Overview

TRADE OFFICIAL

A trade official is usually an individual who works for their clan, making sure that clan's material needs are met from year to year. The job of a trade official is an important one, as failure to perform could result in starving or otherwise extremely unhappy citizens.

Attributes and Skills

  • ATTRIBUTES: SHREWDNESS

You have to be quick with your mind in order to be able to make sure your clan is happy and fed and such.

It would certainly help to be able to remember what year various events took place, what the people's reaction was, and the like!

Once again, in order to puzzle out the difficult waters of clan needs, it pays to be bright!

The understanding of supply and demand and other macro-economic theories.

In game terms, this will allow you to access information about the economy of the city, and analyze the current economic situation. One cannot use the 'value' command without this skill. It is also an aid in land management.

  • SKILL: NEGOTIATION

Skill in bartering, trading, and finding an agreeable resolution to opposing wants and needs.

In game terms, it will allow you to get better prices on things you're buying.

On game, take a look at 'help @clan' for more information on the @clan system.

Suggested Roleplay Ideas

  • Roleplay with your Clan Leader/Proxies to find out needs of the clan or wants from them.
  • Roleplay with other ministers from your clan to find out their needs in supplies.
  • Roleplay with other Clan's ministers to make arrangements for sales and trades.
  • Host meetings with both the people (a little like open throne hours) and the ministers/officials in the clan. They will communicate needs to you and you can communicate the practicality of those needs.
  • Bolster yourself politically -- odds are, a trade official will want to run for positions like delegate or ministerships.
  • RP with the people! You are their gateway to their clan leadership. Have Tavern Nights and invite them to enjoy a beverage while they talk to you "off the record". Wheedle and socialize.
