Mer Sayam Kirdik was presumably born in 1 A.U. in the city of Lurashar, however the manner of his death and, perhaps, his whole life has brought many assumed facts into question. There are only a few facts that can be known for sure about this man's life: He was a minstrel by profession, a soldier by choice, a lover of Mes Charissa Ellashar and a Drikkist. It was the latter of these facts that led to his death and that of Mes Charissa in 24 A.U.

It was on a summer's day in 24 A.U. that Sayam and Charissa plotted to lure Lord Taleo Teranzik to Mes Charissa's cottage. There they planned to cause not only the death, but also the soul death, of the Bear Lord. Luckily for Lord Taleo, some guards were passing at the time and were alerted to the unfolding scene. In the chaos that followed, both Mes Charissa and Mer Sayam managed to escape though not for long. A company of guards tracked them down outside the city. Mes Charissa was killed in the ensuing fracas but Sayam was arrested and brought to trial. On September the 30th of 24 A.U., Sayam was judged and given the penalty of soul death to be carried out immediately.
