Ticanee Newsletter 60 - 1/30/04

Dear Journal,
Its been another difficult week for the Ticanee clan, we've lost two of the most upstanding citizens we had. Ghali and Nimiker (praise candidates) both fell during the past conflict that Hydran and his group (Ibania, Gadiste, Pavan, Sarcia - diss candidates). I dont know what we're going to do without them. They did so very much for the clan, and expected nothing in return. I couldn't believe it when I first heard the news. I was sure it had to be a lie, or some mean trick someone was playing. I think I scared Fishy, I was a little out of it for a while right after I heard. But then, when I saw them in the temple laying side by side so peacefully...well then I knew. I'm going to miss them something fierce, the whole clan will miss them. I can only be grateful that if they had to go at least they went together. Who could imagine one without the other? Not me. I know they're at peace now, and I know that sometime, maybe sooner than we all think, they'll be back...and maybe they'll even find one another again in the next life. Goodbye Nimiker, Ghali, you'll not be forgotten.
The Leafchaser children are staying with us right now. I'm happy about that. I hear that Derik has been tossing himself into the bottom of a bottle these days, and from what i've heard he's been drinkin he's real lucky he's able to find his way out. If anyone catches him they're sure to give him a butt chewing he wont soon forget. This clan has had enough death lately. Srenna's fiery bosoms, I really hope that doesn't mean Tagda's gonna be moving in too, Zutrinia is enough for me to deal with.
Some honorless fiend robbed Ghali and Nimiker's place, seems that the only thing they took was a bag full of stenis and gems. Cause Nimiker was the clan miner I think they're seeing it as a crime against the whole clan, as well as against Nimiker and Ghali. What horrid evil vile person would steal from fallen heroes? I hope they catch em and make whoever it was pay. I heard that since Nimiker's gone, Ulrik (praise candidate)has been named the new Commander of the Militia. I'm sure that he'd have rather gotten the job under different circumstances, but the clan is sure to rally around him and help in anyway they can. Cause thats what we Ticanee do.
Jitani was finally put to rest this month as well. Many showed up to say thier farewells. She's another one i'll miss, but now she can be with the baby that she and Itoonus lost. I know where ever Itty is he's probably real sad. Maybe while he's in Vahloria he'll have some time to heal though. At least we can hope. Anyway, Radik had a real nice ceremony for Jitty, and folks said some great things about her. Radik (praise candidate) made a real nice speech about her, I think Jitty would have liked it.
The Oshta held a big formal ceremony to give awards to those who acted bravely on behalf of the Ticanee clan. Many people were given awards. Ghali and Nimiker were awarded with the Order of the Panther. I just know they'd have been so proud of Tehya and Dharis if they could have seen them, they did real good at accepting the awards for thier parents. The Oshta even gave awards to some Firans for protecting Lords Ojitar and Judanus, although I always thought that was what they had all those guards that are always following em around for. Still, I guess extra protection is always a good thing, especially when it comes to heirs to the throne.
Oh and I saw Dame Urtenia today, she was stitching up a real nice loincloth. We all know how she likes those. She doesn't usually make em though, and it was in the colors of the Gold Dragon Clan too! When someone asked about it, she said something about making a loincloth at the request of that nice Dragon Sharanir who seems so fond of Kendra. Gee maybe Kendra's got a wedding tent in her future, from what i've heard its way past time for it too. She's kinda getting old, and I heard that if you dont get married before you're too old, your breeding equiptment just plain shrivels up and dissapears! Okay, well maybe not dissapears, but it doesn't work after you get too old.
I've been spending lots of time with Lupos, he's really great. Kinda like a grampa to the whole clan. He's been real sad over all the stuff thats happened, specially about Ghali and Nimiker. Ghali was like a daughter to him you know. I heard he's even trying to patch things up with his son Sir Ixion...from what I heard no one heard any sounds of fighting or anything when Lupos and Ixion were talking, thats a good thing right? Then later he was seen speaking with his Daughter In Law Wellinia, and they didn't shout at each other or nothing! Aint it interesting how the loss of someone dear to you will open your eyes about someone else? I guess Lupos is talking about maybe adopting a kid too, I think he'd be a real good dad for any lucky kid. Gods know i've learned a whole lot from him.
The Olympics started this week, so far the Ticanee clan isn't doing too bad. We're not quite in first, but we aint in last either. Which is alot better than we could be doing isn't it? Thats what I thought. Go Ticanee!!! Hopefully we'll have good showings in the next few events too. Anyway, I gotta run, its almost time for the next Olympic event, and I wanna be there to shout the ampetheater down. So for now dear Journal, i'm going to hide you away at the bottom of my weapons trunk...lets see anyone try to rummage through there and find you...not without pulling out a bloody stump!
