Official Statement
I'm Lady Tazira Firgalik, slave of no one. Yet. And I don't know anything about Governor Hralib's murder. I just arrived here last night, after all. But it seems to me that the Shamibelians have beaten the slaves down pretty well here, and that if anyone killed him, it would be one of their own. Isn't it true that Priest Tatomir is the one who "found" Hralib's body? That's the best cover up for murder ever.
Background
Tazira was raised a Good Gold Dragon Woman, a daughter of a clan leader, and a sister of a clan leader. She was Lady Tazira Firgalik, powerful, revered, and noble.
But Tazira has always been hiding a terrible truth from the world--she's not really Jalil's daughter. Her mother was raped by a Shamibelian raider and she has felt nothing but guilt over the fact that Jalil and her own sister Emma were taken as slaves during the invasion, while she escaped.
It seems almost poetic now that she ends up in this situation--a newly captured slave, brought to Occupied Anarinuell for auction. The only comfort is that she will see her family members again.
Relationships
- Jalil -- Tazira's father. Tazira is very upset about her fate, but at least glad she can see her father again.
- Emma -- Tazira's sister. Tazira has missed her terribly since she ended up enslaved.
- Caree -- The slaver that captured Tazira and brought her to Occupied Anarinuell to be auctioned off.

Everyone knows that because Caree works with the Shamibelians as a slaver, she has pretty much free access to anything in Anarinuell and could have gone to Hralib and killed him without anyone thinking it amiss.
On the other hand, Tazira believes that the Shamibelians probably killed Hralib, and are just trying to blame it on the hapless slaves. After all, she saw Hralib and Scithvor arguing on the Night of Obala's Pride.
To top it off, when Forlanis made her dance with him during the Night of Obala's Pride, Forlanis asked her whether or not, if he bought her, she'd be willing to kill for him. Who does he need to kill?
Even Tazira has heard that Tatomir's "missing" Ring of Hate ended up in Hralib's money pouch. Now just how did that happen?
Last night, Tazira saw a man named Czar, lurking around the slave overseer Dyanna's bedroom, looking very suspicious. Why don't you ask him what he's been up to? Bonduins can't be trusted.

Tazira is secretly of quarterbreed blood, because her mother was raped by a young Shamibelian raider named Lainath--Emeelya never told a soul.
Tazira did let Hralib kiss her when he inspected her, like she was property. But what was she to do? He was the Governor of Anarinuell. It's not like she could refuse.

Round Two Reveal
On the Night of Obala's Pride, as Tazira has said, she saw Hralib and a Shamibelian named Scithvor, arguing. She also heard what they were arguing about. Hralib was trying to persuade Scithvor to free Fara Tibenya, a full blooded Shamibelian girl, and the daughter of Hralib's wife Pevifa. Scithvor was reluctant to free her, and said he'd see Hralib dead before he'd let him take away a slave.
During the Night of Obala's pride, Tazira overheard a drunken Dyanna talking to Aylina. Dyanna told Aylina that she had a plan to lure Hralib into a temple on a cold night of the year, and lock him in, then make it look like his slaves did him in.
Dyanna wasn't the only one a little bit "smashed" that night. When the Shamibelian named Bivin came to "inspect" Tazira for potential purchase that night, he was totally stoned on red cap juice. If he killed Hralib, he might not even remember it.
Tazira noticed that Lainath was watching Hralib all night during the party, and that when he saw Hralib slip out with Throgana, he followed. She knows, for a fact, what a worthless goat he is. He was probably stalking Governor Hralib, intent to kill him.
Tazira thinks it's interesting that some slaves are practically kept in chains and others are let to wander free. Brizo has permits to roam outside the city walls to deliver wine and mead to the Shamibelian army, and he uses this relative freedom to smuggle children out of the city.
Since coming to Anarinuell, Tazira has heard a lot of gossip. One thing Tazira has heard has really stuck out in her mind: Namely, that Scithvor accidentally killed someone during a raid in Ellish, because he tied them up and left them out in the cold where they froze to death. Eerily similar to Hralib's end, isn't it?
Since coming to Anarinuell, Tazira has also seen some strange things. She saw Perdita literally talking to the Skull-of-Taria cup. It's not like Perdita has got all her marbles, so she could be capable of murder.
On the Night of Obala's Pride, when Caree took Tazira to the steam house, another slave was there. Her name was Yvette, and she was washing blood off her hands.
Torianos likes to refer to his "panther tribe" heritage, and there was a scratch on Hralib's body. Might it have been Torianos' murderous calling card, to scratch his victim before leaving him to freeze to death?
Everyone--even Tazira-- knows that Savaren considered it a personal affront that Hralib let Throgana walk around wearing the Ranivor's medallion as jewelry. He'd have killed her to get it.
Round Two Conceal
Caree didn't exactly kidnap Tazira to sell her as a slave. Tazira volunteered to go.
Caree is really a double-agent, working for the Firans to help free slaves in Anarinuell.
You see, Tazira is dying of a plague that has broken out in the Free Firan Republic. It only affects those with Shamibelian blood. The haffies usually died quick. Those with less Shamibelian blood took longer to die.
Tazira realized that if she stayed in the Free Firan Republic, and died of this plague, everyone would know that she wasn't really Jalil's daughter, not a real Firgalik at all, but a bastard born of rape. She couldn't bear it.
Her brother, Ojitar, wanted to keep her near him, to look for a cure, but Tazira realized that she was a walking biological weapon. She persuaded Ojitar to let her go to Anarinuell and get the Shamibelians so sick, that the Firans could mount a counter-invasion.
The plague is spread mostly by kissing, and other very close contact.
Tazira knows that there are other slaves here in Anarinuell, involved in the resistance. Brizo is one of them. He was trying to arrange to smuggle some children out of Anarinuell in barrels.
Brizo left his latest wine barrels with a slave at the border, to dispense to the Shamibelian army, he received a message from his contact saying that "Two dead rats were found in your barrels--Hralib may no longer trust your vintage."
Caree, Tazira and Keeli know that a Firan counter-invasion is imminent, but only if they can give the signal that they have assassinated the Shamibelian leaders and key collaborators. They will give the signal by firebombing a major landmark in Anarinuell. Firan pilots are scouting for the flames, and if they aren't bright enough, they won't know to attack.

Emma told Tazira that Aldrin is in love with Emma and was viciously jealous of Hralib touching her. Might Aldrin have killed Hralib in a jealous rage?
Tazira did see Aldrin slip away from the Night of Obala's Pride at about 11:45PM, and he looked like he was following Hralib.
Jalil once loved Throgana. The idea that she could choose a goat like Hralib over a Clan Leader like Jalil is something that his pride probably couldn't take. Is it a wonder that Jalil might try to kill her and her lover?
Round Three Conceal
Tazira is dying of a plague that only affects those with Shamibelian blood. She made sure to come into very close contact with Hralib when he inspected her. She was probably the one who killed him. How he ended up in a rug encased in ice, she couldn't say.
