Umeko

Umeko Istems was an Old City gang member who was tangled up in crime after crime. He was known for being unpredictable, though logical and thoughtful, and for having a terrible temper when crossed. It wasn't unusual to see him with a bottle of drink in the Old City -- when he wasn't being charged with less-than-petty crimes.

Umeko's first large brush with the law was in 22 A.U. He was exiled from Hydran lands for running to escape an earlier punishment. Lord Gadiste had sentenced him to the loss of a hand and a leg for the crime of pilfering and escape from prison -- and branding via tattoo. In 36 A.U., Umeko was found to be wrapped up in a rather large scandal involving the Gentleman's Club, the Dove madame at the time, and Moira Tabernik. The power struggle between the whores of the Dove and the whores of the Club erupted into trespassing, vandalism, and attempted murder. Umeko gained access to the Club inappropriately, vandalized the property, and attempted to poison the more noteworthy clientele. Though Moira was never found and Luralee turned up dead some years later, Umeko was caught. He was sent to the front for the rest of his life for the attempted murders of nobility.
