From FiranMUX
By the Campfire...
While half the Firan clan populations try to run from the city under seige by more goats on griffons than an old dog had fleas, the Ticanee had hunkered down and dug in in the district.
Those on the other side of the river proved the fortitude of Ticanee and wisdom of not having really large floating targets with most of one's troops in, all crossing the river while the Firans struggled to protect their ships and troops from the aerial assault. With Ekenon leading them, and men like Nimiker Badgertooth at his side, the Firans will have good reason to not insult the smallest of the clans in the future.
Lord Primo Dawn, his first maneuver failed, took the handful of Ticanee pilots and led them on a magnificently victorious assault, getting the most kills of likely any single pilot in the air. And not only that, they aimed well, too, none of the Ticanee aerial kills falling on the heads of those they protected.
Near tragedy struck the clan when a griffon fell first upon the medical clinic where Kerasha had been with her children, then upon the bedroom of the Leafchaser house, taking with it the wall to the nursery where a goodly number of the clan's childern had been hidden. All have been accounted for, Witani's missing infant son finally found in the rubble. Even the very young show the true fortitude of Srenna's children.
However, not all the clan's people emerged safe. Word comes back from military messengers that Alexa Wolfhawke was nearly killed when a griffon fell upon the jail where she sought shelter. The grevious injuries, unfortunately, lost her her unborn baby. All that is known is she lives. But how is the woman? That the messengers seem reluctant to give details on.
And as if things couldn't look more dismal, what with goats flying in the air and descimating the clan, word filters back that Clan Leader Jalil died in battle, and the belief that Zafir had died as well, the Gold Dragons have gotten up in arms and, despite the aerial assualts, are coming to get the sons he had with Taria. If they manage to breech the gates, the Gold Dragons will not find a clan living in fear... they will find a clan desperate to protect all that they have left, having nothing left to lose.
OOC News:
Welcome to all those Ticanee who've come off the roster! I'd specify names, but in the chaos, I haven't kept good track. (Bad Fachead! Bad! *whap*) And an especially warm welcome home to Ixion's player, whose managed to suvive the ultimate test of marriage when his home burned. Send him your prayers and good wishes!
Disses run next Sunday again. I'd hold off until after the next RD day to see who warrants Ticanee ire. Praises run on Monday... Ghali has ICly been getting word around about Asapaia's valiant attempt to protect Alexa and her subsequent capture. Send praises Primo's way for the hero that he is! Our very own clan war hero! (And dang, if he doesn't look good in a loincloth, too!)
