Even with the Market Massacre problems? we still use griffons with the guard and such? This seems like a bad idea!

I believe the duties with the guard are supposed to be more recon than anything else. The guard might ask a pilot to fly over an area outside the city for example in the hope that they might be able to see some trace of a threat, thief or similar thing and none of those uses are likely to result in a situation similar to the market massacre where griffons were told to actively dive onto a mob as a form of intimidation and the griffons couldn't be pulled out of the hunting behaviour. The fact guards can call upon pilots like that (or could at least) should add rp opportunities to both divisions. I've never seen griffons actually used in the played rep. military as any speciality except air support (possibly in part because it takes codely longer to get a griffon up and out than it does to run a group of pc's out there on foot) but these files are made almost totally using the news files which means the information is only as accurate as those files were. If it's no longer done and a senior guard and/or senior pilot officer lets me know I'll update it happily. Same goes with all the rules etc mentioned in these pages. (Kraken2020)
