Soldiers of the Republic

Ellish

It is a name surrounded in history, for over forty years this has been the hole in our Great Republic. How many soldiers have fought or died in the hope of seeing it. How many of our people lie within, stolen from their families and homes by the enemy we face today?

They tried to stop us at Judano's Climb, sought to use a hay wall to stop us.

And yet, here we are.

At Fort Triumph they poured burning oil on our healers, striving to kill those who tend to our wounds.

And yet, here we are.

At Garen's Gully they tried to ambush us, but the ambushers became the ambushed.

And yet, here we are.

At Fort Zayes they tried to trap us, trying every trick they knew.

And yet, here we are.

For Forty Two Years they have tried to stop us reaching this point, seeking every trick and treacherous means to hide away in their holes.

And yet, here we are.

Soldiers of the Republic, we stand now in the shadow of history, with a legend beckoning. When we win this day our grandchildren's grandchildren will tell the tale of the liberation of Ellish, of how we, names familiar as household words by then, did fight righteously with the gods in our hearts and freed the city of Ellish to restore it to Republic and Griffon clan both.

It is time to earn your daily pay of the Republic. Let no man pause or stop until our flags fly high in victory.
