Official Statement
I am Wing Commander Scithvor Vasaloo, Son of Pressel, Arrow of Obala and it's true that there was an unfortunate raiding accident back in Ellish. But I've come here to start over and put that behind me. Don't you all think it's rather suspicious that Governor Hralib's body was found with barely a scratch on him except for a missing finger? That sounds like witchery to me, the very kind that poisoners and potion makers like Ruffialo's slave Anorna engage in. Why not ask her what she had to do with it?
Background
Scithvor's always been a bit of a loose cannon: he likes to fight, he likes to check out the ladies, and he can sometimes take things too far. He sometimes makes rash decisions that he regrets later, but he's got too much pride to take them back. He's made some big mistakes in his life, and is starting over now in Anarinuell, trying not to screw up again -- at least, not in the same ways.
Relationships
- Fissia -- Scithvor's ex-wife. He divorced her because she lost his favorite skull cup in a bet. He kind of misses her now.
- Tatomir -- High priest of Obala--someone Scithvor wants to impress
- Forlanis -- A rival for the priesthood. Scithvor can't stand him.
- Inaya, Aldrin and Fara -- Scithvor's slaves.
Goals
- Scithvor should convince Tatomir that he has learned the self-control necessary to become a priest of Obala.
- Scithvor should "prove" that Forlanis killed Hralib, so that Tatomir won't make him a priest.
- Scithvor should enjoy his slave, Fara Tibenya whilst he still has her.
- Scithvor should resist pressure to give Fara up.
- Scithvor should convince Fara that she has no hope of getting free.
- Scithvor should make Inaya work hard for the money--she's his major wage earner.
- If Tatomir won't make Scithvor a priest, then Tabitha would make a great new wife with lots of land--he should find a way to talk to her alone and ensure that if he made a challenge for her hand, she would choose something easy that he could win.

Scithvor Round One
Round One Reveal
Everyone knows that Bivin didn't get along with Hralib very well when he lived in his mother's basement and that he was eager to move out right after he passed his Gauntlet. He went to live on his sister Tabitha's land, and together they make a tidy sum using his slaves. Scithvor heard that Hralib was about to interrupt that cozy arrangement.
When Governor Hralib's step-son Bivin drinks red cap juice, he sometimes gets wildly violent. Moreover, the two of them never got along. Scithvor knows that messy domestic situations can lead to murder, and he wouldn't be surprised if Bivin tried to off the old goat.
Scithvor knows that Fara returned from the Night of Obala's Pride scratched up and bleeding. What's that about?
Everyone knows that Feathyr is a messenger girl, and therefore, has permits for free travel anywhere within Anarinuell. If anyone could have snuck up on Hralib, it's Feathyr.
Everyone knows that Bivin was Hralib's step-son. He had access to him at any time, and could have killed him.
Everyone knows that Keeli was an officer in Zaridos' Predator Division, that got decimated during the war. No doubt, she wants revenge upon the goats for her military humiliation.
Scithvor doesn't know why the Firans refuse to submit and be good slaves. After all, it was their own princes who caused their downfall. Not many of them seem to realize this, but the Shamibelians knew of Zaridos' failed battle plans well in advance, because one of their leaders leaked the information to them.
Everyone knows that Keeli is a Bonduin and they are experts in poison. A big warrior like Hralib would have to have been poisoned to end up dead like that, with hardly a mark on him.
Round One Conceal
Scithvor has a nasty temper and sometimes he has a hard time controlling it.
Scithvor accidentally killed another Shamibelian during a raid in Ellish, when he tied the Shamibelian up and left him out in the cold. The Shamibelian froze to death.
Scithvor was banished from Ellish for his exceedingly violent raids.
Before the Night of Obala's Pride, Hralib tried persuading Scithvor to free Fara Tibenya, a full blooded Shamibelian girl. Scithvor was reluctant to free her, and quarreled bitterly with Hralib about it. Scithvor said, at one point, "I'll kill him before I let him take my slaves from me." And Scithvor meant it.
What Scithvor wants most in life is to become a Priest of Obala, and he would do anything to impress Obala--even kill.
Sure, Scithvor would love to be the next Governor of Anarinuell. Who wouldn't want such a prestigious post? But the only way to get it is the support of your fellow Shamibelians. Just killing Hralib wouldn't be enough.

