Ulashanai Wedding Tradition
From FiranMUX
In the beginning part of the 30's, some young Firan couples have begun observing an old Bonduin tradition, integrating it directly into wedding celebrations across the lands.
As the story goes, in order for newly married couples to keep Ulashanai (the Bonduin name for Drik) from stealing and destroying the happiness of the new marriage, the bride and groom must offer five items from their past to the flames as sacrifice to the dark God at their wedding.
What with the Religious Council's recent grumblings that the Firans' own dark god, Drik, seems to have taken an unnatural interest in weddings and his exclusion from various aspects of Firan life, young couples are taking it upon themselves to be better safe than sorry.
