This article is about the
Griffon Clan
Head of Household: Geesha Sennet
Colors: Red & Magenta
Class: Nobles (Old Blood)

The Noble House of Sennet from the Griffon clan was thought to have died out during the Great War. It was a proud family, with male and female warriors. After the deaths of Nala and Dalumik, citizens sought out the leadership of the Sennet family to take over the Griffon clan, but the few remaining members threw their support behind Lady Tazi, and were thought well of for their loyalty.

Unfortunately, the speed with which the Griffon clan was smashed under the Shamibelian boot left few records of what truely happened to the noble Sennets. But Mes Fortuna Sennet, a well-respected Griffon woman who was adopted into the noble Sennet family without title, gathered together all the orphans she could find that she felt were the remainder of the Sennet family and adopted them. Together they re-asserted the Sennet name, though they were repeatedly denied nobility because there was no proof of their claims.

In the fall of 34 A.U. Lord Docci Ista Barun returned to Anarinuell with a group of escaped slaves. He claimed that they had all escaped their shamibelian masters and that the group was, in fact, the true remains of the noble Sennet family. Geesha was the head of this group and she told the tale of Lord Chiro Sennet sending his only daughter away with a nursemaid during the attack from the Shamibelian horde so that the Sennet family had a chance to live on while he stayed and fought the menace. Geesha was that child and the true heir of the Sennet legacy. They were captured by the Shamibelians as they attempted to flee and were enslaved. Though it took over twenty years, Geesha returned to the Firan people, ready to reclaim her birthright with proof in hand.

Lady Pia Ista Aldrik was the Griffon Clan Regent at the time and when she was presented with the proof that the ex-slaves had, she announced that they were in fact the true noble Sennets and ennobled them on August 4th, 36 A.U. In a judgement not long afterwards, Mes Fortuna and her adopted family were stripped of the Sennet name and given the surname 'Senista'. Only Mer Hesperik was allowed to keep the Sennet name as it was found that he was the true son of Lord Hersperus and Lady Targa Sennet. He and his common wife and children were ennobled on March 19th, 38 A.U. and now bear the Sennet name.

On August 13th 39 A.U. Lord Proxy Judanus Corinala decreed that the Ista Zayes Family would be dissolved and joined with the Sennet family, creating a neo-noble branch of the family.

June 17th, 44 AU, Clan Leader Luna split the Sennet and the neo-noble Ista Zayes Family back apart, recreating two houses. Lady Carana become Head of Household and was joined by her husband Srennik and all their children. Also joining the Ista Zayes' was Lady Imoen, her husband Lord Zeynus, and Lady Srenni.

& during the Great War, almost the entire Sennet family was either killed
in battle or captured by Shamibelians. No one knows what happened to most of them.
^ Lord Pollo Sennet was known for his oft-pregnant wife, whose children often died
before the age of two. In his grief, Pollo refused to publically name the many
infants he and his wife produced, unless they lived past three. Instead, he made
bastards and openly showed them favor.
! Lord Brindik Sennet had a bastard daughter, Rena, who was adopted by his sister
Fortua. The widowed Mes Rena became Lady Rena when she married a cousin from the
minor branch. Her daughter Fortuna claims to have been adopted into the Sennet
family with full inheritance rights, but this claim could never be substantiated.
# Lady Marsi did not make it out of Ellish when the rest of her family escaped,
though her sons Marsius and Daemio managed to make it to freedom. Marsi and Ora
were found after the liberation of Ellish and Ora has returned to Anarinuell.

Famous Family Members

Galanthis Sennet

Born April 1, 21 A.U., in the city of Ellish, Lord Centurion Galanthis Sennet was the fourth child of Lord Marthin and Lady Geesha Sennet. Like the other members of his house, he endured years of slavery at the hands of their Shamibelian masters. In spite of this, he was educated in the Firan ways and given the faith that someday he would be free.

Ultimately, his faith was rewarded. In 34 A.U., Galanthis and his family escaped captivity and found their way to Anarinuell, where they were ennobled in 36 A.U. Earnest in his desire to see his family's heritage restored to its prior glory, Galanthis was determined to conduct himself in a manner befitting of his station. Although he had been permanently injured in the escape from Ellish and left partially deaf in one ear, he was undeniably a driven man. Modeling himself on romanticized notions of honor and nobility, he made it a point to serve and defend those in need of protection. As such, he became a bodyguard and spent a period as the Minister of Agriculture for the Griffon Clan. Even though his hearing impaired him on the field of combat, he even enlisted in the Fifth Division.

