This speech was given by Lord First General Donos Ista Aldrik in the year 42 A.U.
Speech Text
Soldiers of the Republic, before us stands Fort Zayes, once known as Fort Sacrificeand haven't we all sacrificed to get hereand haven't the goats sacrificed a lot more in a futile attempt to stop us?
Lord Dursun, in whose memory we fought at Garen's Gully died at this fort. It was for him that we got here. All of us know, from our families, from the tales that are told of the great battle here fifteen years ago the name of one, some, many who died here. They gave their lives to take this fort. And take it they did. Now, it is our turn to look upon those walls and say 'this Fort is Ours'.
Lady High General Zayes Vasen-Darkas sacrificed her life in this fort. She gave all she had to see it won, to see her soldiers victorious. Many of you may have joined the army because of her inspiration. Let that inspiration fly high this day as we echo her victory.
Pilots risked their lives in a daring flight through the heart of the Shamibelian airforce to bring us valuable intelligence on the fort. Will you let their risk be in vain?
Two brave soldiers risked all but certain death to take to the fort an ancient bonduin weapon, devised specifically to assault the Shamibelians. Will you let their sacrifice be in vain? Within that fort is a Firan hero. She may be injured, she may be dying. But she risked all for the chance, one chance for us to say 'This fort is Ours'. Will you let her sacrifice be in vain or will you dare the walls, fight to the last breath to take it?
Within that fort lies the body of one of your commanders. Captain Kendra was slain by the Shamibelians, her body thrown down as if it meant nothing to them. Does her sacrifice mean nothing to you?
Soldiers of the Republic. I have led you through fire and through arrows. You have done everything I asked of you. And now I ask you this. What does this Republic mean to you? What does forty years of raids, of the enemy occupying our land, of countless Firan souls left to wander thanks to the Shamibelian's ways of soul-death and butcher mean to you? If it means the same to you as it does to me..then you will get me that fort and then, then the Shamibelians will truly tremble and know fear. For the greatest army in forty years has come to claim the rights of war.
Soldiers of the Republic, the battlecry is Republic, Unity and General Zayes