Round Two Reveal
The real reason Pevifa refused to give land to her daughter Fara is because the girl tried to seduce Hralib. Might Pevifa have come to blame Hralib for her estrangement from her daughter, and wanted him dead for it?
Pevifa feels extremely spiteful towards her daughter Fara and is aware that Hralib was advocating on Fara's behalf. She might have killed him for it.
Scithvor's ex-wife Fissia threatens slaves by telling them that if they don't obey, she'll cut off their fingers and feed them to her dog. Wasn't Hralib found missing a finger?
Scithvor knows that Hralib thought Forlanis was too good at managing slaves to become a priest, and tried to convince Tatomir not to accept him as an Obalan initiate. This infuriated Forlanis.
Scithvor knows that Forlanis's slave Katriana carries a concealed knife on her thigh.
Scithvor knows that Lainath, unable to control his slave Akiva, felt particularly humiliated in front of Hralib, and let her beg for Fidelia's life before the sacrifice. He took it out on Akiva by whipping and stocking her, but that might not have been enough to satisfy his rage.
Scithvor knows that Hralib never approved of the fact that his son Hashi's main way of making money was renting out his slavegirls at the brothel. Hralib always thought Hashi should do more raiding and land clearing. The tension between father and son could have caused a fatal confrontation.
Scithvor knows that Hralib's son Hashi was trying to write up a Last Will and Testament to file with the priests. Did he think he was going to die, and why?
Scithvor knows Priest Tatomir believed that if he could resurrect someone powerful, like a Shamibelian Governor, he would ensure himself lasting fame and glory with Obala, and would be justly rewarded. What if, infused with the power from recent human sacrifices, he attempted to do just that with Hralib, and it somehow went wrong?
Round Two Conceal
Scithvor knows that when he went to ask Hralib about a military issue, he found Hralib's slave Perdita talking to the governor's missing Skull-of-Taria cup. Scithvor was pissed about his ex-wife Fissia losing that cup in a bet last year and saw his opportunity to take it back. He told Perdita that if she gave him the cup, he'd keep it a secret that she stole the cup from her own master--and made her write it down, as is the custom. But maybe she didn't believe him, and thought she'd better kill Hralib before he found out.
Scithvor knows that his slave Aldrin was covered with ash, and had to take a bath, the Night of Obala's Pride.
The women in Shamibelian society hold more power than a lot of the men give them credit for. Technically, they're restricted to women's work, but Scithvor knows they've always had ways to influence men's decisions as well, and he is secretly a bit wary of their abilities.

- If you can't become a priest, Governor of Anarinuell will do. Drum up support from other Shamibelians for your candidacy--even the women. They hold secret power.

Scithvor Round Three
Round Three Reveal
Scithvor knows that Hralib and Tatomir recently patched up their differences and that Tatomir even went to Hralib for advice on occasion--like he did when he was considering cancelling the Night of Obala's Pride because of some late march frost.
Scithvor knows that Inaya was angry with Hralib for choosing the Temple District to clear for his wife--not because she cares about the Firan Gods, but because she believes that all temples to the ungrateful Firan pantheon should be burned down.
Scithvor saw that Inaya's tunic was covered with blood the morning after the Night of Obala's Pride.
The Shamibelians offered to make one of the Firan Princes the Ranivor, and let him rule the Firan Realms as a client state of the Shamibelian Empire. All they asked for was the lives of the Clan Council and a slave tribute. The prince agreed and let the Shamibelians conquer the Firans. But when it came time to pay up, he couldn't deliver all the clan council as promised.
