Overview
The Firans do not believe that death is the end of all things. They believe in reincarnation, and therefore, the killing of a soul is a much more serious matter than the killing of the body. Soul death is considered the worst penalty that can be meted out in Firan society, and is achieved by the mutilation or burial of the body so that it cannot be burned properly nor taken to the sky by the god of death, Unot.
