around until she eventually ended up in Predator Division, where she served as strategic consultant as well as a record-keeper, and continued in her role of squad leader. She also finally became a priestess of the Srennian Order... and then seemed to take quite a fall.

Antonian Apostasy

During the Antonian Apostasy, Sarina was declared a traitor and one of those conspiring to undermine the Republic. She was thrown in jail, but then managed to escape from her captors while being removed for questioning. A bounty was put on her head, and for a time the young priestess was reviled as a traitor.

But then, when the conspiracy was quashed, it was announced that Sarina -- and several other 'conspirators' -- had been acting as Republic agents the entire time, working their way into the conspiracy on Republic orders, allowing themselves to be arrested to hear the conspirators plot among themselves in the jail, and in Sarina's case, staging a 'jailbreak' so as to draw out other conspirators to assist her while 'on the run,' in order to give those names to the Republic. Sarina was chosen for the jailbreak in part because with her escape from Shamibelian captivity still fresh, her ability to slip free would be less questioned.

With the investigation complete and the culprits caught Sarina's name was cleared and, for her service, she was given the title of sharani in the Ticanee clan.

Marriage and Family Life

After the Antonian Apostasy investigation was concluded, Sarina settled into a new family life; she married Lester, and he moved into the Whitefeather House with her. They had two children of their own -- a daughter, Valeria, and a son, Lestat -- and adopted two more, a little girl named Maimiti and an older boy named Vasu.

Sarina and Lester both compete in the Olympics, and serve in the clan military. Lester also serves in the First Division, Anarinuell's police force, while Sarina remains in the infantry. Still, family life has seemingly been fairly quiet, with the couple getting along well and teaching the children all their favorite various tasks and hobbies.

Freeing Ellish

As the war season of 42 AU approached, Sarina was tapped by Lord General Donos Ista Aldrik to act as a strategic and tactical advisor for the campaign. She helped to plan and execute several methods of attack -- including the controversial use of the Red Bloom plague as a weapon -- as well as fighting in the front lines during most battles. She acted also as a priestess, helping to guide the soldiers in praying to Srenna for her aid on the field. And indeed, in several battles, Srenna seemed to rain down divine fire on Shamibelian targets in answer to the soldiers' prayers. (Some soldiers seemed to think her prayers specifically were calling down the divine fire, and attendance at her sermons rose briefly.)

She was briefly lost during the mission to plant the Red Bloom spores in Fort Zayes, however, and only recovered -- injured, sick and troubled by her experiences -- once the tainted fort had been recaptured. Once she was recovered, she returned to her military duties just in time for her sponsor -- and best friend -- Lady Melani Elikista (neƩ Oshta) to fall in battle against the Shamibelians in the streets of Ellish. Sarina remained by Melani's side for those final days as her friend lingered, and held her hand as Melani died.

The loss of her friend cast a pall on the victory, for Sarina. She escorted the body safely back to Anarinuell, and she turned introverted for a while as she waited her friend's funeral. During this time she also had another child, a young girl who was named Melina after the fallen Melani. But the introverted mode has faded a bit -- although not entirely -- as she turned her attention back to the temple and military after Melina's birth.

And when the army returned to Ellish to work on securing the city, Sarina returned as well.
