By the Campfire...

Ah, spring. A season of new growth and rebirth. And, it seems, a bed of tumultuous changes within the Clans, even the Ticanee. In a move some find surprising, others not as much so, Taria ordered Quonasi on administrative leave to Vahloria. That he left without a word to anyone... indeed, not even taking his wife and children with him, leads several to whisper about the exact nature of the 'indefinite leave.'

Better late than never, one supposes. Alexa was finally able to find the time to bring her remaing adopted child to Taria to officially adopt her as her own. The two Wolfhawke girls' grief after they bid farewell to young Garrius seems to be healing well with their new cousin to fuss over. However, it seems the same wounds are not healing so quickly in their mother. And with Harik off taking care of militia business, it is a dangerous and unpredictable brooding Hawk that many steer clear of.

Spring Festival! Not as lavish as those in the past, it is being celebrated with incredible fervor. The Oshta and her husband had their seduction contest, and servants at the mansion claim that the results were well within Taria's... parameters of acceptability.

Xenobia took first place in the Impersonate a Noble contest, but many say there is no surprise there. She's had years now to practice imitating those silly Firans. Keeping up the tradition, Primo and Xenobia held a successfu literacy class teaching Ticanee and Firans, though some Ticanee grumble that Khalida was seen in attendance. Primo and Xenobia's swordfighting competition went well as well, though no Ticanee competed. Everyone knows Ticanee prefer long pointy shafts. And Primo made a fine showing at the Aerial acrobatics contest held by Jalil, but everyone could tell Primo was letting the Firans have some glory time, saving his skills for the real thing, taking third. Primo also showed how to run an event efficiently with his rapidly run short triathalon, with Father Ixion taking first!

Jalil, clan leader of the Gold Dragons and former husband of Taria, is causing some consternation among the Ticanee. They grudgingly admit that the man has the backbone that a husband of the Oshta requires, admire he has the ruthlessness a clan leader should have, but they are horrified that he killed a woman with child.

Ghali reinforces the nearly legendary status of Ticanee women archers by taking second place in Lady Nazeera's archery competition. The children of the clan made a fine showing, with Oksana's Tagda taking first in the children's pentathalon, and Ghali and Nimiker's Tehya taking first in the toddler division with nearly unbelieveable results.

Kendra and Urtenia got themselves some men! Bought and paid for at the bachelor auction. Many laugh and wonder if Omiak has what it takes to keep up with Urtenia, while others wonder if Kendra got an instruction manual to go with Tyndareus. Or hopefully it was one of the items she found during the scavenger hunt, where she and Princess Inaya took third place. She's going to need something, what with Benita sticking a stola on Tyndareus to compete in the Spring Stola contest!

Grumbles about the Pentathalon abound as Draugik and Lippio, both multiple-time winners, have won two of the events yet again. Kendra and Ikshu made a fine showing, but some wonder why Kerasha's Agarn was forbidden from competing because of winning so often, yet these two allowed to run rampant.

Terpsika found one of her few remaining horses and competed well in the horse show held by Ely, taking second. Ikshu took first place in the dodgeball competition, showing himself to be incredibly wily when having something thrown at him. Guess all that practice with Terpsika paid off! Maybe the Ticanee horse breeder might offer lessons to Kendra and Benita who had participated as well.

OOC News:

Harik's player contacted me and asked me to send hugs to the clan and say goodbye, as real life swallowed him whole, not even giving him the time to update his @sheet properly or say bye himself.

Get your disses in tonight, but beware... you can be caught dissing now and can expect repercussions, should your target catch you at it. Praises run on Monday, so get them in by tomorrow night.

Several good Ticanee are on the roster, including Belasa, Elsai, Harik, Lonnell, Lupos, Moona, Perdita, Phrixus, Samar, Sefa, Tivert, Vilory, Witani, and Witoozi. If you want to see them off the roster, post on Recruiting and tell people what these characters have to offer!
