Overview

This man has the dark brooding good looks that most women find very attractive. The strong jawline and a dimple in one cheek only add to the charm.

Taleo has a princely air and sense of entitlement about him. His reputation in the community is that of someone with a slightly amoral bent. He's no stranger to hard work, but Taleo pursues his hobbies with the kind of intensity usually reserved for more serious things. Some people would say that Taleo's tempermental, but you wouldn't know it from the bevy of women who find themselves attracted to him. He seems to have a real eye for any woman wearing red, likes to ride horses, and has been overheard to comment that he visits as many taverns as his schedule will allow.

Family Life

Siblings

To public knowledge, Taleo had only one sibling. A younger brother named Tergus who was one of the finest horse breeders in the Firan Realms. The two brothers were close, and notorious playboys during thier youth. The scourge of brothels and taverns everywhere, the brothers played as hard as they worked.

Wives

Taleo has been married four times.

  • Caelika. Taleo's first marriage was whilst he was still a very young boy, newly escaped from Shamibelian captivity. His wife died in childbirth following the birth of her son Leonus, though there were some whispers about her death, including a rumor of suicide.
  • Taria. Taleo's second marriage was more than a decade later, when he married Clan Leader Taria Oshta of the Ticanee Clan. The marriage ended abruptly during the Alliance War when his wife sided against the Bear Clan even while Taleo was being held hostage by Gold Dragon soldiers.
  • Petrina. In the aftermath of the Alliance War, Taleo was appointed proxy of the Bear Clan and married to Lady Petrina Ista Aldrik as a gesture of unity, and to lend him some authority in ruling that clan.
  • Taria. Years later, Taleo and Petrina would divorce, and he would remarry Taria Oshta. He has remained married to the Oshta ever since, and their quirky marriage of convenience remains one of the enigmas of Firan public life.

Children

No one can say how many children Taleo Teranzik actually has. Some say the number of bastards alone are astronomical. But his legitimate children are also numerous and include even an adopted daughter, Trianna.

It is said that Taleo still mourns the loss of his son Leonus, who died heroically in 31 A.U., a victim of the Chimera.

Taleo's recognized children include:

Leonus, Taleena, Mateo, Melani, Empyrean, Tanya, Octavian, Arianna, Decimus, Urtenus and Trianna. There might be more. The Oshta gets blessed a lot.

Accomplishments

Preservation of the Teranzik Family After the Great War

Without Taleo Teranzik and his awesome powers of breeding, the Teranzik family would have likely died out. Taleo ensured that his brother was married, had children, and married himself and spawned many, many kids.

Bear Clan Proxy

Though taken hostage by the Gold Dragon Clan during the Alliance War, Taleo was appointed Bear Clan Proxy for Clan Leader Sabine in the aftermath of the Bear Clan's surrender. To legitimize his position, since he was both a man and not an heir, he divorced Taria and married into the Ista Aldrik Family by taking Lady Petrina as a wife.

"Liberating" Nelabam for the Bears

Nelabam was a military victory for Lord Taleo and Lord Xegolus Teranzik during the Cockatrice Clan's civil war. At the time the Bear Clan felt that the Cockatrice Clan was far too unstable, and only through liberating the less stable cities would the Clan achieve some stability. The Bear Clan and the Gold Dragon Clan each claimed a city during this civil war, a point of contention that remains even today and one that is certainly to cause more strife in the years to come. More recently Lady Akiva Ista Aldrik successfully removed rebels that had caused the death of two Bear nobles in their protest against Bear Clan rule in this former Cockatrice city.

Founding of Vahloria

Taleo was behind the founding of Vahloria to the Ticanee people who were searching for their homeland. The city was named for Clan leader Taria's dead brother.

Viceroy of the Republic

As Viceroy of the Republic, Taleo is a member of the Clan Council and holds two votes in some circumstances. He is the steward for the young princes and princesses of the Republic and will one day guide one to Ranivorship.

Legendary Seduction

Lord Taleo Teranzik -- the mere mention of his name sends women's hearts racing. This accomplished lover's skills in the bedroom are unrivaled, honed to perfection over the years. His dark eyes and brooding looks can be found in the faces of children in most -- if not all -- the clans, his superior blood improving countless commoner families and standing as a testament to his way with the ladies. With a touch that can make even a whore blush, he truly is a legendary devotee to Eesha's most cherished ritual.

Criminal Investigations

While the Lord Viceroy was never formally in the First Division, even as Lord Teranzik he held a particular talent for catching criminals. In the many attempts on his life and that of his family, Lord Taleo lead the investigative teams and in some cases he even did the dirty work. The strategy implored by the Lord usually means everyone even remotely a possible suspect is arrested. This has led successful investigations such as the Antonian Apostasy. .

Scandals

The whore Teddi

Perhaps a scandal saved to only quiet whispers, is certainly one of the Lord's biggest scandals. She was known as one of his favorite whores for well over a decade before the story took on a more tragic turn. Teddi was executed under the charge of treason while a Ticanee citizen. Teddi's obituary tells more of the story.

Wedding the Oshta

Taria is a Ticanee. The Ticanee are, according to Firan sentiment, by and large a rather uncivilized sort. That Taleo, the Viceroy of the Republic and a Bear man, would take the Oshta herself in marriage was startling. Their wedding seems mostly a political match and Taria continues to rather publicly hobnob with her ex-husband former Clan Leader Jalil Firgalik.

Market Massacre of 33 A.U.

