Speech Text
We now stand at the shore waiting for the off. As I look around me I see naught but eager faces, young and old, keen to set forth to retake Ellish. Our fathers and our forefathers have done the same, year upon year. Yet this year we venture forth more prepared trained and equipped than ever before. This year we shall retake Ellish
Throughout the republic, preparations have surmounted that of any call since first we defeated the Goats. Throughout the Republic, Mothers have bid farewell to their Sons and Daughters, and Fathers strapped on armour long-worn to march aside them. Throughout the Republic all hands have raised and toiled for but one task, one goal, one unifying goal: To Retake Ellish
As for my army, in return, we have nothing to offer save blood, toil, tears, sweat and sacrifice. Nought save those little things. We have before us a campaign of the most grievous and exacting kind in generations. We have before us many long weeks of struggle and hardship before we shall assail and then retake Ellish.
To my army I say this. Omit no righteous act that may advance our cause, and put no thoughts above that of Ellish, save only the Gods that come above all. Obey your orders, remember your training and seek to embody the heroes who have gone before us, who venerated the gods as we do and battled for the safety of our people. Do these things and the gods will surely smile upon you and We Shall Retake Ellish.
Soldiers of the Republic, the tide is set, the time has come. To war we march; return with Ellish free or not at all.
