Tahani family

Having Unotran as their city of origin, other bloodline relatives can easily be found there. And though many are unotian, the family is predominantly uffian.
Originally without a last name, the family has always made an effort to keep track of all family members despite the interclan marriages, usually with citizens of the Hydra Clan from the closest city, Arinzi, where they would often go to trade farm goods.
The Great War had a severe impact on the family. Even the non-military members had to take weapons and the family was reduced to only the strongest and fittest, and then divided according to their abilities.
Junot was one of the few to go to Anarinuell and join the cavalry, then leaving to serve at the front. It was only when his squad was disbandment that he decided to return with his wife, Amulya, an ex-slave he freed on one of his missions.
Fortunately, Junot had met the Istariniad family during the Great War and they welcomed him back, allowing him to move into one of their cottages and tend to their lands. The family begun to prosper due to their hardwork, dedication and the wish to one day have their own house at Sarkaran, having even named their first child in honor of their dream city.
The innate military talent of the family was became obvious through the fine display of skills from their two older daughters.
Sarkana pursued a military career as a healer and Taha as a pilot, personally enlisted by Lord Marsyas.
Taha and Nicolos Ishtartano had fallen in love and the family approved, and they begun to prepare the wedding for the Autumn of 19 A.U. Before then, inn the summer of that year, Taha and Sarkana went on their first Campaign in Ellish. There Sarkana meets her future husband, Tamund Nesteroon, and Taha dies in battle.
The preparations that were originally for Taha’s wedding were then used for Sarkana’s, who adopted her husband’s name and clan.
As a reward for great acts of bravery as well as for the sadness of such a promising life being lost so soon, the family was allowed to obtain a last name in Taha’s honor, Tahani.
The family could also finally acquire their own farm where they built their manor and a pub, the Rat and Brew, where Junot was the innkeeper and could develop his skill as brewer. As they prospered they were able to start a thriving merchant's business with the shop Tahani Mercantile, managed by Amulya.
Just a year after, Sarkana became a widow, moving in with her parents and give birth to her daughter Tamina. Thanks to help of lady Bashona, Sarkana was able to return to the Cockatrice Clan though continuing to answer by her late husband’s name.
With already three daughters and one granddaughter, Junot returned from one of his trips to his hometown with a young zinnian boy named Petir. The orphan child was welcomed as one of their own and nowadays few know or remember that he isn’t Junot’s legitimate son. Later on, they discovered the existence of Kira, Petir’s sister by birth, and adopted her.
In 23 A.U, the birth of the legitimate male heir, Junotan, was a great joy but only for brief moments, Amulya died shortly after from complications during the childbirth.
This loss was particular hard on Junot that nearly stopped working and tried to drow his sorrow with alcohol. Forced by circumstances Sarkana had to become the mother and main provider of the family. It was only with the help of family friends, such as Sidonyus and lady Rasha Istabannos, that the family could once begin to recover.
But soon they were to lose more, what they had dreamed and took them so long to make a reality. In late 26 A.U, the gold dragon went to pillage Sarkaran and burned the family’s farm and pub. The Tahani were then homeless. Filled with the desire of revenge, Sarkana went to confront them and Lady Maya Manosik was the first she saw and lashed against her. She was arrested and in January 27 A,U executed.
The battle for the guardianship of Tamina begun. Over time several were those that tried to claim rights over her. First the hydras tried to claim her, then Sarkana's former sponsor, lady Rasha, and at last also the Sidonyus that became related to her through the marriage of Ramisa Sidonyus with Petulos Nesteroon. At the end she was given to be raised as Lady Rasha's ward.
In the meanwhile, Junot begun working on meeting the needs of the poor of the clan, which caught Lord Razesh Didoron’s attention and offered him the position of overseer of the Didoron lands and his family placed in a small cottage on the Didoron estate. Already in his 50's, he joined the Cockatrice militia and retrained as an artilleryman, rising to the rank of Captain.
After long interclan discussions about citizenship, upon reaching adulthood, Tamina was given the choice of clan and became cockatrice, taking the Tahani name.
In 39 A.U. Junot was recruited for the Antonian Apostasy, teaching the conspirators to use ballistas, and for this, and for entertaining treason without reporting it, he was removed from the family and exiled to the region of Ellish in perpetuity.
Soon after that, Kira and Junotan left to join the third and it was rumored that they went to seek their father. After Ellish was conquered, it became known that they went to join other relatives and become FFI.
The Head of household was given to Petir, allowing Tamina to manage the Mercantile. Recently, with the union of Tamina with Hufimo Fengan, part of the family begun being seen as middle class by association. The family seems to once again prosper, having also become owners of Green Cottage which is being converted into the Tahani family cottage.
