Big News!

War Plans!
The stench from the downtown Ticanee district has gotten overpowering as the Ticanee tanneries work overtime to supply the needs of the Army's campaign in Ellish this year. The forge at Dalus Anvil has been running night and day and the forests are being harvested (in an environmentally responsible manner, of course). Meat has been drying on racks all over, and large quantities of 'medicinal' whiskey fill the Military Warehouse.
Still needed: There may be many things, but I know they are still looking for donations of oxen and hay for oxen making. If you have either, contact Prima!

More War Plans!
Lord High General Donos has set the war budget at 25 billion (yes, that's billion with a b). Personal donations to the Firan Republic Military are being accepted BUT remember these points: About 22 billion has already been pledged; three clans haven't pledged yet; rumor has it that clan taxes are scheduled to be collected soon; and there will be another war season.

Shortages!
The army has been buying and there are a number of things that aren't available in the market right now. I know for sure about onions, corn and flint arrows, and there may be others. Zetes has been able to lay his hands on some corn and onion seeds, so get ahold of him if you need corn or onions; not sure what to tell you to do about flint arrows. Be alert to other shortages as well. Those of us that know a bit about farming might be able to help.

Olympics Finish Today!!
The Olympics close today with the Pentathlon at 7:00 EST today. That slot has been swapped around so many times that I'm not sure who's doing it, but come by and cheer for our contestant. As of the last results posted the Ticanee team is clinging to third place overall pending the disputed results of the Team relay race...hanging onto that spot will increase the prestige of the whole clan. Ticanee medal results will be announced next newsletter, and are posted on 19.

Trading Company Grand Reopening!
Lady Prima is reopening the Ticanee Trading Company. Anyone wishing to offer goods through the Trading Company should contact her. For that matter, you can offer services, too, in the form of gift scrolls...write down what you'll do and put the scroll up for sale!

Breeding Services Available!
Aervis Mink, heir to the Mink horse breeding dynasty, is looking for people who don't have horses, or who want their horses bred, to contact him. He's over in Mink House, so stop by and say hello!

Mystery Unsolved!
Rumor has it that some of our missing people came back, at least judging by the end of silence emanating from Leafchaser house. Tagda's looking for a healer to help her with a broken face. Tanya, Alexa, Alastor, Neoma...get one of them to talk, someone! Anyone!

Dame Gemma Promoted!
Gemma is BACK! Yes, Gemma is back after a few months off to 'speak with the totems' on her land. She's also been recently promoted to /SENIOR CENTURION/ of the new and improved BOBCAT SQUAD (Yes, Gemma named it).

New folks in the District!
Welcome Janine, a little girl. A frazzled bowyer tells me that she's wandering the district somewhere. Also, Zhara wants it known that she's the same old Zhara.

OOC Stuff!

@Junk Game Still On!
Remember, if you @junk, shred, spill, burn or otherwise remove from the DB 20 objects you are eligible for 1 CP. Keep a list...I have to have a list, people...and @mail it to me.

@childretire still available!
Once your children have reached 14, if you see no prospect of them being chargenned, they can be retired. Prepare a story of emigration to a distant city and check help @childretire for details. Changes!

Tics in Update!
Jafira's rostered and her update is being handled by Rasha, so get your updates to her ASAP so Rasha can get Jafira all shiny and ready for the next player. No one else has disappeared this week! Yay!

Thanks!
Thanks to Aervis, Prima, Alastor, Gemma and Canot this week. Your name could be here next week! CP noms for people sending in news.
