This speech was given by Clan Leader Amenik Istabelik on November 18, 37 AU.

It is famous because of the marker that it set in the Hydra clan. Gemella's passing plunged the Hydra clan into over 2 years of mourning and multiple remembrance ceremonies. She was clearly well-loved by the Hydra clan, not to mention providing two sons and two daughters to the Hydran clan leader, and her death was felt throughout the entire clan.

Speech Text

Amenik Istabelik, the young Clan Leader of the Hydra, stands on the steps of the Istabelik Manor, his face looking more drawn and death-like than usual, the trademark smile gone from his face. His posture is stiff and military, his words monotone,

"My brethren in the Hydra Clan and all citizens of the Republic. Today I have been tasked to deliver the most hateful of news. My beloved Lady Gemella Istabelik, mother of my two sons and two daughters, has passed due to complications in childbirth. She died as she lived, a devoted mother and loving wife.

For a brief period of time, she will lay at rest in the Istabelik Mansion for visitation by immediate family and close friends only. A period of public visitation will be held therafter in the Great Temple of Anarinuell-- for Lady Gemella is a mother to the Hydra Clan, a daughter of the Bear Clan, and a sister to all of the Republic.

The Hydra Clan is now called to mourning for an indefinite period of time. The Istabelik Mansion is closed to all uninvited visitors. Anyone found on the premises without my direct permission shall be slain on the spot."

Without another word the Clan Leader completes his simple oration and returns to the Manor, the heavy doors locking tightily behind him and guards filling in to block any access.