In the largest tragedy to innocent life on Lord Taleo's watch as Viceroy, the Market Massacre still rattles the cages of many. With many of his First Division officers away at the time, it was Lord Taleo that placed then-Commander Anikos in charge of the squad that was to handle the mob of mostly Eagle Citizens protesting Clan Leader Zeysani's death. Anikos Aurik ordered pilots to swoop down into the crowd in hopes to disperse them. Instead, mass chaos ensued and the pilots lost control of their griffons killing many innocent people. It is said that the Commander returned to the Palace on horse-back unable to walk, nearly dead, and that Lord Taleo ordered him to return to the Forum to put a stop to the carnage at all cost which undoubtedly would include the life of the commander. Anikos did so, and he managed to put a stop to the damage he started. He died in the forum, as did many.

Lord Taleo offered his resignation to the Clan Council over the incident, but the Clan Council refused it. Instead, policies were put in place to ensure such an incident never happen again.

Inviting Neo-Nobles into the Teranzik Family

When the Ternaziks were in danger of dying out, Taleo saw a Middle Class Bear family ascending the ranks and coming quite close to nobility. Rather than permit them to take their own house, the then-proxy absorbed them into the Teranzik family. Since then, he has had to constantly battle the neo-noble Teranziks (Lady Trianna and her line inclinding Xamori, Fiero, Carina, Rianna, Sinan, Cassi, Tricha, and Tamorus) on issues of propriety and knowing one's social order.

Oh, the Whores

Taleo is rather famous for liking his women. Really, really famous. The man is extremely attractive and bears an allure that is nearly impossible to resist -- the women love him! And he likes them just dandy right back. Taleo is an advocate of Noble Privilege as well as having a good round of women at the Dove. His line surely extends all over the city.

Attempts on His Life and Character

There have been a number of known attempts on Lord Taleo's life over the years. These attempts were either on a personal nature, or due to the position he held at the time whether Judge, Bear Proxy, or Viceroy.

Poisoning attempt of 22 A.U.

Late in the year of 22 A.U. Mes Chrystina had gained access to the Teranzik manor and poisoned the food within the pantry. Mes Chrystina belonged to a commoner family that went under the Teranzik name, and it was believed that Lord Taleo was the largest roadblock in having this family recognized as nobles. Whether the commoner branch of the Teranzik family had an honest claim to nobility, or whether it was just a scam, is not yet known. What is known is Mes Chrystina attempted to remove Lord Taleo as an obstacle. Instead, Lady Pia ate the poisoned pie and nearly died. It is said that Lady Pia was never the same after the poisoning.

Lord Taleo led the investigation that had many arrested. Mes Chrystina was the primary suspect. When she was questioned by then-Sir Carcallo she swore an Oath to the Gods that was false, and she was cursed by Eesha and turned into a ruby statue.

Drikkist Lovers attempt to kill Lord Taleo's soul 24 A.U.

The rather famous artist Charissa Ellashar and her lover Sayam Kirdik attempted to kill Lord Taleo in the summer of 24 A.U. Their plot was quite simple, Mes Charissa lured the Lord into her chambers while Sayam waited in the shadows. Little is known of what happened inside, but Sayam was found guilty of attempting to kill Lord Taleo's soul and for that he was punished with the death of his own soul. Charissa died in a struggle to escape. Lord Taleo was saved by those passing by the house that heard the struggle, including Lord Sabinus.

Blackmail for Nobility and Land 27 A.U.

Mes Idalia and Mer Meriht Istanar attempted to blackmail Lord Taleo when he was Proxy of the Bear Clan in giving them twenty plots of land and a noble title. During these demands they also questioned the Ista Aldrik family as rulers of the Bear Clan, and this eventually led to their execution as traitors to the Bear Clan as judged by Clan Leader Fidelia Ista Aldrik.

Judged Traitors during his time as Lord Proxy of the Bear Clan 27 A.U.

Before retiring from the Bear Clan as Proxy and taking on the position as Viceroy of the Republic, Lord Taleo made several judgments that included a list of people that he felt had betrayed the Bear Clan medallion during his time as Lord Proxy. That list included his Caracallo, a man he had taken into his family as son-in-law. Caracallo had his noble title removed, he was divorced from his wife, and exiled to Caldera City where he might one day return should the Ista Aldrik family wish it. To this date he remains in Caldera. Mes Gerra of the Bear Clan was sent to he front for insubordination and disloyalty to the Bear Clan medallion.

Antonian Apostasy 39 A.U.

One of the longer investigations that Lord Taleo headed, this was a massive conspiracy against the Republic, the Elianik Family, and personally against Lord Taleo Teranzik as Viceroy. Much of what is known about the case can be found under Antonius. This was, without a doubt, the grandest attempt on the life of Lord Taleo and that of his family, but it was not limited to him. The lives of Elianiks and others were threatened in this plot against the Republic. Those executed for the crime include Antonius, Sir Nathim Ista Ankur, Lady Yasha Rissik, Lord Kristover Rissik, Lord Neo Junik, Lord Audentus Manosik, Lord Orestes Rissik, Firuell Aurik, Malvina Nesharen, and Lianna Ista Ankur.

Festival Events

Clan Leader Taria and Lord Taleo Teranzik are known for their Festival Events, which include such titles at the Seduction Contest and the Lord and Lady of the Festival event. These events are often daring, and certainly they would be scandalous if held during any other time.

Lord Taleo seems to almost always make time to run festival events during the Fall and Winter Festivals