Over the years, he paved a quiet place for himself in Firan society. In 39 A.U., he was arranged to wed Lady Giana Didoron. While the couple struggled to find common ground, Galanthis was committed to making the marriage work -- and after two years together, Giana finally bore him a daughter, Iaphni.

His life's mission to fight so that others could experience the freedom that he and his family had been given, it is perhaps not surprising that Galanthis fought during the war season of 42 A.U., taking up arms with his fellow soldiers to recapture the city of Ellish. In a tragic turn, he was killed during the initial assault on the gates. His body was returned to Anarinuell, where he was given a funeral during the early winter months of 43 A.U. He is survived by his daughter, Iaphni, by his wife, Giana.

Fiero Teranzik (Sennet)

Lord Fiero is a man with an interesting past. He was born in 16 A.U. to Geesha and Marthin Sennet in the city of Ellish. The family claims that they maintained the purity of noble blood by closely breeding between themselves, and the bloodline is said to be largely Sennet and Ista Barun. During his time in Ellish he was said to have led a double-life, bowing to his Shamibelian masters by day and learning Firan ways, culture and the history of his family by night.

The family escaped Ellish in 36 A.U. and while some controversy remained, Lady Pia (regent of the Griffon Clan at the time) made a judgment recognizing the noble lineage of the escaped family and granting them the name of Sennet with full noble rights and privileges. He did not remain a Griffon citizen for long though. In the spring of 37 A.U. a love story began between himself and Lady Xamori. The Bear noblewoman was courting Lord Esen at the time, though the courtship seemed to hold no strength and it was eventually terminated with the announcement of the engagement between Lord Fiero and Lady Xamori. In late 37 A.U. Lord Fiero joined the Bear Clan and the Teranzik family.

Already by this time he was a celebrated member of the Guard, policing the streets of the city and had been credited for catching slavers like Modestia and Danae and seeing them to justice. He was also instrumental in the famous Antonian Apostasy for which he received credit. At times Lord Fiero served the role as executioner for Lord Viceroy Taleo, and some of the names he executed include Nathim, Firuell and Modestia. Lord Fiero ended his career in the Guard with the rank of Captain, a rank he held for many years.

With the push to reclaim Ellish, Lord Fiero took on a role for the Supply Division as the head of camp security. During his time in the front, he was a squad leader in six major battle actions. He earned medals for his bravery, and he also received an iron armor permit. It was on the final and most bloody battle that Lord Fiero took his fatal blow, in the battle that successfully retook Ellish from Shamibelian hands. It is said that he was struck not once, but twice by the legendary Tower of Obala, and even still he did not succumb to his greivous injuries for several weeks. He died at his home in the Teranzik Mansion, surrounded by friends and family.

Lord Fiero had five children with Lady Xamori, including Lady Fiera, who was born just a few months after his death.

Tragedy and Scandals

Cletus Sennet

Much controversy surrounds the death of Cletus Sennet, whose daring escape from slavery led to a wild tale of women and scandal. His life went on much as any nobleman's does, once he returned to Anarinuell from Ellish with Lord Docci Shadina and other members of the noble Sennet family. He took on sponsorees, was said to be a very giving and loyal sponsor, drank, made merry, and took on with several young commoner girls. But it was Cletus' fascination with the ladies of the city that led to his ultimate downfall. He is rumored to have taken up with Lady Senika Istabelik, trying to court her. That, so the tale goes, didn't work, so Cletus turned his affections to the then-Lady Proxy Juneva Corinala, of the noble Griffon house. Lady Juneva was betrothed to an Istabannos at the time, but that did not stop the pair and scandal seemed to follow them both up until Cletus' death.

For reasons unknown, Cletus was in the Griffon Roost's Inn with Lady Lucia Junik. Alone. The next thing people heard was a scream and the lady came running down the stairs. In the room, Cletus was dead. Soon after his death, it was revealed that Lord Cletus Sennet, escapee from Ellish, was an actual Drikkist and Lady Juneva was under his spell. She was deemed insane and sent away to be revived, fit to bring back into proper society, and the whole event slowly fizzled away from the public's eye. But people talk, as people do, and some still wonder if Lady Lucia killed Cletus. If she knew he was a Drikkist. If she, too, was under his spell...and what he did to get these noblewomen falling into his clutches. Others maintain that he was a good man. But they, too, may be captured by the Evil One.
